I enjoyed a tasty Arugula pizza with Portuguese red. It is a small place so it can get crowded indoors but they do have outdoor seating. Very friendly staff and your bartender attentive. read more

Service was quite good, very attentive. But unfortunately the food was just OK, mozzarella sticks were outstanding. French onion soup OK, lasagna mediocre, filet kebabs ordered medium rare came out like tartare. read more

Always a good place to come, eat and have an amazing drink. The staff is always fun and full of knowledge.

We went there on a busy Friday evening. Service was slow and started off slower when the greeter wrote down my cell number wrong, so we did not get the text that our table was ready. Once finally seated, we clearly had lower priority than the table of 15 nearby. Even though we had 6. Size matters?? The food came out too slow and 2 people in our party had to wait well past when others were served. No apology was offered. The food was borderline "ok." Somewhat disappointing. It took forever to get checks - which of course were in error and had to be fixed. We will not be back. read more

Pizza was delicious and service was good! Great atmosphere and prices are pretty reasonable. I definitely would recommend visiting if you are in town. read more

When I first moved to the area 2 years ago, my husband and I used to come here on a near weekly basis, often dragging friends, family and coworkers along with us as we were always so impressed. But then something changed. They started switching up the menu and the drinks were steadily becoming more expensive. Tonight we went there for the first time since getting engaged a year ago. We were married over the weekend and wanted to revisit the spot where my husband had first popped the question. Remembering how bad it had gotten back then, I was loath to consider it, but he convinced me. This time we were both sorely disappointed. Not only had they changed the menu yet again, the arancini we ordered as an appetizer was so bad we asked for a check instead of ordering entrees. Not only were they lacking a decent amount of cheese, they tasted like they were made with uncle bens instant rice, coated in the reading for a mozzarella stick (but with less flavor) and the dipping sauce, which was supposed to be a cilantro sauce according to the menu, came out as a tomato sauce that was very clearly from either a jar or a can. This place used to be so good and now it is just awful. The only reason I am giving it one star is because Yelp doesn't allow a zero. read more

Great place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere with family and friends. Really nice cozy place.

Today, I had the best fries in town. The chicken wings had a tasting sauce that combines the perfect elements of sweet and sour. Baby Back Ribs showed promise as sauce blended for a good rib-taste. The waiter Huy was prompt and respectful and gave us another reason to eat here again! read more

We really love this restaurant and have become regulars. Most of the restaurants in Old Town have really upped their game and the quality of food at Monzas and others in town is quite impressive! read more

Amazing service, food, and adult beverages! Definitely my after-work place to let loose and relax after a long day. Cheers! Simply one of the best in Old Town. If you haven't been here, you've been under a rock! Go ahead and crawl out and into Monzas! read more

The food is great the atmosphere was not so hot! During lunch they music was load which made the empty dining space feel like and empty concert! The service was not great, the bar was defiantly more interesting than a large table asking to be served , did not like to see the plastic crates and behind the scenes as you go to the bathroom, prefer the outside much more charm ! read more

One of our favorite restaurants past tense We visited today for a rack of ahi tuna which cost $28, it was the equivalent of a 1/2 rack of ahi! We have eaten here many times and enjoyed the ambiance as well as the food mainly the ahi tuna full rack but to day will be our last visit ~ this is a total joke and I would not recommend anyone to visit at this point! read more

I am so disappointed. This has been my go to go place for years. Went to lunch today with friends and saw they changed their menu and took off pretty much everything good. They took off some of the best salads and my absolute favorite fish tacos. I am sad to say I am on the search for my new go to eatery. read more

Enjoyed the nice atmosphere and very friendly waiter. We were seated immediately at one of the center tall tables. The appetizers came out quickly. Our dinner took a very long time to arrive. Please, please, please, please support this business and the amazing people who work here! My friends and I came across Monza while we were waiting for our table to be "ready" at another nearby restaurant. We were looking for a place big enough to accommodate our group of 14 for a drink while we waited. Well long story short, our table never actually became ready for us and we were fine with that. Elena and Nik took it upon themselves to not only help us secure the bar tables so that we could all sit as a group and eat and celebrate the birthday we were there for, but they also made the stress I was going through with the other restaurant disappear. They came and took all of our orders, kept the drinks coming and helped make my birthday super memorable. The drinks were fantastic, the bartenders (all of them) were super attentive and so friendly and welcoming. This had to have been some of the best service I've received from any establishment in some time. It's because of Nik and Elena (sorry if I spelled names wrong) that I will definitely be back! P.S. the food was on point too... trust me... I had a bite of everyone's. read more

