I would give this store a rating between three and four stars. This sporting good store has a sort of monopoly on the market. There are not any other sporting good stores in the area. If you were looking for items for softball, baseball, basketball, and even running, this store is what you need. With that said, I think the prices are slightly higher than what I would like to pay. Although they have items that I need in athletics, I feel like they are slightly more expensive than what I can get online. If I need something quickly and cannot order the item online, Dicks Sporting Good's gets my money. There are not many other stores that have all of these athletic options in my area. For instance, a brand new pair of Nike leggings is going to cost you closer to 60-ish dollars (at least over $50) but I can go to Costco and get an off brand pair of leggings with the same comfort for less than 20 bucks. It just depends how big you are into brand names. Know that Nike is what this store sponsors, so you can find just about anything created with that Nike brand. I use to buy my running shoes from here; however, since they have focused on selling mostly the Nike brand, they do not have many Brooks Running shoes in the store (they now carry a handful). I do believe you can order them online, but if you would like to try them on, I have found it best to go to a local running store. With that said, they have some great options in the athletic department! I definitely get my socks for softball there, as well as any running accessories I need quickly. They do sell Cliff bars to baseballs to soccer balls to golf clubs--a broad selection of items. If you are trying to pick up sports gear for various sports and for different members in the family, this might be a great place for you to shop! read more

They made the return process very easy so I headed towards the back to try to find a pair of shoes better suited to me. Worst curbside pickup I've ever had! We were in the pickup sign parking and followed the instructions to inform that we arrived. As per instruction, I provided the brand and color of our vehicle. The response was, it will be coming shortly. After 20 mins of waiting, I called them to follow up. The associate asked the color and brand of our car. She said it will be delivered right away. We waited again for 15mins, no one came. My husband decided to park in front of the door. After couple of minutes, the associate handed over my item. So in short, the associate doesn't to walk into the assigned pickup sign parking! Ridiculous! Please improve your customer service if you like business. read more

Don't get me wrong...I love the amount of sporty goodness at Dicks. But, it's too damn expensive for most people in the world. Seriously, everything there is WAAAAAY overpriced. I guess it's not too overpriced for the amount of people that shop there..but, it just seems to me that I can buy pretty much the same things from WalMart for a 3rd of the price...but that's just me. This is a Dicks sporting goods and a good one at that! The staff here were very friendly as well as knowledgable about the equipment. The location is laid out well and kept very clean. I was able to find everything I needed without any help from staff! Prices are typical Dicks and other sporting goods stores that are in my opinion a little high if you compare to Amazon or online but you can try them and see them in person! read more

We went here to pick up a pair of ping pong paddles and a set of balls and the staff helped us find what we were looking for. They had a large selection of paddles and balls with various ratings and various scales of quality. One of the store clerks even pointed at a place where we could play Ping Pong during the weekdays. read more

We were in town from Nashville for a baseball tournament, and my stepson had left his cleats back home The manager on duty, opened his store 30 mins early so we could buy cleats and be at our ball tournament by 9 am. I disagree with some of the other comments about this store. Dicks prices are no different than any other retail chain selling the same type products. Nike, Adidas, under armor, Rawlings North Face are all high-end manufacturers. Simply meaning there is nothing cheap about them. Now on to this particular store. Good selection of running, baseball, Lacrosse, and golf. Not so good selection of hunting and outdoor gear. Shoe selection not so good at Dicks. To get the latest styles you have to go elsewhere. It's a standard Dick's which gets a 3 star. read more

