I normally go with Stephanie, but since she wasn't in I went with Amy and I gotta say I had the best experience with Amy. I love her massages. I love everything about what she does with a pedicure. She's been going here for a few months now and likes to see a gal named Anna. I haven't been to a nail salon in over a year because I lost my trust in a particular place when I caught a toe nail fungus :,( My actual experience/review: Our overall total came out to $70. She got a clear polish mani pedi and I ended up getting a French tip pedi. Her total was $30 and mine came out to $40?? Apparently it's because I had okayed some "extras", bath salts/lotion/hot towel wrap. Was not aware of the extra cost. I suppose that's my fault for not asking if it would cost extra... The gal that was doing my pedicure asked me if I wanted spearmint or some other scent bath salts. I'm used to nail salons giving you a service menu prior to starting, this place did not. When it came down to polish color they didn't show me any options (but they did show my friend, even tho she only ever asks for a light pink ), the gal just asked what color I wanted. I responded with white. Next thing I know, I'm looking down and I have French tips?! Not sure how white translated into French tips...? But overall I am satisfied with the look and service I was provided. At the end while I was waiting for my pedicure to dry, they offered us complementary water. Looks like they've remodeled. When I was looking at reviews and the photos of the inside I noticed their walls were green, they are now a tan/brown. The pedi chairs and mani stations have also been revamped. It seemed like a clean establishment. I'd most definitely come back if I ever need a basic pedi. No extras! Just a nail trim and one color polish. I found Montclair Nails one day a few months back when I was looking for a nail salon that was open on Sunday. I enjoyed the experience so now it's the only salon I go to. The service is always amazing, but what prompted me to get on Yelp today was something my nail tech Stephanie did. * I went in today with a specific color in mind based on a post I'd seen online. As I was going through the nail color options available, I didn't see a color matched the color I was looking for. Instead of changing my mind, I asked Stephanie for help. Stephanie also couldn't find the color. Instead of encouraging me to select another color, Stephanie decided to mix two colors to come up with the PERFECT match. To ensure the two colors would match the photo I showed her, Stephanie took a brand new nail tip, painted it one color, dried it under the UV light, painted the second color on top, dried it under the UV light and put a matte coat on top of those two colors, placed it under the UV light and dried it. After the trial run, we both were very impressed and she proceeded to paint my nails. * I live about 50 miles away from Montclair and I will make the drive to have Stephanie do my nails. **Please note that you may have to wait awhile because they're always busy, but your nails will look amazing. Go when you're not in a rush.** Stephanie goes out of her way to make the customers feel welcomed and seen and Jessica is the nicest person ever and does the BEST pedicures. read more

Narrow, Square, Gel No. 152! BAM! I love the temperature - it's always cool, and they always plays the best shows on Netflix - so I'm entertained. By far my favorite thing though - Nikki, she's become my friend and therapist, and consistently gives me a bomb massage when she gives me a manicure. She cleans up my eye brows too! Lines them up perfect. She's quick, makes me laugh, and knows what I need. In addition, EVERY pedicure I've received from several of their techs - they put me to sleep EVERYTIME! What the f#@*!! Honestly, my mind is blown right now. I walked in and everyone knew each other, all the clients and technicians were one a first name basis so I think to myself returning customers mean good business. Wrong! The prices are good but I'm so beyond unsatisfied. The technician that took care of me took a very long time, I had to keep asking him to round my shape more. I Showed him my first image as a reference to what I wanted. He laughed and said he didn't think they carried that color... Okay.... So he gives me a bunch of colors, I find one that looks similar. Cool. Then he starts with the acrylic, a massive glob of acrylic, I ask him to thin it out some to make it look a little more natural. Nope. Still these huge flat globs on my hands. Next he starts shaping my nails, coffin style. I kept telling him I wanted round nails and showed him the picture again. He says okay and then proceeded to square off my nails. Finally I give up and let him continue. Finally, he paints my nails. GIIIIIIIIRRRRRLLLLLLLLLL! Paint, everywhere, so uneven, I do a better job myself and to be completely honest I'll probably end up removing all of this paint, file and shape them myself and do a new coat. So I have been here once before was referred by my mother n a family friend liked the service the first time decided i would come back again this time i came n some lady was her with her child n their dog! Yes a dog! Mind u i have nothing against dogs or kids as i have a 6 years old lil girl who occasionally comes with me to get her nails done. Pros: the girl did a good job at scrubbing my feet and massage was good Con: they switched my manicurist 2 times, which I usually wouldn't mind but both did not do a very good job at ensuring my nails were clean. For both mani and pedi, they did not clean the dirt under my nails, my nails were not even, the skin around my nails were not cleaned, and the paint job was not very good. I felt like they gave me half effort because they figured I wouldn't know the difference between a good and bad job. I'm sorry to say I will not be returning to this location. read more