Absolutely terrific experience! The drinks were fantastic. Everything we ordered was 100% delicious. Jennifer was our waitress and she was friendly and attentive. She did a great job. Meal portions are perfect size. Not too much and not to small. I had Jack's Special and it was amazing. Live music outside. We loved it! read more

I have came here a few times with no issues whatsoever but the last two times I have visited I was not pleased with my visits. One time I visited I only ordered a drink and tipped very well for just that one drink but later to find out from my bank that the bartender gave himself extra money towards the tip I already had left. I did call and speak to a manager who has since resolved this issue but this was disturbing non the less. The second time I visited which was a friend was last night. We ordered the calamari and bruschetta to go. The calamari unfortunately was really really salty for some reason and once home noticed the bruschetta barely had any cheese on it. It was mostly just diced tomatoes and the drizzled sauce, not worth $8.50 for sure. If I happen to return I'm definitely sticking with just ordering a drink but not the food. read more

Monza has decent food but HORRIBLE service! I think that they have the best Risotta Balls that I've had this far South of Brooklyn but to have to wait 45 mins for them is asking way too much of me. The drinks may be strong, as another reviewer mentioned, but you are also paying out the nose for them. The music is way too loud and from a forgotten decade to boot. We had the un-luck to be seated near their speaker and spent the entire time raising our voices at each other. If you dare to sit outside on a weekend evening you be prepared to either be ignored or be part of Monza's "battle of the bands" that they have with music from neighboring restaurants. You should also be a fan of car exhaust and gawkers strolling by, LOL. In my opinion, Monza is just a footnote that Carmello's added during their renovation. read more

Went on a slow Tuesday night. Service was good. Ordered the spinach artichoke dip - hot trash. Had the Hawaiian pulled pork pizza to follow along with the fettuccine Alfredo. The pizza was dry and a frozen pizza would have been better, and the pasta had no taste - felt like we were eating a frozen dinner pasta. In the end, I suggest that you just get frozen pizza and pasta rather than go here. read more

Eh, Monza was just OK. Nothing really caught my attention. My friend and I came here last week for lunch. I ordered the Monza Steak Salad and he ordered their Tuscan pizza. The pizza was nothing fancy, felt as if it was pre-made. Wish it was more of that rustic Italian style. The salad was not surprising at all. Grilled steak over a bed of salad, cut up tomatoes... No cheese no Italian toppings. Wait is this an Italian restaurant? read more

The staff is extremely slow and rude. The food isn't worth the price. There are so many other options in Old Town Manassas.

Unfortunately I am forced to leave a bad review from this terrible experience. I am sure many of you have great experience and perhaps I was unlucky- I will leave it at that. Let me tell the positives first- the ambiance was good, settings were nice. The waiter greeted us- all good. It was going well as we planned. Something special as we expected. We are vegetarians for a special reason and will like to keep it that way. Prior to ordering food, I always make it a point to explain I am vegetarian. It is the first and foremost thing as I have encountered bad experience in the past. We ordered a pizza that might have contained meat, however we insisted to substitute it with vegetarian options. Oops..we received pizza with meat and the waiter did not agree with us in the beginning, finally we convinced that it looked like meat and they tried to replace with another pizza, again meat in it. The service is super slow. We ordered 4 draft beers and came in super slow. It was not crowded..5.30 ish on a monday evening. The manager then stepped in and was very argumentative. It is even hard to type and explain, but my evening is ruined big time. I really hope management trains their staff including managers. Mistake happens guys, just be sorry for it. I have to tell that they took off the pizza from the check and appreciate for that. I guess it was just my bad experience and this is truly a good place. read more

