How do I give 5 stars + 5 stars for 10 stars!? Carlos and Edgar were AMAZING and so so SO helpful. They were initially hired by my in-laws via Angi for a move from the Bay Area to the Sacramento greater area. They were both very kind and informative, worked quickly and efficiently, and handled all furniture and items with care. The total move took about 8 or 9 hours, and included moving the furniture back in and reassembly as needed, adding felt feet to the bottoms to protect hard floors, etc. We were really impressed with the work they did for my in-laws, and so we decided to hire them as well for our own similar move to the Sacramento area. We had a lot less furniture, but a TON of boxes, so our move took about 10 hours. They Tetris stacked it in such a way that the truck was full, top to bottom, left to right, wall to wall. Everything was secured, nothing was lost or damaged -- amazing considering that, during this never ending California drought, it was RAINING on our moving day!! They kept our items dry, no water damage, and drove carefully on the roads to get everything up to Sacramento safely. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for an affordable and careful mover! read more

In short, this is the best money we've ever spent. My partner found this company on Angi's List and we did some brief review searching, and I was stunned to see such a high rating on Yelp (since most people, myself included, typically don't leave a Yelp review unless there's something negative to say). We hired Bay Area Best Relocation Services for a full packing and moving job right at the new year. Carlos and his team were incredible: friendly, efficient, timely, and everything we could have hoped for. From the very beginning we were impressed by the genuine estimate that we got (we did a walk thru before the first day of packing, and Carlos was honest and said we'd likely need to do two full days since we had a bigger place and a lot of stuff like collectibles, kitchen appliances, etc.) They were scheduled to come between 8:30 and 9:30 on the first day, so from previous experience we expected them to be at the later end of that. On the contrary, they texted about 15 minutes before they arrived at 8:30 sharp, and promptly got to work. The two additional workers (Alonzo and Ernesto) introduced themselves and all three were super friendly and positive, and put us at ease (we were both super stressed and tired). Everything was packed and wrapped professionally and safely; they moved our house full of stuff over two days to our new place and even put "categories" of boxes in the new garage for us to make it way easier to unpack room by room. No broken glasses, no scratched walls or furniture, and each box they packed was labeled with the room and contents. (The fact that they provided their own boxes, tape, and packing materials was a HUGE help as well...we thought we'd bought enough boxes ourselves but we were way off.) I cannot recommend this service, or these people, enough: my partner and I were floored by the quality of service, the kind demeanor, and the speed and efficiency that Carlos, Alonzo, and Ernesto put into their work. I have never written a review on Yelp but felt like I needed to because Carlos and his team were so amazing!! We moved from an apartment in San Francisco to Seattle. It was our first time with a long distance move, and we got MANY (over 7 quotes) from many different companies to try to find a reasonable price for a quick moving time. Carlos moved us to Seattle over the weekend for an extremely reasonable price - he was on the lower end of the quotes we received AND he was one of the only teams that were able to promise us our own truck (so our belongings wouldn't get mixed up with anyone else's) and drive directly to Seattle. He did both a virtual walkthrough of our home (to give us a quote), and he did a in-person one to make sure he was prepared to move. All communication was excellent - any time we had a question or send him an email, we usually received a response or a call that same day. We completely trusted him with all our belongings. During our actual move, Carlos and his team were very speedy and careful. All of our furniture and boxes were in perfect condition when we got to Seattle. He gave us updates during his drive so we knew when he'd get here. In Seattle, we had moved to a three floor townhouse, and so he and his team needed to disassemble furniture to bring it safely up - and they did without a problem. Despite the three flights of stairs, they were done within three hours - exactly what he had thought. It's clear the Carlos and his team have an immense amount of experience with moves. I hired Carlos and his team at Bay Area's Best Relocation Services to move an electric piano from San Jose to San Diego for my daughter's birthday. The other two companies I talked to said it would probably be multiple months before they would have more than one delivery to Southern California (to make the move affordable for me). I finally called Carlos and he apologized that the soonest he could do it was a few weeks (which was PERFECT as it was a couple days after my daughter's birthday). He and his team were on time, safely wearing masks and they carefully wrapped the piano in a blanket and saran wrap and secured it with straps in the large covered truck with the other customer's load. I hired Carlos's company to move my STAIRMASTER from my parents home to my new apartment. Carlos and his team pulled up earlier then their scheduled time and waited patiently for me even after I was late. Carlos was super friendly and even moved other furniture out of the way (and put it back after) to get to my BIG GIANT STAIRMASTER of almost 500 lbs. Their team systematically and carefully moved my stairmaster which was not an easy task. They were super friendly and courteous. I was super anxious and worried about any damage, but Carlos kept me calm and told me it's going to be all alright. Getting it into my apartment on 3rd floor was no easy task but they did it.. The toughest was getting it through my front door, but they even managed to get it through that. They even helped me figure out the best place to put it in my small apartment. They were the best and Carlos has definitely become my favourite go-to-guy if I ever need help with moving. I definitely recommend him to all. Carlos even fixed my shower head for free. The kindest gesture was when he was teaching my son how to fix the shower head along the way. A humble, kind and honest man, I recommend him to everyone who needs help with moving. OK. How do I start, if I could, I wish I could give them 3 stars to get the job done and average attitude, not quite rude. But I can't help but compare them with my previous moving experiences and I think they only deserved 2 stars. I am curious actually where the all other 6 5-star reviews from, if you are first time hiring a mover with no comparison then maybe. So long story short, it is unacceptable for them to move me from Burlingame to Millbrae (both 1 bd-room) for 7 hours!!! what get my nerves were how unprofessional they are. They didn't charge less than other company ($105/2 people/hour), but they provide no moving/protective materials but several big cloth wardrobe boxes to "throw in" loose items. And the loose items they threw in not really "loose" sometimes, just smaller boxes which made me wonder what's the logic to make yourself move from this item into big box and then move again? And Armando is one of the mover there, the other is Fred. Their argument is they are constantly work but reality is the efficiency is no better than your average friends! C'mon guys, I have moved many times, when young I moved with my friends and it NEVER took me more than 6 hours to move. And when I hired someone to help, usually it's done in 3-4 hours MAX! So I have had two moving companies before, one is not on yelp, let me called it A. The other is The Small Delivery Co. while I was in LA. Both companies charged me $65/2 people/hour (the rate is as good as last December), so they already charged less, and they moved much faster. They provided packing and wrapping materials too. And they are fast. Armando and Fred on the other hand are slow. Very slow. Yes they are working, but working slow. And inefficient. Yes at the end for 7 hours of work he only charged me 6 hours with 10% discount, but still, cost me $600 (+10% tips), which made it $660. Again, when in LA I moved from a 2-bd room apartment and it only took movers 4 hours to move everything, and we were less prepared that time but movers just packed everything efficiently with wrapper. Armando and his guy just slowly threw small boxes into big boxes, and took them 20 min each trip to load the truck. That's just not professional mover do things. So at the end of the day, I spent more than double the amount of money I used to pay when hiring movers, and very unhappy about it. ONE LAST THING, they also broke my desk, because they said they are trying to rush because I am unhappy. And Armando even said if he got an hour he sure can dissemble it the right way, I was almost speechless when I heard that. It took me 30 min to assemble a $200 desk from Office Depot, and will take you one hour to dissemble it?? Not even completely dissemble. And because you don't have one hour (which is not true, you got SEVEN long hours!), you broke it? That's how ridiculous they are. So do yourself a favor, avoid them if possible, there are better ones out there I am sure. Just my bad luck. read more

