Yet another company I will be filing out a complaint for review due to shoddy business practices to…read morethe Better Business Bureau. Yelpers...you let me down in a big way with these guys. I (mistakenly) chose them to move me from Scotts Valley to Sacramento. I made the arrangements back in March, and Francisco, the owner, quoted me $960 and said that he wouldn't charge me for the drive home. Perfect. I sent him an itemized list of furnishings and told him I'd contact him in May for the exact date in June. I mentioned that I'd need at least a 26' truck for the move. The two guys show up and hour late after stopping for breakfast in a 12' panel van with "Susan Bianchi Designs" on the side. I shook my head and told them to call Francisco. "Francisco: I need a 26' truck. What your guys are driving is not going to work." He says he'll bring one right over (from Mountain View). This takes him nearly 2hr, and it's soon obvious why: He'd gone to Budget to rent a truck, but it's only 16'. Me: Francisco, this is never going to fit all of my stuff. I told you that I needed a 26' truck. Francisco: A 26' truck won't fit up this road. Me: A 26' foot truck is what moved me in here. Francisco: A 26' foot truck won't fit up this road. Me: Are you listening? YES. IT. WILL. Francisco: All the other trucks are busy. Me: We made these arrangements in March. I need a bigger truck. The guys get to work loading everything that I'd already had staged outside the house, and they fill the truck very quickly. About 1/3 off my things are left. I ask Francisco what his solution is and he says that he'll make a second trip, but he'll have to charge me for it. Ya, think again pal. I said, "Francisco, this is not my problem; it's yours. I refuse to pay for your lack of planning." So...we agree he'll bring the rest of my things, including 2 racks of clothing that I'd hung and wrapped in syran, and a Suzuki scooter, the next day. After we get to my house and unload, the guys ask me for the cash (that Francisco told me he needs to pay the guys) that I owe them, and I tell them that I'm not paying them a dime until I get my things. Francisco gets on the phone and yells at me, "ARE YOU OK? I NEED TO PAY FOR MY GUYS. YOU OWE ME AT LEAST HALF NOW!" (breathe) I told him what I told his workers, who were very pleasant, that there was no way I was giving him the $1250 he wanted (ya, he bumped up the number by $300 the day I met him--typical) until all my things were accounted for, and since he has NO contract or paperwork, our agreement exists only in Yelp emails. The next day, the team shows up to my old house an hour after they say they will, and my landlady was not pleased; what's worse is that they show up in the same stupid panel van that apparently belongs to Susan, and the thing has no ramp. What? NO RAMP? Nope. When they arrive in Sacramento, half of my wardrobe is strewed all the floor of this filthy vehicle. The syran wrap I'd wrapped the clothing in is gone (??), and he makes his team dead-life the 500+lb scooter off the end of the van, bringing a huge chunk of my clothing with it. I. Was. Pissed. I didn't hold back telling him how poorly this entire move has gone, and when I asked why he refuses to listen when his customer tells him what she needs, vis a vis the size of the moving truck, he tells me, "I can't afford a truck that size." That's when I sort of lost it...I said, "THEN YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN MY JOB, AND YOU SHOULDN'T BE IN THIS BUSINESS!" Lessons Learned: 1. Francisco has a nice team, but they have no idea what they're doing. Not even close. They are NOT professional movers: they have no trucks (I later learned), no contract, no moving dollies to roll furniture (said they didn't need them), and all-cash employees. Total amateurs. 2. Francisco does not listen, which is a shame when he lucks out with a customer who knows exactly what size truck will fit her stuff. 3. Francisco is no business man. He is making "it" up as he goes, and when it comes to one of the most stressful events of anyone's life, that isn't acceptable. Bottom Line: This was a total sh*t show. Save yourself the headache. Susan Bianchi: I have no idea how you are related to Francisco, but a word of advice: One day, you will be sued for something that his guys do with your truck due to their lack of professionalism and unsafe practices. Count on it.

