I always wanted to try middle Eastern breakfast and we were looking at the menu and it had just what I wanted! We tried the Syrian foul, shakshuka and they gave us some babaganoush on the house. We also ordered Turkish coffee and their hot water with ginger, mint and cinnamon. Everything was delicious and pretty affordably priced. The inside decor is also beautiful and makes you feel like you're at a cafe. Looking forward to our next visit

Excellent spot, a big improvement from the original moods cafe, nicely redesigned and decorated, their shisha is okay and can get some improvements, but the atmosphere and ambiance is very nice. Service is good, they get very busy at times but them team keeps up very well,

The service and the food were excellent. Very strong family environment and homemade quality food. The lentil soup and fatoush salad were particularly tasty. See the photo of the very unique dessert

Went here last night with my bf, the food was amazing. Our waiter recommended a lot of good choices. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. They also gave us hummus and fresh bread on house while waiting for our food. Some of the waiter though was not wearing masks. Otherwise, highly recommended this place!

The…read morebuffet offered a generous spread of Middle Eastern dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. There were 16 different dips, fresh salads, rice, stews, lamb shanks, chicken and beef options, plus a warm soup to start. Everything was flavourful and well-prepared; a great way to sample a variety of dishes. The interior is cozy and decorated with beautiful Middle Eastern artisan touches, giving the restaurant a cozy and warm feel. The staff are friendly and welcoming, adding to the relaxed and homey atmosphere.

For a large table, that's frustrating. Nevertheless, with a bit of a wait, we got that sorted though it seemed to upset other hostile customers. The space is quite large and can accommodate groups if and when the area is not crowded. The problem is they don't cap the restaurant when it's at capacity. Decor is lovely, showcasing Arab traditions, which is a nice touch. Sometimes you get really good service, other times it needs work. Buffets require topping up, especially when expecting large crowds. It's not okay to keep accepting customers and then run out of food and have nothing to offer them. I've seen this happen and I felt discomfort for all parties; the patrons who came and left with hungry bellies and the staff who were embarrassed by this outcome. On two occassions I remember really well, the lineup was extraordinarily long and people were behaving in unusual ways; fighting over lineups, butting in, piling their plates high and leaving a lot untouched or not eaten and wasting food, not accounting for others and acting like it was their last meal. It was a literal zoo. By the time we made it to the chafing dishes, many were out. We tried some foods and found that some lacked flavour and taste and were missing the ingredients needed for the dish. Fettuccine was one of them. Food was average. A small number of dishes stood out. Freekeh was pretty good. I liked the butter chicken, though others did not. One person from our table liked the kusa and mansaf meat. I also enjoyed the mansaf but didn't manage to get any meat. We liked the hummus and mutabbal. I enjoyed the fatteh, it was a bit different from how my mama makes it. There was no dessert, coffee or tea offered. Shisha could only be had outside on the patio and during very specific times. Even if you wanted that, the space was too tight and would knock it over and likely cause a fire. Then a stampede would break out and good luck not getting trampled on..

Also anyone pulling into the parking lot is sure to blind you with their headlights so maybe best to pick a seat away from the windows. We ordered the Adonis entrée, the Chicken Shawarma entrée, Lamb Souvlaki entrée, a Shish Kafta entrée and a few Lentil soups. All of the entrees came with the same Rice, Potatoes and Greek Salad. The Lamb was cooked well, and for $30+ it better be. Chicken Souvlaki was drenched in sauce so of course it tasted good. The Kafta was AWFUL. So dry and bland. Every bite was making my mouth dry. What a bummer. The Lentil soup was ok but I feel like it didn't taste as authentic as other places I have been. It could have used more spices. The potatoes that came with the meals were just ok. They didn't taste good or bad. However the rice that came with the meals was bland and tasteless. No saffron or anything. Literally around the corner from this place is a restaurant called Sidra and it serves waaaaaaay better Shawarma, Lentil Soup, Kafta (tikka), and their meals come with amazingly flavorful rice and garlic potatoes. With such a better place nearby I don't know why you would come here instead.

Adonis is by far my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in town; much better than Monfort and Agabi in my opinion. Usually I come here for one thing, and one thing only; the Adonis Schwarma on a pita. It is quite similar to the Monfort Chicken on a Pita served at Monfort, but with one brilliant addition - BACON. You get seasoned chicken breast, pineapple, garlic sauce, your choice of a wholewheat or white pita, and the option to have it prepared spicy, plus BACON. Delicious! Additionally, the portion size is larger than at Monfort's, and I prefer the taste of the garlic sauce at Adonis. The service at Adonis is super friendly. You can tell that it is family owned and operated as it is the same staff working whenever I visit. You also know it is good service if every time you leave walking away thinking that the waitress is flirting with you. Me and my friends all feel this way, which is a good way to leave a restaurant. If anything, it does take a while to prepare your order, so I usually call ahead and take it to go. Overall, I highly recommend Adonis. It loses one star for the wait times, but it is certainly one of Oakville's best hidden jewels!

Review: Inedible Food and Abysmal Customer Service Rating:…read more1/5 Stars I had an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience at Shelby's in Oakville. I ordered the chicken shawarma with sides of salad and fried cauliflower, but what I received was completely inedible. The Food Quality * Burnt Cauliflower: The cauliflower was charred black like charcoal. It was so badly burnt that the bitter, burnt taste ruined the entire dish. * Poor Preparation: The salad contained massive, unchopped pieces the size of my palm. There was clearly zero effort put into food prep or quality control. The Service Experience When I returned to the store to show them the meal, the experience went from bad to worse. While one staff member began making a replacement, the manager intervened and--after a phone call with the owner--refused to provide a new meal or a refund. The staff actually began arguing with me, claiming their fryer is "timed" and therefore the food "must" be perfect. They essentially accused me of lying about the quality because I "didn't like the taste," despite the fact that I was holding charcoal-black vegetables in front of them. The Resolution It was only after a lengthy argument and my statement that I would involve the police to recover my payment for the inedible food that they finally issued a refund. To top it off, the manager made a scene and flatly refused to provide his name or the owner's name so I could file a formal complaint, eventually telling me to leave the premises. Summary: I have never been treated with such disrespect as a paying customer. Between the burnt food and the hostile management, I will not be returning. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values quality and basic customer service.
