This is my daughters favorite Mexican restaurant in Columbus. We've all been here before. They were out of what I wanted (carnitas is my go-to Mexican dish) so I had a chicken taco and a beef enchilada. They were fine. The refried beans are really good. Hubbo had a rellano (beef) and a tamale. He liked both.

Chili con Carne with egg, rice, and beans

We traveled from Arizona to Alabama recently and stopped by this restaurant. We found the service and ambience were great. We ordered the Chili con Carne which consisted of a red chili with a pork and beef mixture. The Chile con Carne wasn't my favorite as I found it to be unseasoned. However the rice and rice were delicious. I'm certain if I tried other things on the menu, I would have liked it. Should we ever return to Phenix, Alabama, I would stop by and try something else.

Chips, salsa, and cheese dip (although we had already eaten most of the chips so this basket was full)

Perfecto! Everything was delicious from the thin, crispy chips and salsa to the beef enchilada, burrito, rice and beans! Best Mexican food with lots of flavor in Columbus!

Nasty supposed to be Shrimp quesadilla. Looks like 2 tacos, right? ‍

Nasty!!! Ate here twice and LITERALLY got sick both times. Never again!!!! DISGUSTING!!! Greasy food, and they do NOT know how to make a quesadilla. Served a shrimp quesadilla (pictured) where the wrap was soggy & only a bit of cheese and a few baby shrimp. That's NOT a quesadilla. It looked like 2 tacos!!! Y'all need to do better!!! The best thing in here are the drinks. Hard to mess them up!

I consider myself somewhat of a Tex Mex aficionado and was legitimately heartbroken when I moved here three years ago and found out there were no restaurants that served chile relleno (referred to as "chiles poblanos" in Georgia). I had been meaning to check out this new spot since it opened and was excited when my husband agreed to an indulgent date night. We ordered the Benihana-style guacamole made at the table, a $2.99 Monday margarita, a chiles poblanos, and the burrito California. While the guacamole and smokey salsa were a tad under-salted, both of our meals were exactly as expected: Tex Mex. Neither were revolutionary but they hit the spot and comforted us in a flurry of carbs and cheese. The only strange thing was that the woman who I can only assume is the owner took our second basket of chips off our table without asking, since our entrees had been brought to us. In hindsight, she probably did it because she knew what was best for us and didn't want us to pass out from a carb-coma. All in all, we had a great date, for a great price, and I am happy to have found a place to supply me with favorite Tex Mex dish.

I first visited this restaurant with my brother based upon the stellar reviews they were given on yelp; since then I have dined three other times and the serviced diminished each time. 1st visit...Kristen is EXCELLENT! if you go ask for her! She is very attentive. I ordered strawberry margarita... it was EVERYTHING! The complimentary chips come with two salsas both of which are quite enjoyable. The verde sauce was mild and the red sauce had a hint of "kick" to it. My entree was the three tacos of which I tried the steak, pollo and carnitas... a mix if you will. The steak ... GET IT! the carnitas... A MUST, the pollo was pretty basic, but not bad. The meal comes dressed with a side of guacamole and sour cream which both could use some work. The guacamole needs some attention in regards to taste and the sour cream is watered down and runny. 2nd visit I ordered a chile poblano... it was "ok" and so was the service. 3rd visit I ordered a carnitas taco.. it cost $6.50 which was crazy; like literally some pulled pork and a tortilla with no dressings to go with it. The service sadly was not good. The staff members were more involved in their own personal conversations than the customers; mind you it wasn't even busy. There was literally no discretion about their conversations. The waitress I had to seek out to be sat and waited on because there was no one to great us at the front upon entering the restaurant. We had to ask for refills more than once to include additional napkins and straws. The place has been open for less than a year from what I was told by the staff and is tucked away in a small complex near the Hollywood Connections building. Its easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Considering the level of service these past visits I'm certain I will not be returning.

    What a fun place!