I met Martin when he came to pick up a few bookcases I had sold via craigslist. The woman who…read morebought them had hired him to pick them up and deliver them. He was punctual, professional and just seemed like a good guy, so I made sure to get his info. When it was time for me to move to a new condo, I hired Martin and his team to help me with the move. They arrived on time, worked hard and were VERY careful with all of my things. For example, instead of just rolling a heavy round mirror down the hall, he picked it up and made sure it would not get damaged. Things that other moving companies I've hired in the past forget! They are also fully insured, which is required of most condo buildings in the city. The move was efficient, and his entire three-man crew was professional and polite. I'd hire them again for any moving job in a heartbeat. (Make sure to tip them well!)

How do I give 5 stars + 5 stars for 10 stars!?…read more Carlos and Edgar were AMAZING and so so SO helpful. They were initially hired by my in-laws via Angi for a move from the Bay Area to the Sacramento greater area. They were both very kind and informative, worked quickly and efficiently, and handled all furniture and items with care. The total move took about 8 or 9 hours, and included moving the furniture back in and reassembly as needed, adding felt feet to the bottoms to protect hard floors, etc. We were really impressed with the work they did for my in-laws, and so we decided to hire them as well for our own similar move to the Sacramento area. We had a lot less furniture, but a TON of boxes, so our move took about 10 hours. They Tetris stacked it in such a way that the truck was full, top to bottom, left to right, wall to wall. Everything was secured, nothing was lost or damaged -- amazing considering that, during this never ending California drought, it was RAINING on our moving day!! They kept our items dry, no water damage, and drove carefully on the roads to get everything up to Sacramento safely. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for an affordable and careful mover!

In short, this is the best money we've ever spent. My partner found this company on Angi's List and…read morewe did some brief review searching, and I was stunned to see such a high rating on Yelp (since most people, myself included, typically don't leave a Yelp review unless there's something negative to say). We hired Bay Area Best Relocation Services for a full packing and moving job right at the new year. Carlos and his team were incredible: friendly, efficient, timely, and everything we could have hoped for. From the very beginning we were impressed by the genuine estimate that we got (we did a walk thru before the first day of packing, and Carlos was honest and said we'd likely need to do two full days since we had a bigger place and a lot of stuff like collectibles, kitchen appliances, etc.) They were scheduled to come between 8:30 and 9:30 on the first day, so from previous experience we expected them to be at the later end of that. On the contrary, they texted about 15 minutes before they arrived at 8:30 sharp, and promptly got to work. The two additional workers (Alonzo and Ernesto) introduced themselves and all three were super friendly and positive, and put us at ease (we were both super stressed and tired). Everything was packed and wrapped professionally and safely; they moved our house full of stuff over two days to our new place and even put "categories" of boxes in the new garage for us to make it way easier to unpack room by room. No broken glasses, no scratched walls or furniture, and each box they packed was labeled with the room and contents. (The fact that they provided their own boxes, tape, and packing materials was a HUGE help as well...we thought we'd bought enough boxes ourselves but we were way off.) I cannot recommend this service, or these people, enough: my partner and I were floored by the quality of service, the kind demeanor, and the speed and efficiency that Carlos, Alonzo, and Ernesto put into their work. I hope we don't have to move again for a long time, but when we do we are 100% calling them again. Huge thanks!

I will definitely recommend David, he is very professional, competent and he is nice :) If you are looking to move, you should go with him and you won't have to worry about anything, he is in charge and he delivers an excellent job. I called another highly rated moving company on Yelp and they wouldn't do more than give me an estimate by phone! To top it off, the "other" firm told me that their phone quote might vary by 30%!!! A1's packers took better care of packing our items than we did! Three guys packed up our entire 3 bedroom house in less than 8 hours --- and we have a lot of crap! And the amazing thing - nothing -- I mean NOTHING arrived to our new home damaged! On moving day, Mark and his crew showed up right on time and ready to go. Our move took a little longer than I expected (quoted 8-9 hours and it took 10) but I'm sure that had to do with the 100 degree plus weather on moving day! They worked their bu**s off!!!! I used PODs before and all my furniture and boxes arrived in good shape. That was not the case this time around. They were doing a good job initially but just didn't think it through as they filled the POD and I paid the price for not having a 2nd person watching them while I was busy. They also ran out of moving wrap (which they say they provide) and it became my problem since several of my lamp shades got dirty and dented from the move not to mention a few dented boxes. Unfortunately, at the end I was very disappointed with the low level of care and how the senior mover started taking calls and left the other mover working alone for a while. They had the nerve to charge me for 3 hours when it was barley 3 hours! If they had continued the way they started the job could have been completed in 2 or 2.5 hours at best!