i know as a consumer it's shady when there aren't many reviews and they are all positive, but i swear i was not paid to write this!! =) originally referred by coworkers in Sept '08 and they moved me from Mountain View to SF...including nasty townhouse stairs in south bay to a busy street (Oak/Octavia!) in SF. really nice about it. Armando hurt his hand but still came to supervise; though didn't charge for an extra body called them up for advice for movers May'10 since I needed to move across the country. suggested packing my stuff in storage near him then they'd pack a freight for me (which is cheaper). ...couldnt pull that but they did do an amazing job for me - grabbed my stuff from SF apt and basically played Tetris with a 6x7x8 relo cube from ABF at the terminal in Oakland (avoided permit to put that thing on my street). always on time. always save with your stuff. very honest (don't round up; charged down to he 15 min!) and sweet guys to talk to. I don't know how Armando Movers/Bay Area Relocation was able to get such good reviews. I wouldn't give a single star if that was possible. They were a no show. I called last week and spoke with a guy named Carlos to book the move. I was repeated assured that the movers would show up at noon, if not earlier, for a 3 hour move. Carlos told me how they are bonded and insured, and all of his movers are real professionals, and he will make sure that I have a trouble free move. I called yesterday and spoke to Carlos to confirm the moving schedule and was assured again that they will show up at noon and that they would call me at 10am to let me know their status. Nope. Noon rolls around on moving day and nobody showed up. I thought maybe they got the wrong address, so I called and left a very detailed message about my address and asked that they to call me when they arrived. 1pm rolls around, no call back and no moving trucks. Now it's 2 pm and every time I call, I get the voicemail message that the mail box is full. I called 8 times over the course of 2 hours hoping I would be able to speak to someone before I gave up. I have a moving deadline and I must have my furniture out of the apt by the end of the night. I imagine that many people who need to move apts are in the same boat as me. To have a "professional moving" completely disregard its customer like this is unthinkable. It entirely possible that they were held up or something is causing a delay, but at least have the curtesy to call me back! I will never use them again and I will warn my friends against them, too. read more

If you've used high priced large moving services in the past, they might not meet some of your lofty expectations for less important details like coordinated uniforms and tagging/cataloging every item they pack/touch/move. We hired Armando and his team to load our truck for a cross country move. He was very helpful from the start hooking us up with his friends in the industry to get us a better rate on our truck. The day of the move Armando and his team (Tony and Tony) showed up on time and ready with dollies, shrink-wrap and furniture pads. We had to load a two-plus bedroom apartment into a 16 foot truck, and it needed to be staged because some items were going into storage when we reached our destination and some were not. Tony and Tony staged all the storage items to load into the truck and Armando loaded it himself being sure to use the space as efficiently as possible (my husband joked that he must have played a lot of tetris as a child). They managed to cram all our stuff into that truck when I was sure we were going to have to leave some behind. All three were very attentive to my requests for what needed to be easily accessible and were sure to place those items at the back of the truck. Armando kept very good track of who was working when, and only charged me the two mover rate when one of the Tonys took a 30 minute break. I didn't have to ask or check-in on them, and I had no concerns about the safety of my items or the speed at which they were working. As a previous reviewer mentioned, Armando is very honest, and does not round up. He charged down to the 1/4 hour. Overall Armando and the Tonys did a great job. They have very reasonable rates (much better than others I had considered), and the shrink-wrap, tape, etc. was included in the rate. That is not so with many other companies, so it was a welcome advantage. They did a great job, and I highly recommend them. read more
