The brands they carry will last a long time, so one pays more upfront but does not need to replace the item again, saving money over time. Single purchase is also a very sustainable friendly way to shop. But onto a review of the store, it isn't a place where you'll find fancy displays or wasted floor space but it certainly a place where you can find what you're looking for when you need things fishing, shooting or other outdoor recreation. I'd ordered some product online and after it arrived one of the items, a hunting cap, was not what I was expecting. I called the store first to find out if it could be exchanged there to avoid the trip if it couldn't. A person named Amy answered the phone and said in a very cheery voice of course they accepted online exchanges. She even gave me a better understanding of where the Kenwood store is located (no direct access from the name of the street given for its location.) When I got to the store, someone asks if he can help me, and I tell him about my conversation with Amy. So Amy appears from somewhere, and it turns out she's one of the managers. I find another cap I like, and Amy couldn't have made the exchange any easier, even though they didn't carry the cap I brought in, and it would have to be returned to their store in Maine. I apologize for the extra work I've caused them, and Amy says something to the affect of don't be ridiculous, their primary objective is to provide the best customer service possible. All I can say is the customer service I received to exchange a lowly $15.00 hunting cap was spectacular, and it will certainly be my primary memory of visiting the LL Bean Kenwood location.