My husband's taco salad was good - flavor was great but he says that he could not find the cheese if there was any and he likes shredded cheese on his taco salad. My quesadilla was also good. Lots of shredded chicken, some kind of melted cheese/bean filling, and a side of lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. We both ordered off the lunch menu which meant lunch was less than$15, without drinks. Typical lunch sized portions. Our waitress was great: efficient, quick, attentive and not over bearing. The only reason they did not get 5 stars was that it didn't feel like a 5 star lunch. The ambience was just nothing special. It was clean and utilitarian and practical, but nothing special. We may, or may not, go back there is no special draw.

Smoked salsa! That's all you need to know ! Shrimp fajitas quesadillas had the most flavor ! My buddy had the Burrito-al-carbon and it was even better. This place is a must try, when you come ask for Bianca. The best service in Columbus!

Tucked away in a corner next to Staybridge, this hidden gem treated us well. The staff was super friendly and their recommendations seemed honest and were absolutely the best. Everything tasted fresh and they even made the guacamole right in front of us! Will definitely be back.

This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in town! Yes, it's Tex-Mex but it is so delicious! We went on a Thursday-$2.99 sangrias!!! They were wonderful! I had one chicken taco and one carnitas taco. The meat was seasoned so well and juicy. The salsa was the best Mexican restaurant salsa I've ever had! New favorite Mexican food spot for sure! Priced very reasonably too!

Flan is very good even though a bit pricey. Food is better than lost Mexican places in Columbus.

The entrance to this unassuming spot feels almost deliberately off-putting at first--plain facade,…read morea sign directing you to a side door that leads straight through an attached market. It's a clever (or perhaps just pragmatic) setup; that market itself is a gem, stocked with an impressive array of authentic Spanish and Mexican goods. We'll definitely return for provisions alone. Inside the dining room, the space is spotless if somewhat dated--simple, no-frills decor that prioritizes function over flair. Our server was cheerful and energetic, a bright presence, though service proved inconsistent; she largely vanished after taking our order, leaving us to wait an inexplicable 30-plus minutes for food despite only two other tables occupied. When plates finally arrived, the portions were strikingly generous, almost comically so for the price point. We began with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa carried decent freshness and a mild kick, but it wanted for seasoning--more salt, a bolder hit of garlic and cumin would have elevated it from passable to memorable. No refills appeared, which felt stingy given the "free" promise. The horchata, however, shone: creamy, deeply flavored with cinnamon and vanilla notes, refreshingly cool and well-balanced--one of the better versions I've encountered recently. The carnitas dinner plate delivered on volume: a mountain of moist, crisped pork that had all the textural appeal one hopes for--tender interior, satisfying crunch on the edges--yet it arrived curiously underseasoned, lacking the salty, savory depth that should define the dish. Homemade refried beans were a highlight: smooth, flavorful, clearly made in-house with real care. The Mexican rice held good seasoning too, though it verged on dry. Steak fajitas followed the same pattern--giant heaps tender strips of beef and soft, well-cooked vegetables in generous heaps, but again, flavor felt muted, as if the seasoning hand had been unusually light. It's puzzling: everything executed competently, meats tender, produce fresh, yet the palate kept searching for that missing punch of spice, acid, or salt. No where else in COLGA gives this much steak, so very grateful. The shrimp cocktail appetizer (small portion) justified its price through quality ingredients--clean, plump shrimp in a classic tomato-based sauce--but it was straightforward, nothing transcendent. The queso fundido with chorizo fared far better: authentic, house-made chorizo with real spice and depth, melded into creamy, stretchy queso that felt genuinely homemade and deeply satisfying. Desserts redeemed much of the meal. The tres leches cake was textbook--moist without being soggy, richly soaked in the three milks, properly sweet and authentic in texture. The chocoflan, though, was the standout: flawless layering, silky flan with just the right caramel note, dense chocolate cake beneath, executed with evident skill and genuine flavor. In the end, this place offers undeniable value through abundance and some authentic touches (those beans, the queso, the desserts), alongside a market worth the trip alone. But the persistent lack of seasoning across the savory dishes left the experience feeling curiously flat. It's hard to muster enthusiasm for a return meal when so much potential goes unseasoned. Still, another visit to explore different menu items isn't out of the question--perhaps the kitchen's bolder preparations will hit the mark. For now, it's a solid neighborhood option for quantity and certain homemade elements, but one that needs more confidence behind the seasoning to truly impress.