First they did all the boxes which they were super fast loading into the truck. Then they wrapped and disassembled anything that needed to be. They removed legs off dressers to prevent them from being broke. They wrapped my sofa carefully, and dismantled my TV from the wall. I had a lot of mirrored furniture and a glass dining room table and they were all in excellent condition. Nothing was broken or missing, everything was as promised. My experience with Charles and his movers was not a positive one. I was moving from a 2 bedroom…read moreapartment to a new apartment 10 miles away. On the morning of the move, 3 movers showed up at around 8am. Initially things started out very well. The movers quickly moved all of our boxes from the 2 bedroom apartment to the ground floor. Once finished with the boxes, one of the movers continued to help me move non-boxed items (shelves, chairs, etc.) out of the apartment while the other two were out by the truck (parked roughly 100 feet away). After a while I went to see what the other two were up to, and one mover was inside the truck stacking boxes, while the other stood there and told him how to arrange/stack the boxes - incredibly inefficient way of doing things. Later on, one of the movers spent ~20 minutes going back and forth between the apartment and truck trying to find the right tools to take apart a bed frame. I then realized what was going on and told him it did not need tools to disassemble, and the bed frame can simply be pulled apart. The movers did not have any wardrobe boxes, so I had to come back to the old apartment later to load all of the clothes that remained on hangars into my car. Driving counts as double-time. I told the movers to follow me (I'd go slow), because the roads can be confusing where we are going, and I know the best route to the new apartment. As we are about to arrive, they deliberately change lanes out of the lane I am in, and take a turn in the opposite direction of the apartment. I arrived to the new apartment in 20 minutes, they arrived there in 40, so we were charged for 80 minutes worth for their commute. I asked what happened with driving, considering I was right in front of them, and I received an answer that didn't make any sense - they were simply wasting time. After the move was completed and the movers left, I finally got the chance to take a look at the damage: Rolling shelf dropped and 2 wheels broken off (this was the only thing damaged that was brought to my attention by the movers) Scratched dresser Ripped mattress Broken bookshelf 2 dents in walls of new apartment from move in Cost: over $600 to move our 2 bedroom apartment. Everything was already in boxes prior to the move.

These people advertise at my university and with them; I was told nothing but great things with them. They could work within my budget and everything. I called and right away they asked, how much could I spend. I told them my limit and they had the price right at my limit. They also charged my roommate the same amount where she got 2 less boxes than me. She called back and the man was rude to her; telling her she was getting a deal. But if I can get 5 boxes for the same price for 3, I am getting he better deal: not her. I don't like the whole open 6 hours time for pick up and drop off. In the beginning it was great, they came very early. But when it was drop off, I couldn't do anything in my day because I had a six hour window of when they came. They came 5 minutes before that window closed. When I called to get an idea where they were, they never check in with the guy; so he never know where they were. So I couldn't plan anything. I contacted them 2 weeks in advance and contacting them was impossible. It's a 2 week notice or you get charged 100$. I didn't want that, so I was on time with my email. But I had to contact them with two emails and a phone call before I got a hold of anyone. Plus, he didn't get my information right; was going to deliver a day before I got onto campus and wonder why I asked for that. Plus, I wrote a review here and they personally called me and told me that I should take down my bad review on them; that it could hurt their business. I am sorry, but that is what criticism is. You take it and make your company better but instead I got my stuff delivered last; where you should have tried and made a better impression and delivered it first or I wouldn't have written this back. I would advise not to use this company.