This place barely gets 1 star and that's based on the food being decent, but the service was absolutely awful. Things started bad and just continued to go downhill from there. My 2 girlfriends and I came here last night after walking around Old Town Manassas. We looked at the menus at several restaurants and decided that Monza looked the best. We put our name in for an outside table and she said it would be 15 minutes, so we decided to go inside and sit at the bar until our table was ready. The only highlight of our night were the 2 bartenders (Dave and Rob). They were super friendly and attentive and perhaps they need to train the serving staff. When we got seated we waited about 5-7 minutes for our server to come to our table and when he arrived, he just stared at us for a few awkward seconds and then said, "Umm do you all want something to drink or something?". We said yes, and just ordered waters. Well then we waited 5 minutes for someone else to bring us waters and then maybe 5 minutes later he came back and asked if we were ready to order. We said yes, and ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and I ordered the Tortellini Crema Rosa. Our appetizer came and it was just ok. It definitely didn't taste as good as it looked when we were drooling over the plate the table next to ours had. So we finished our appetizer and were waiting for our entrees. We sat for a decent while and nobody came by to clear our appetizer plates or refill our water. Finally our waiter Sam came over with our 3 plates in his hands and just kind of looks confused since our table was full of all the appetizer plates. My friend asked "So how are you going to put our food down?" and he replies, "I guess you're going to have to move the plates." So my friends and I proceeded to clear our own appetizer plates so that he could sit down our entrees. He never apologized or anything for not clearing the table before bringing our entrees. Then he just sat our plates down and left and we never saw him the rest of the meal. Finally I was able to flag him down and asked him to refill our waters and told him we wanted to order a dessert to share and my friend showed him where she checked in on Yelp and had a free offer for a dessert and he says ok. Then after a while he brings our dessert and we share it. I flagged him down again to ask for our check which he brought fairly quickly. I was treating and just paid the bill and left because I was just ready to get out of that place. Well when I got in the car I started doing the math of what things should have cost and realized he charged us for our FREE dessert. I think that was just the nail in the coffin for this place for me. The service just went from bad to worse at Monza. I understand they were busy and it was a Saturday night, but those mistakes were unacceptable and he never apologized or anything the whole night. I shouldn't have to beg for water, clear my own plates, or expect to be overcharged when I go out to eat. It's really a shame because the food was actually good, but the service was beyond bad. Maybe next time I'll just eat at the bar. read more

So happy to see Carmellos reopened in Olde Towne! We live in the city (Manassas) and were happy to hear from our neighbor that Carmellos was doing a 'soft opening' so my husband and I decided to try it out Fri. night. On walking in, we were very impressed with the new decor - however we couldn't help but be nostalgic for the old style (many happy memories at that restaurant). We were seated at a table by one of side front doors and while it was not used extensively, it was a bit breezy every time anyone left by that door. While overall the waiter/waitresses seemed upbeat and fun, ours unfortuately was not and was actually a bit surly. I ordered the swordish special and my husband ordered the seafood linguini and I have to say the food was fantastic! My swordfish was nicely grilled with a roasted red pepper and light tomato cream sauce (that I got on the side). The accompanying green beans were wonderfully fresh and tasty and my husbands linguini was chock-full of shrimp, clams and other assorted seafood. We finished the night with coffee, tea and and a tirimisu. We're looking forward to trying Monza, the new bar/lighter fare area which was also hopping while we were there. For not being fully open, they were pretty well full. We are so happy they are back! read more

I would have given them 5 stars but the place needs a bit more attention to the cleanliness of the tables and seats. The window was really dirty from grubby kid handprints. That I could overlook but seat at the booth was dirty and rather than cleaning off the booth, the person just said to pick another place. We were trying to sit near a window. The only other table near a window also had stuff on the tabletop that needed to be cleaned off, (and crumbs on the seat that I swept oso I was not able to sit across from my husband. My Monza Salad with Salmon was very good. His Chipotle Chicken Sandwich was pretty good. Not sure he would get it again. He says their pizza is very good. My Cranberry Cosmo was good - I think the bartender put a little vermouth or something in it which is not unusual but was tasty. read more

Went here on a Wednesday night. Wasn't very busy. I ordered "Jack's special" which included capellini, shrimp, crabmeat and scallops in a white wine butter sauce. It was excellent! My boyfriend and I grade our food like in elementary school and I gave it an A. My boyfriend ordered a BBQ pulled pork sandwich with curly fries. He said the sandwich itself was mediocre and have it a solid C, while the curly fries were a solid A (they were perfectly crispy and not over seasoned). I would definitely return for Jacks special and the curly fries. Overall good experience! read more