Ok I'm on a retail roll. First word out of my mouth is Mike! So here we go. Dick's would have gotten 5 stars if I had been in this store and if I needed to talk to Mike, the GM, because he gets customer service and how to make the client happy about doing business there to begin with from Hello! Now the store deserves 5 stars but Dick's gets 4, actually 3, because of there choice of delivery services. Stood me up once with out a call or show, then coming late that they knew about hours ahead of time but failed to call and let me know and make sure all was good or make other arrangements, to telling them not to bring the delivery, to being told by delivery group that I then needed to reschedule, to I needed to call Dick's, to..... ok so you get the point. Dick's, fire them and get someone that gets it. Or put Mike in charge and I have no doubt he will have it cleaned up in record time. So 5 stars to Mike and the Deerfield store. 2 stars to Dick's online and their choice of delivery company. I just could not give Mike's store 5 stars because of this and I could not give Mike's store 2 stores for Dick's online bad choice of delivery company. I had to assess some punishment somewhere. And they did not even, the delivery people, ask me to take to time to complete the evaluation questions on the paperwork like they were supposed to. My husband and I were considering the purchase of a kayak. We went to Dick's in Mason,Ohio just to look at different styles with the intent to purchase in a couple of months. Since we were novice we had little knowledge on what we really needed. Jim McKee was able to not only educate us on kayaks in general but also the different options available and what was best for us. As we browsed the fishing department Jim, who also works for the Ohio fishery, struck up a conversation with my husband about fishing in Ohio and specifics about different fish species. Jim was so knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Because of Jim we not only purchased a kayak that day but also a ton of fishing lures and gear. I would only hope other sales people would learn from Jim and realize a friendly personality does boost sales. Good job Jim! MB read more

I was not impressed with their camping or outdoor gear. You would think by having a nationwide chain their selection would be unmatched however this is not the case. It seems like I had to go to mom and pop outfitter shops to find what I needed. The golf section as far as the basics (balls, tees, shoes) was good. I had to wait 10 minutes for a salesperson to help me find something and it turns out they were out of it anyways. That was very frustrating. If you are looking for basic equipment for golf, camping, basketball, etc Dicks will be fine for you but if you are looking for speciality items you need to look online. read more

Dick's Sporting Goods is basically a Walmart sized sporting goods store. They have everything here you could imagine. It is comparable to REI, but a little cheaper, and more focused around sports, than outdoors. They have just about any sports accessory from golf clubs, to soccer cleats. They also have outdoor equipment like tents, kayaks, canoes, and fishing reels. They set themselves apart by including a gun store inside of their store. The one by my house has mainly rifles, and shotguns, but no pistols really besides the occasional .22. Price-wise they are little expensive (full retail), but I don't believe a good deal cannot be had here. I would watch their flyers, and check online for coupons, as it doesn't seem like they have sales very often. The associates are friendly, but sometimes hard to find if you aren't in one of the key areas by the register, or in the back by the shoes. The store is clean, and very inviting. I will definitely shop here again. read more

Randy is the man you want to look for if you're looking for golfing shoes. This Dick's sporting goods is by far one of the best and most friendly locations I have had the opportunity to visit. We came to get one of my friends a new pair of golfing shoes and Randy was helpful in helping us decide on which shoe was the best fit for our friend. The store was very accommodating even though we had stayed a bit after closing. Overall I would recommend this store to anybody and I would definitely come back again when I'm in the area and in need of sporting goods! read more

I was here two weeks ago and I needed to purchase a bike for my son. A young lady offered to help but admitted that she knew nothing about bikes. I asked her what the difference was between two bikes and she proceeded to read the descriptions. I explained that I have extensively researched these models and asked if she could get a person who is knowledgeable in this department. It took a very long time but I was able to get my questions answered and I purchased the bike. Just today I went back to get some Yeti mugs and summer cloths. I had a cart with about $300 worth of merchandise and waited at the sole checkout line behind six other people. The line kept getting longer and I wondered why the second register attendant was casually socializing. Neither of them called for help. After 10 minutes of waiting in a line that surely would have taken another 15 or so to get to me, I left my cart and proceeded to walk through the empty counter towards the exit. The sole cashier who was servicing customers yelled at me and said "she was next" pointing to the #2 person in line. I think she believed that the other cashier was done socializing and was ready to do her job. I explained that I am leaving and will purchase these items from Amazon. She smirked and turned away. I called to explain this to a manager (Patrick) and he was not surprised. I believe this is indicative of the culture at this store. I know I could have saved a lot by purchasing online but I am proud to support local merchants. I will never come back to this store. It is unfortunate because I would have come back that evening with my trailer to purchase a couple kayaks and SUP's. Instead I will go elsewhere. Can't imagine this store will be around much longer. read more
