For many seasons I've been wanting a particular shoe. Not just any shoe-the most comfortable shoe to walk in. And let me just say...it's been elusive to me. Not all of you though because I see ya wearing them and I always say, "Hey! Where did you buy your Hokas around here?? I've been everywhere!" (Obviously I haven't but in my mind I have since I have a nice supply of other brands that didn't make the cut in my closet on my hunt for this brand, lol. Call me a collector.) Before I get to the point-I promise I will, let me just say it's been a couple years since I've been in this Dicks. But last time I was, they didn't have any Hokas, and they had a walking track around their shoes area. After doing a Google search as I was out and about, the hubby was tired of hearing how my feet hurt and starting looking for shoes stores so I thought I should participate. The search kept saying only 3 stores carried them and two of them were in KY. One e of those was Dicks. So we decided to drive to our local one. The point: (Told ya I'd get here ) Making my way to the back of the very clean and organized store, the heavens parted and I heard angels singing-it was really a baby crying but I snapped to reality rubbing my eyes in disbelief at what I was seeing! Hokas!! And not just a few pairs-a whole designated section of them! I promptly shoved my hubby and the crying baby out of the way, calm down this is all mental lol, and made my first pick. Scanned the shoe's barcode in a scanner, and out popped a young man almost instantaneously to serve me. Was it meant to be? Ohh yes. The comfort, the immediate relief on my feet! I was being propelled forward to walk as if these babies were one with body. I boxed them up. Said yes to the shoe. The hubby said aren't you going to try on others? I said, "I found the truth. There is no other. Now go pick yourself out a pair." Lol He did. And he tried on two just because he likes to overachieve. But he settled on the first pair he tried on which, by the way, was the same model as mine only mine are cooler looking. He found the truth too. And the prices were comparable to what's out there so I was happy! Do you want the same experience? Do your feet hurt in your other expensive gym shoes?? Dicks on Montgomery Rd has it. Ordered a Suppressor*******(That was complete with factory thread adapter in a sealed product that…read morevoids the warranty if removed according to the manufacturer)***** and did all of my paperwork etc last Saturday. I got my approval a few days later, so I stopped into the shop to pick it up on 9-11 at 4pm. Waited until 430pm until I was actually helped. Salesman I believe his name is Scott helped me. He took my ID and proceeded to get my item. He returns with my item that was in a ripped-up box sleeve that wasn't like that prior to doing my paperwork. We start the transfer paperwork and open the box. ************Someone did the switcharoo on my FFL item that was registered to me per the ATF. This suppressor had a different serial number and was in my box that had the correct serial number. Salesman proceeds to go look for the item and thought it was in the other box which it was not. Thirty minutes pass and we locate my Suppressor which was in the display case. Upon handing me my item I noticed it was missing something(Thread adapter). I inform the sales guy and we compare the one that wasn't mine to mine. It was factory condition and had the factory adapter. The salesman mentioned that in the past two employees got fired for giving two different customers wrong FFL items. Salesman goes and shows is manager while I am waiting, I hear a metal clang in the back room. Then a few minutes later the manager at the gun counter I think his name is Rick(tall young guy, with long hair) comes out holding the one that wasn't mine and mine. He claimed that they were the exact same and mine was as it was from the factory. I disagreed and had him pull a fresh one from the case (Factory condition with factory thread adapter in it). I told him that's how mine was supposed to be and it wasn't. After some arguing he said that he would include a free adapter with it. *******(Someone in your gun department without my knowledge disassembled my paid for product which is a breach of contract)****** I was reluctant to take the offer and the sales manager pressured me into it saying it was already assigned to me and I had to take it. I told him we could just cancel it and he could refund my money. The salesman mentioned that in the past two employees got fired for giving two different customers wrong FFL items. He assured me that the item was not missing anything, so I took it home. I return the next morning with my item because I was unsure that if it was compromised or not and wanted to just return it. I read on the manufacturer's website that if any suppressor has any alterations, they will not warranty it. An aftermarket thread adapter inside a sealed suppressor that the manufacturer says per the manual owner is not to remove any part of the product for any type of cleaning. I arrived at 9am and asked for the manager, which did not disclose his name, and he came out heated as at first. I explained the whole situation to him, and he proceeds to try to tell me that it is factory and that they are all like that. He pulls three out of the case and shows me.(They are all three missing the thread adapters. These employees are illegally modifying suppressors and selling them to people by removing the thread adapter) I had him pull one from the bottom shelf and guess what it had the factory thread adapter which mine was missing. I told him that I do not feel comfortable even attempting to shoot a gun with my product because it could cause bodily harm if it is missing anything else. We had a heated argument, and he acted like I didn't know anything about suppressors. He pulls a completely different suppressor out and tells me mine and that one is different. I know that because his is a different caliber and model than mine. We argue again, because I told him I want my money back or would even accept store credit. He said no because I took the item last night which was like 15 hours prior under the assumption I had to per the previous management. We argue some more and he retrieves my item and paperwork from the back where he took them to. I show him the owner's manual stating the warranty will be voided per and modifying of the product. He disagreed and said it wasn't for my suppressor, so I scrolled up and showed him my model. He pushes my stuff to me and aggressively says "You have to take it up with corporate". I apologized to him for the issue and expressed my concerns. Told him I know it's not his fault but someone there did something to my product.

