Leaving my comment just to support the business owner in regards to the issue with transitions. Witnessing and learning details about this whole situation, I feel sorry for the owners of Vibes bc I feel like they took the blame for the previous owner of the Rowland location. The owner of vibes tried their best to accommodate members from the previous business (who actually charged these members annual pass fee and committed to provide services) while they did not receive any payment. If anything what's fair would be for these member to reach out to the previous owner who charged them for the annual pass rather than giving the owner of vibes la a hard time by causing a mess and being rude intentionally on the group chat.

The owner is not only a talented dancer and instructor, but also someone who genuinely cares about creating a welcoming community for students of all levels. Her K-pop choreography classes are always energetic, fun, and well-structured, and I've learned so much from them. What I appreciate most is the positive atmosphere. Whether you're a beginner or have dance experience, everyone is encouraged to learn and improve without feeling intimidated. Running a dance studio is not easy, and I've seen firsthand how much passion, effort, and dedication goes into making every class enjoyable. I'm grateful to have been part of this community for so many years and highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for quality dance training and a supportive environment.

The commute alone was extremely difficult--about an hour during rush hour traffic--which made getting to class very stressful. When my daughter told me she no longer wanted to continue, I contacted the studio hoping we could come to some kind of reasonable agreement since she had only been enrolled for two weeks. Instead, I was told I was required to give 30 days notice. What was frustrating is that I do not recall signing or even receiving the studio's policies beforehand. In fact, the policies were not sent to me until February 6th, after I had already emailed them on February 2nd about canceling. The most upsetting part of the experience happened during my daughter's last class. She asked what time the class was going to end, and the instructor/director sarcastically told her "bye." My daughter is seven years old, and she came out of the class crying because she felt embarrassed and hurt. No child should be spoken to that way by an adult, especially in a children's activity where kids are supposed to feel supported and encouraged. I understand that studios have policies, but there should also be transparency and some level of understanding when a child has only attended for a short time. Between the lack of clear communication about policies and the way my daughter was treated, this experience was extremely disappointing.

Ms Amma and Ms Shayna were incredible teachers. They were nurturing yet firm and they broke the dance moves down to ones that all the kids could follow. I liked their approach. First teach them the dance steps, then focus on perfecting them and teaching them expressions. Then practice....practice...practice.... Also love that they do a big production every year so the kids get the feel of how a show runs....and it ran seamlessly as many people around me in the audience commented. I highly recommend them.

I have wanted my daughter to begin at a very early age where she can enjoy the music and choreography and have no stress about competing with her peers. Ms Shikha has a good heart and she ensures that all of the kids that she teaches feels confident, beautiful and have the skills and potential to dance. Shikha's studio is non competitive but she does have big performances. Yes with the cute costumes, accessories, hair done and glitter. It's very organized and the kids work very hard to prepare themselves for it. It's a very good place to go if you're child is very young or you're just starting out and do not want to feel intimidated or less of a dancer. There's no ballet here but hip hop, so if you want to get your child motivated and to just let loose, be themselves and have fun, this a great place. Most kids (and mine) don't like ballet so we did have to find another place to take lessons. I really hope that Shikha does eventually branch out and can provide more classrooms and styles of dance.

Communication and the clarity are poor. The experience with violin instructor, Ana, was unpleasant. She showed little patience to the point where my daughter was put off the violin. It's hard to rate this place like any other music school or business in the area. Its function (not…read moreits "mission") is to teach arts and music to the community at a very reasonable rate (the community is rather underprivileged and this place is a real gem). So what is it that they offer? It seems like everything under the sun. They have a choir, a folklorico group (I think), and some other public/non-enrolled groups. Quality teachers instruct in instrumental education at a reduced rate for kids, including but not limited to strings, woodwinds (though I see less of them and haven't seen any brass players, but you probably should call to find out), piano and percussion. They are also respected for their voice instruction, as Alison Iraheta from American Idol some seasons ago was instructed here. However, it's not just instrumentation and music that they teach, they also have a drama class and several other seasonal rotating classes. Additionally, one of the most spectacular things about this school is their summer camp program (camp MusArt). The program has some great staff and instructors, and they usually have two months (1 section per month) and a production for each section (a fully staged musical) by the kids. Howe we, last summer they were only able to manage one section because LAUSD has screwed up their schedules with their budget issues forcing kids to go back to school at different times. The last show was the Wizard of Oz, prior to that they've done Mary Poppins, the Lion King, Mulan, West Side Story, etc. every year it's a treat for the kids to participate. Nothing can replace the quality they provide on such a reasonable level. Arts need more support, check out what you can do to help at http://www.lamusart.org
