I must admit, the Mooch really did shock me today. I don't usually come here to eat and when I do I generally stick to the bar food menu (burgers / fries / wings / etc) but today I was feeling for a salad and got the House Salad w/Grilled Chicken. Mahhnnn... when I say "superbly seasoned chicken" y'all caught me off guard with this one. And salad ingredients were so fresh. One thing that scares me when ordering House or Cobb salad is that they were pre-made and have been left to sit all day. First timer. Laid back casual restaurant. Brooklyn was our server and she was great. I enjoyed my Greek salad with salmon. Salmon was flavorful and moist. My husband didn't like his burger, said it tasted spoiled. He thinks it was a fluke given all the positive reviews on burgers. The burgers are not scratch made though. There is a veggie burger on the menu but I asked if it's a frozen patty and it is. My friend enjoyed her salad and my daughter enjoyed her sandwich. The menu had a wide selection of options. Sammi is the best bartender ever, when I sat down at the bar she immediately had my drink in front of me. I proceeded to ask her what the specials were. She told me that they had street tacos for 2 for $8.95 and $1 wings dine in only. Let me tell you about the wings I totally got the chipotle hot dry rub with hot on the side. Went to see a live band and the mgmt did their best to accommodate our large party. They were very nice and flexible. Our waitress was great. Food was very good. We had wings, mozz sticks and potato skins. They took a little bit to get out to us but the waitress let us know there was an issue and would be right out- so I was thankful for that. Our first time going to Moochies for dinner...and I thought this was a really chill and cool spot! You get the neighborhood bar feel and a restaurant feel T the same time, and we came in on a Friday where they had a live band playing. It was so awesome listening to them play while we ate dinner. Food was pretty good too, we tried their chicken cheesesteaks and potato skins. This onion rings and potato skins won the show. Their drinks are a awesome too, full bar with drink specials available. Service was timely and quick, but you didn't feel rushed out. Would definitely stop by again. read more

I have gone to Moochies MANY times. Love the music bingo nights. However, that's about it. Every time we go, we always say "hopefully next time is better". Sometimes service forgets about you, the hosts are not very friendly, and the food is very hit or miss. DO NOT think about ordering takeout. There is at least one thing wrong every single time. Doesn't matter if you order online or over the phone. Something is always wrong. When you try to order over the phone, it is SO LOUD. This last time my husband ordered over the phone, the food was wrong and charged him for it anyway. We would love to get our money back but what's the point when they can't hear you when you walk in to get your food. read more

A family friend and I went here for lunch on a Wednesday. We were deep in conversation and both ordered create your own salads. We look up and realize that NONE of the waitstaff was wearing a mask. We didn't really know what to do because we haven't been in a situation like this. When our food was brought out we did notice that the waitress stayed farther away from us, so that was good, but still it's a mandate right now in NC. Our cycling group has eaten lunch at Moochies many times of the past couple years and we always have a good experience there. There is a wide assortment of sandwiches and side orders. The fried green beans I had were good but I prefer my food without a side of indoor smoking. I didn't see the place marketed as such or I wouldn't have came. This was not the first time this young lady did this & she is seated directly at the bar in front of the bartender (in blue), multiple patrons, & waitresses. No one said anything so as a first timer I assume this is normal behavior for this establishment. Therefore it is NOT family friendly!! I also did not receive proper change. As you can see by my receipt I was owed 6.68 as shown in the photo I received only dollars, 6 to be exact. Not sure if the waitress didn't have change or didn't think I could read or count. I always tip servers but being shorted does not get you a tip. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

Great bar environment with great bartenders and servers, but the kitchen lets them down. Menu items that were great several years ago, even during the COVID days of takeout only, are barely edible now. New items taste great one week, but are missing ingredients the next. I have enjoyed Moochies for so many years that I have no idea when I started going there! Bays and I went for years for the food and football. Always a good time and good food. Bays passed away and my sister makes me prove I go out for my birthday so I go there. She worries and lives very far away. I have a server take a picture so I have proof. It only gets 2 stars because the server Gina was so nice. When we walked in the live music was so unbearably LOUD the hostess couldn't even hear us tell her how many were in our group. The music wasn't even good lol there was no reason for the volume. Then within 5 minutes of ordering our first drink & food the server comes to tell us they'll be closing 2 TWO HOURS earlier than advertised. There was no sense in us even being seated if we were going to be rushed out right after we arrived. Lastly, once our food arrived, the middle aged men & women surrounding us - who likely should've been cut off HOURS previously based on their slurring and stumbling - were SHOUTING f bombs and S words across the patio while blowing cigarette smoke all through the air. The experience was unfavorable to say the least. Don't waste time or money here. Just drive a few more exits to Matthews. read more

Just a good ol' locals bar with drink specials, cheap beer, and delicious fries. The day we went they had $3.50 seltzers and they had just about every brand and flavor you could imagine. They have a large bar, plenty of indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio. The bartender was attentive and super nice. They have a decent draft selection and plenty of bottled beer choices. The menu had many food options and I was surprised to find a lobster grilled cheese on it. The sandwich was stuffed with lobster! I had sweet potato fries and my husband had regular fries which were crinkle cut and both were hot and crunchy. My husband got a burger and that was just a good classic burger. We saw they also have live music and brunch and absolutely plan on returning. This is going to have to be our new watering hole! read more

If I could give 1 star I would. I have heard so much abt this place so was excited To finally try it. Get there, walk in and literally 3 workers made eye contact and not one spoke. The bartender and two other young ladies I saw behind a podium. I waited a couple min and nothing so I walk out to go sit on the patio to listen to the live music, assuming a waiter would be by shortly. Saw one waitress going from table to table getting food and drink orders and didn't even acknowledge me after I sat there for abt 10min. Even if short staffed a nice "hi I'll be right with you" would suffice, but the vibe I got when I walked in and no one spoke even with making contact I figured it certainly wasn't abt to get any better.