In fact, in my most recent visit to Sports Investments, a man and his wife took a taxi all the way from downtown because the out of town guests wanted to visit the store and purchase some great memorabilia. Part of Sports Investments is actually a museum, including a large display case containing uniforms worn by all eight starting fielders of the Big Red Machine. Along with a ton of other Pete Rose memorabilia, Sports Investments has the bat used and ball hit for Rose's record-breaking 4,192nd hit, and anchoring the store is the Corvette given to Rose in 1985 by the Marge Schott and the Reds in honor of the new "hit king." Other items from the museum and not for sale are the warm up jersey worn by former 7-foot-7 tall NBA player Manute Bol, the uniform worn by Tom Hanks in "A League of Their Own," Ted Kluszewski's legendary sleeveless jersey, original seats from Crosley Field, and other rare items such as equipment, programs, photographs, and tickets from the great moments in the history of Major League Baseball's oldest team. Even the items they do have for sale (or consignment), may as well be a museum because you could spend literally 30-40 minutes looking at every item of memorabilia. Notable items include: a signed and framed poster by the 1992 "Dream Team" ($2295), a "Bat Pack" framed poster signed by Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Ken Griffey, Jr. ($2195), an autographed Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar framed photograph ($1475), a ton of signed NFL helmets including one by Peyton Manning ($935), a jersey signed by the Steel Curtain ($745), a Larry Bird signed jersey ($645), a "Marty and Joe" signed framed photo ($525), and all kinds of other great memorabilia and signed items from the likes of Tiger Woods, Oscar Robertson, Andre Agassi, and Johnny Unitas, just to name a few all-time greats. Really, they have signed items from almost every major athlete pasts and present. The prices are high, but you get what you pay for because Mr. Wolter is an expert and selling the top items at their true value. If you aren't looking to spend much, they have many smaller items like signed tennis balls, golf balls, and hockey pucks, as well as other collector's items such as collector's glasses, ticket stubs, a ton of signed baseball cards, and a collection of some of the best unsigned cards from Hall of Fame players and current top athletes. They also sell packs of cards and plastic card holders for protection. Overall, Sports Investments is an AWESOME store, and you don't have to even buy anything to enjoy it. Actually, if you have any worthwhile memorabilia and collector's items sitting around at home, they'll even consider buying from you and you can make a profit.

Power Play Sports is a must shop for any sports fan with their huge jersey and hat selections, as well as other clothing and sports collectibles. As far as jerseys go, Power Play has a ton of Bengals and Reds, but also a large selection of jerseys from other pro teams from across the country, similar to Cardboard Heroes. What I found really interesting was that they had all three Notre Dame football jerseys, including the "lucky" green ones, and an Irish basketball jersey. They even have Tennessee football jerseys and the Volunteers' black alternate basketball jersey. Very cool. Even if you don't like those teams, the fact that a store in Milford, Ohio has that kind of selection is pretty neat. With regards to collectibles, I didn't spend too much time looking at these, but they have a ton of mini NFL helmets, and a nice selection of baseball cards. Similar to Baseball Card Corner, they have a lot of cards with game-worn jersey pieces and autographs, although their selection of autographed cards priced at $5 does not include big name athletes. What was neat about their cards was that they had a lot of them organized by team, so you don't need to sort through boxes and boxes just to find one athlete, although I'm sure the Colorado Rockies/Kansas City Royals box doesn't get browsed through too often. The walls on the left side of the store are covered with hundreds of hats. If you want the typical UC or Ohio State or Reds, for example, the selection is good, but they have a ton of others to choose from like Lids/Hat World. Also on the left side was a ton of jerseys and clothing for children, making it a great store for fans of all ages. Whether you want jerseys, jackets, basketball shorts, headbands, license frames, flags, baseball cards, or even Chad Johnson's biography (it is 50-percent off, by the way), Power Play Sports is the place to be. Despite its name, it's not the real destination for hockey fans, but if you like baseball, basketball, and football then they have a ton of great stuff.
