Untouchable Dance Studio - This studio is amazing and has taught my daughter great dance and gymnastics skills!

There is free parking. For the free trial class they offer a discount if you enroll within 24 hour in a step down approach with less of a discount as time passes. The commute alone was extremely difficult--about an hour during rush hour traffic--which made getting to class very stressful. When my daughter told me she no longer wanted to continue, I contacted the studio hoping we could come to some kind of reasonable agreement since she had only been enrolled for two weeks. Instead, I was told I was required to give 30 days notice. What was frustrating is that I do not recall signing or even receiving the studio's policies beforehand. In fact, the policies were not sent to me until February 6th, after I had already emailed them on February 2nd about canceling. The most upsetting part of the experience happened during my daughter's last class. She asked what time the class was going to end, and the instructor/director sarcastically told her "bye." My daughter is seven years old, and she came out of the class crying because she felt embarrassed and hurt. No child should be spoken to that way by an adult, especially in a children's activity where kids are supposed to feel supported and encouraged. I understand that studios have policies, but there should also be transparency and some level of understanding when a child has only attended for a short time. Between the lack of clear communication about policies and the way my daughter was treated, this experience was extremely disappointing.

Baila Fitness is an amazing fitness/dance studio in Pico Rivera. I stumbled across them by chance,…read moreand my friend and I went religiously until life got in the way. If you're looking for good vibes, good music, and great dance classes/strength training classes, COME HERE! They offer dance classes and weight training classes for early risers (5am, 6am, 9am) and are open again in the afternoons/evenings (5pm - 10pm, I believe). You can drop in for a class or you can buy a punch card for 10 classes. They take cash and Zelle (since I've been there, they might have other payment options), but their dance instructors are phenomenal, and the strength training instructors are also amazing. The owners (Patty & Adrian) are there working hard to make sure their location continues growing and thriving, and they are the most motivating, caring people you could ask for in a fitness environment (no matter how much I griped about another rep or pushing myself lol). My only complaint is that they are not located closer to where I live so that I can continue working out at their amazing studio! Otherwise, they are very much involved in the community and will even host fundraising events and holiday-themed classes. I strongly recommend you check them out on Instagram or TikTok for their most current schedules and classes -- they respond quickly and will also happily provide information to you if you need more info. Go to Baila Fitness if you're local -- you won't regret it! :)

It's so close, convenient and located in a plaza with over a dozen nail salons and a sprinkling of food/drink places. A perfect plaza to kill time for a parent who is waiting for their child that is taking dance classes in these studios. For those who would like to be present as their kid takes class, these studios also have a great seating area to observe the lessons. They have just recently expanded classes for older kids and adults. A great way for the adults to move their bodies, get their groove back on, and burn some calories. To top it off, DanceLA just opened up another studio two doors down to accommodate more classes. The recent open house showcased this beautiful space. This place has friendly, encouraging, and supportive dance teachers who are skilled in teaching students of all ages. There is also ample parking in the adjacent structure. Local, reasonably priced, with friendly, kind, staff members, is a winner in my book. Check this place out! Whether you're a youngster just starting out, a former dancer looking to move again, or an older newbie that wants to move their body for fun, DanceLA is the place for you. Check them out and support local businesses.

In…read moregeneral I'm quite picky about dance instructors (or teachers in general), so if the instructors are not good (patient, explains well, helpful, fun, welcoming, etc), I end up dropping off quite soon. It just took me a few minutes to feel the good vibe and warm, supportive, family-like environment they create in theses classes. And I keep training with him and his associates ever since. Theirs are some of the best classes I have attended in several years. Independently of your level, these classes are exciting and fun/challenging. All levels are welcome, and everybody have a lot of fun. Often newcomers (including people who are trying bachata or salsa or general dancing for the first time) get to do the mini sequence which includes intermediate steps. All the moves are intended to be practicable at social dancing. Warm up, core exercise and stretching is included at the beginning of each class, followed by drills and techniques, and a routine to be performed at local Latin dancing clubs and festivals/congresses. However, performing is completely optional. If you would like to perform but feel you don't have the level, they will help you to get there. Training with them I passed from my plateau of intermediate/just ok level at social dancing to performance level and getting complemented by many of my dancing partners at social events. So it is not only for beginners. Intermediate or seasoned dancers will benefit from these classes as well. The instructors are energetic, fun and very helpful; they create a fun, welcoming, easy-going atmosphere that everybody enjoys. If you struggle with a particular step, they will go over and over with you, with different approaches, until you get it. They don't give up on you, and no one is left behind. For them, the students and the team is like a family, and so they promote similar values. Even in other cities/states where they go to teach workshops at dance festivals, they are loved, admired and followed. Some people would travel from another state or from out of the country to attend their workshops. All this apply to each one of their instructors: Arden Ebalo, Erika Saucillo, Jessica Trujillo, Gracie Flores and Tony Flores. All of them are exceptional at what they do, both teaching and performing, and they do it in a fun and warm way. As their old saying tells: once a "questie", always a "questie". That is how people feels about this team of instructors. Just one warning: if you try it, you'll love it! What are you waiting for? If you are curious, give it a try. The first class is free.

They never answer their phones. Good luck trying to find hours/days and class schedules.read more

My dancer is going into her 3rd year with them and I continue to be impressed with the talent of the teachers. I don't have a dance background, but from what I can see the curriculum is thoughtfully planned so that the students have a solid foundation in movement which is built on as they get into more complicated choreography. I'm really happy with my daughter's progress as a little ballerina. The prices here are the most reasonable in the area, especially considering the high caliber of teachers on staff (I looked into the other studios in town before deciding on Dance Image). Also, the owner is great! She is super nice and always keeps in mind what is best for the kids while respecting families and students. It's a wonderful studio with integrity and caring for all of their students.  Their attention to detail in classes and recital (highly recommend!) is impressive. Some words of advice: show up on time, wear the appropriate 'uniform' (each level has its own dancewear requirements) and make sure the bun is clean and tight. The teachers hold you to a high standard that shows just how much they value you.

Feels like there's a money grab whenever possible. Strict dressing rules for the younger kids was off putting but tolerable. The worst part is the teacher we had. I can't speak to how other teachers were but Jessica was not a good one. She consistently didn't help correct students on proper movement and provided little instruction. It was like she was robotically gliding through the classes and the children would get confused or bored. I doubt any kid learned a thing about dancing in that class. Only good thing I liked was that my daughter found it ok to be on her own without me in a class setting which will help her feel more independent when it comes to school time. Another scary thing are the stairs to go into the studio. The hand rails have huge gaps that people, especially kids, can easily fall through.
