While visiting my son we decided to go out for dinner. We were both in the mood for Mexidan food so we decided to try Me Encanta, and it was a great decision. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The murals, flowers hanging from the lights and Christmas decorations shouldn't have worked together but they did, and I couldn't stop smiling. There were televisions on the wall to allow diners to keep up with sporting events should they want to. We enjoyed watching UCONN women win their game. The menu is stocked with a variety of choices. We got the Choriqueso Dip as an appetizer, and he ordered a Burrito California and me, the Quesadilla Gobernador. The food was excellent, hot, cheesy and full of fresh ingredients. Our only complaint is that the appetizer and meals all came out at the same time. Because the appetizer was so rich we would get it again but as a meal instead of to accompany one. Our server was friendly and attentive. If you are in Columbus and in the mood for great food stop in here. We definnitely plan on returning and trying more options from the menu. read more

Beautiful interior with really cool and creative dishes. Presentation was nice. We cant have pork so when one dish came with bacon wrapped shrimp we asked for regular shrimp which they gave which i thought was really nice and accommodating. The replacement shrimp was really good too read more

The interior is beautiful and the vibe is amazing. Everything we had was good. I love how they have the bar set up so that you can sit outside if you want to. The salsa is not spicy at all but has great flavor. I did find out at the end of our meal that they have a spicy version but we were leaving so I'll try that the next time. My only complaint is that the windows need blinds. The sun going down at sunset was very uncomfortable on the eyes. Also, if you are sensitive to noise, it's pretty loud. This is something I'm mindful of since we have family with autism. I think that sitting closer to the bar where they have an open window for outside bar access, helps with the noise if you can ask to sit down on that end of the dining room. read more

I came in with no expectations. Ambiance was nice and the staff were attentive. I had the Fridas quesadilla, which includes veggies with a side salad and black beans. When trying new Mexican restaurants I tend to keep it safe and order something that I feel is hard to do wrong (quesadillas, tacos, etc). Boy was I wrong. From the outside the entree looked good. The veggies were good. The chicken fine. But it was rather subpar. It was the cheese. The cheese used was not what I'd expect from a modern Mexican restaurant. I expect it at On the Border, but not at an authentic presenting restaurant. The rest of the table enjoyed their food. But I didn't. Maybe I won't order the quesadilla next time. Maybe there won't be a next time. But if I would suggest something, please use Oaxaca cheese or mozzarella. It'll help tremendously. Leave the "queso" used in this quesadilla for the choriqueso dip. read more

Great Mexican spot right next to my hotel in downtown Columbus. The atmosphere was lively and family friendly. The food was standout--especially for Mexican food on the east coast. We have sat at the bar and at tables and both are bad. Last night was so bad. Slow service to start but our order was correct. Ordered a second beer when our food was dropped off. We were finished eating and it still hadn't been delivered. Asked a passing server if they could check on it and she delivered it. Was not cold by then. Drank it and waited some more. Wanted to order dessert but nobody asked us if we wanted anything. We had to get our check from the hostess stand because we hadn't seen our server in 20 min. It's too bad as we enjoyed going there. The appetizers were great, so I'm amazing ellote . The Brea burrito was very small and the description is very confusing on the menu. It said order with rice and beans to make a meal so I ordered a side of rice and beans but then the Brea came with rice and beans so I ended up with double rice and beans, which is OK there's just some miscommunication on the menu it also didn't specify black beans or refried beans. Brea had great flavor. However, lacked and volume. Husband ordered the California burrito and as you can tell, the pictures had hardly any filling so very, very disappointed in the quantity of food and the burrito itself really didn't have much flavor. Surprised by all of the beautiful colors of the light shades and hand painted wall murals!! Very bright and eclectic atmosphere. The entryway doesn't do the interior justice!! Believe ALL they hype for Me Encanta (New Mexican restaurant off Broadway) I love how spacious, colorful and modern it looks inside. The salsa was not spicy and tasted fresh. The food is considered upscale Mexican but you can find all your typical favorites like burritos, tacos, quesadillas. Today my mom ordered the tostones (fried plaintains) with pork belly as the protein. She opted to have all the toppings on the side. The guacamole portion was huge and the queso fresco was delicious! And every Latino knows that where there's plátanos there's mayo-ketchup! The pork belly was a generous portion and I especially appreciated that it was more of the meat side than the hard skin side of pork belly. If all of it tasted good separately I can only imagine how it would taste in one bite! I can definitely see this as a crowd pleaser! I ordered the grilled chicken. It came with sautéed veggies, rice and beans. Idk what they seasoned the chicken and veggies with... but I wanted to lick the plate! I will definitely be back for this! For dessert I ordered chocoflan, perfect mix of chocolate cake on top of a flan bottom. I know it sounds like a weird mix, but it's super satisfying to have the chocolate and caramel in one bite! My mom ordered churro carrito ($17) but definitely worth it! I suggest you share this because it was too much for us. You could choose to eat your fried churro by itself, eat it with the vanilla Ice cream, or top it off (or dunk it) with one of the three sauces: a sweet fruit like jelly, melted chocolate, or my personal favorite: the sweet, thick, condensed milk that transports me right back to my childhood.