I had a wonderful night at Monza, but that was because I was with my family, and we have an amazing time together no matter the circumstance. Well, last night we certainly had to overcome our subpar dining experience at this restaurant, and what made it extra disappointing is that it was my birthday, and I had chosen this place hoping for an excellent night. I truly wish we had gone elsewhere. The night started with the most disinterested host I've ever come across...she honestly looked as if the last thing she wanted was to be bothered with having to find a place for us. I'd heard that it can get very crowded, and I was worried about not finding a table. That might have been true if we'd wanted to eat outside- it was packed- but my family likes to keep it cool indoors, and we were seated almost immediately. The host wanted to put us on one of those high tables with the high chairs in the middle of the dining floor, but we really wanted a booth and were willing to wait for a spot that looked like it still needed to be cleared away. The host looked annoyed, and snippily remarked that she would have to clean the table off first, to which we replied, "Um...yeah, that's fine. We'll wait." While she huffily completed the task, we just looked at each other in disbelief at her rudeness, but decided that that wouldn't ruin our experience. Oh, but Monza was determined to make us dissatisfied, it appeared! Enter our waiter, a very sweet and eager to please fellow. For the record, he was the best part of our experience, and I wish I could remember his name. Anyway, he took our drink orders, went the extra mile to figure out which sangria was the sweetest for my mom, and was super apologetic when it wasn't sweet enough for her (to his credit, my mom basically likes wine that tastes like an extra cup of sugar was dumped into it just before being bottled...it's ridiculous, and even she knows it). Everyone else's drinks were satisfactory. We ordered everything all at once, appetizers and entrees, and went for the meat platter, the portuguese flatbread, I had the Jack's Special, mom had the half rack of ribs, my sister had the tuscan pizza, other sister had the penne with sausage, and two brothers had the cappellini with meatballs. Apparently, the theme of the evening at Monza was either *way* too much salt, or none. There's no middle ground with this restaurant, apparently...either go hard or go home. Well, I wish we HAD just gone home! The meat platter- I mean, I know it's just a plate of cut cheese and meat, but there could have been way more tomatoes used to cut down on the saltiness of the meat and cheese. And they could have used mozzarella, an Italian cheese if I'm not mistaken, instead of the salty (albeit delicious) cheese they had. That would have allowed us to focus on the deliciously salty cuts of meat. The dish is simply ill-conceived. The portuguese flatbread- a good concept, but again, way too salty! It was barely enjoyable :( My mom enjoyed her ribs for the most part, though remarked that they tasted like they'd been cooked awhile ago. My sister's penne was surprisingly devoid of any salt at all- she remarked that it simply tasted like olive oil. My other sister's tuscan pizza she said was unbelievably salty, and my brothers' meatballs were pronounced to be quite bland. I tasted one (because who believes 11 year olds, right?), and I was amazed...it truly was the blandest meatball I'd ever put into my mouth, and it was fairly dry, too. Sigh. My Jack's Special was across the board agreed to be the best dish that night, and it was only flavorful when the waiter heaped a bunch of Parmesan on top. The scallops and shrimp were rubbery. The crabmeat was delicious, though. I think they should bring it out with a quarter of lemon, and spray some on top...it could've used the hit of acidity that would've brought. On top of all that, I remembered midway through our entrees that we were at an Italian restaurant, and hadn't received any bread. So, I asked our waiter if we could have some. He was apologetic, and brought us out two baskets. One was filled with delicious, piping hot mini ciabatta loaves- I immediately dug into those and was satisfied. Another basket was filled with rolls with a hard crust, which my sister dug into, tearing into the hot, crunchy exterior only to find it *totally frozen* in the center. We all took turns feeling the inside of the roll, and confirmed- it was indeed not even warmed all the way through. Like really, Monza? Now you can't even be bothered to heat freaking bread all the way? That really was the nail in the coffin for us. We decided we'd play it safe and go to Coldstone Creamery for dessert, as I not only had a birthday coupon, but we were, quite frankly, not willing to have our desserts butchered by the kitchen staff at Monza. Our bill was quite high- $25 per person. It was SO not worth that much...not even close. We will definitely not be coming back. read more
