I drop my bike off for front and rear brake replacement. I was issued a contractual work order for $112.87. Five days later I receive a call notifying my bike is ready for pickup. At the time of pick up I was informed that additional work was performed on my bike and additional parts were installed and now I owe $244.92. (Side note the bike is five years old and I paid less than $500 for it originally). These guys tried to make me pay for work that was not approved and parts that were not indicated or approved for install. They removed their parts and I went on my way with a non-functional bike. Was in the process of buying a bike and their website said they had 2 of the models that was in the list of possibilities. Walked into the store and the guy behind the counter looked up from his phone and asked if he could help. I told him we were looking for X bicycle. He said "sorry, I don't think we have that" and immediately returned to his phone. So we looked for a bit while the kid never looked up from his phone and the two other guys in the repair counter section shot the crap. Left and went to another bike shop. There the staff was super nice and we wound up buying a mid-range bike that was not on the list. I get that you may not have the bike in stock, but people do order bikes or might buy another model. read more

Bought some sweet bikes here. These guys know their stuff. The selection of mountain bikes at this location seems to far surpass the Montgomery and Loveland locations, as does the customer service. Also visited a couple of competing stores that weren't terribly impressive in either department. Prices on accessories are MSRP for the most part, but apparently winter time means Buy One Get One 50% Off which is a pretty good deal. read more

If you don't know a lot about bikes and want a place you can trust and is reasonably priced, this is where you want to go. Hunter was so kind, checked out my bike and got us on our way in no time! I also loved that they wear masks and come outside to check you in. This location is a little out of my way but it is the only place I will be taking my bike for service! read more

One star because zero stars is not an option. I walked into the Mason location ready to buy a bike for Christmas. Looked at bikes alone for 20 minutes then watched the only salesman sell a pair of shoes for 10 minutes. 30 minutes and no one even acknowledged my presence. Not even "I'll be with you shortly". The internet is impersonal but at least your order is filled, it's not ignored. Hire some Staff!! read more

Getting health and bought a bike in April during their spring sale. Rode it for a few weeks and decided I needed a better bike. Went back to the store. They allowed me to return the bike and upgrade. They took a lot of time to ensure the bike fit well... and even customized the seat and handlebars. But the reason I'm taking the time to write this review is the tiny little details I didn't even realize they did until yesterday. When I took my first bike in for the upgrade, I left all the accessories like bike pump, tool kit on the first bike. These guys took apart the tool kit and restocked it with the right tools/items for the new bike. Holy Moly! Was I thrilled to discover that yesterday! Kudos to Don the manager and his staff. I walked in to the West Chester location, near closing time of course, knowing absolutely nothing about cycling except that I wanted to buy a bicycle after spinning indoors for 1.5 years. Porter and Matt were extremely helpful and very patient with me! I was pretty intimidated about walking into a bike store and knowing nothing but wanting to get some serious equipment. They explained everything, gave me confidence to test different types of cycles, and helped me pick the perfect bicycle and accessories. I have returned twice for more gear, help, and a custom fitting with Matt. Montgomery Cyclery truly has the best customer service and experienced knowledge a person could ask for! I bought my cycle on a Wednesday and joined my first group ride 3 days later thanks to the confidence and guidance I received from Matt and Porter!!! I went to Montgomery Cyclery to have repairs made on my bike. This meant new tires, a new chain, etc. Even though it was going to cost $9.99 to have the store add on each new tire and to fix the chain, plus an additional $59 for their Standard tune-up (which is where they basically just look at your bike), I went ahead with the bike. My original quoted costs were around $166, yet when I went to pick up the bike three days later, the actual bill was $209. Apparently, the original "helper", Kyle, hadn't added on one of the tires. I was shocked that no one had phoned me to tell me that the bill would be more than originally quoted. This is a terrible business practice and all I got from the sales clerk was an "Ooops, well we made a note for them to call you. Do you still want the tire?" For the exorbitant fees that they charge, I was entirely disappointed by Montgomery Cyclery and their lack of respect for my money. read more
