Gross, burnt, rock hard 'donuts' with mystery sauce from hell. They're perfect...for my garbage can.

Waited over 45 minutes for food. When my fish and chips came, there was a long black hair underneath my coleslaw--disgusting!! The manager came out and said they would make a new one, and they did, but it was the worst thing I ever tasted. The batter was not even fully cooked. Since we waited nearly an hour to be served (at lunch time with only three tables full), the manager said she would include desert for free. Wow, I thought, that's very nice. Until the order came. The donuts were BLACK, burnt, and cold. The waffles were indescribable-- it was only one piece, burnt, and cut in half (I can't believe this actually happened...I'm shocked that this low quality of food actually is served in Canada)-----please see photos for proof. I'm not lying about how crappy this place is. I hope they sell gift cards, because they're awesome to give at Christmas to people you hate. I wouldn't serve those 'deserts' to a death row inmate. Regardless, I still left a tip because I felt bad for the incredibly nice waitress (Logan) who was completely at no fault for the disgusting quality her cook was serving out. Maybe I should also say that the table next to ours also returned two steak mains back to the kitchen because it was "the rarest uncooked thing" the guy ever saw. Apart from this place being a health hazard, the $100 I spent for four people would have been better spent at a high quality restaurant--like Milestones. Never again will I step foot in that red neck hell hole. What a waste of money and disgusting excuse for food. To Montana: Fire the cook and kitchen staff if you want to survive as a business. Just saying. Food is disgusting and portions are measly. (I mean $30 for a sliver of steak half the size of my palm and a tablespoon of coleslaw is outrageous---I would have never ordered it if I knew it looked like that. Unfortunately the picture in the menu looked nothing like what I was served. Pathetic. If I could rate this restaurant a 0/5, I would).

The place is cozy and staff are polite. But if you're going for food, I wouldn't recommend it as the quality is really poor.

I really enjoyed the restaurant. The steak I ordered was done exactly to my specifications. The order came quickly from the kitchen.

We both went for the Double Smoked…read moreBacon Benedict, and I added the Chicken Chowder on the side since I was starving after the drive. The place has a classy feel, with a space that's thoughtfully laid out and comfortable to sit in. Really loved the overall vibe. That, along with attentive service and solid food, made for a great experience. Everything was above standard, and I appreciated not just the quality and portion size, but also how fair the pricing was. Only small note is that the salad on the side felt a bit generic. Nothing wrong with it, but didn't quite match the level of the rest of the meal. The Chicken Chowder, on the other hand, was a total surprise. Hearty, comforting, and just full of that savory kind of goodness. It was so well done, I honestly wish they served it in XXL size. Overall, it's a lovely spot I'd be happy to come back to. Feels like the kind of place that gets the little things right without trying too hard.

I got the cornmeal trout and chips and my partner got the cheeseburger. We both agreed that the fries here were absolutely delicious! They were perfectly fried in my opinion and had that salty tasty crunch. I think the trout was alright for me personally. Maybe because I'm just so used to fried haddock when I get fish and chips. The service was great and our server was very attentive. I will say I think the ambiance is quaint and cute but I think I was just a bit thrown off by a few minor things (i.e., water was lukewarm, the chair I sat on had a few crumbs, etc.) nothing huge and probably doesn't bother anyone but me. I'd go again for the fries and to try out something from the brunch menu.

Milestones - Harissa chicken is very tasty!

*Shameful service leaving two 90+yr olds without a Christmas dinner*…read moreWe called Milestones at the Boardwalk first, detailing our wish to have a nice steak dinner delivered to two nonagenarians (as a treat for them from the bland Meals on Wheels dinners, they usually get). We live out of town and could not deliver ourselves. They told us to pre-order with Skip The Dishes. We filled out the online form with 'Skip' on December 22nd, with a 4:45 to 5:15 pm delivery window. Gave explicit detailed instructions for delivery including their phone number for building access, reference to them being elderly and added a good tip. Total bill was $135.90 We rec'd a phone call from the Skip driver at 8:15 pm on the 24th. Saying he could not get them to answer their phone to let him in. Well guess why? That was 3 hours later than the pre-determined delivery window. He then told us he had just received the delivery notice from Milestones 20 minutes earlier!! Huh?? Well, by that time they had eaten a self-prepared simple meal and the woman had gone to bed. The man was on his way to bed. We started calling their apartment ourselves, and finally the 93-year old man buzzed the driver in. He was pretty upset and disappointed. Too late to try and eat it, he had a peak at the food and was surprised to see such a small offering of food. The "mixed grill" of vegetables was according to him - a raw carrot and a couple of peas. He told us that he would have to make a side dish himself in order to make the meal enough to eat. When they attempted to eat the dinner the next day described the steak as "black" on the outside and "raw" on the inside, and incredibly tough to chew. Over the next 3 days, we tried to call Milestones and speak to the manager "Gavin". We were repeatedly assured he would call us "the next day". On the 3rd day, we spoke to someone identifying himself as the head cook, and he told us to call 'Skip', but that he would still have Gavin call on the 27th. Surprise, surprise - no call. An online chat with a 'Skip' employee (Nicole B.) resulted in many apologies and a whopping refund of $57.00. I was repeatedly told by Nicole that Skip's company policy did not allow her to give back a full refund. And only food costs are covered. I asked to escalate to Admin, and she ended the chat window. And we just finally got through to a managerial assistant at Milestones, who denies any responsiblity (even for the poor quality of the food) blaming it all on 'Skip'. Kept telling us to call them. I kept telling her we had. And reminded her that it was Milestones who told us to use 'Skip' in the first place. Bah Humbug both to Milestones and to Skip the Dishes.

We were advised that a 20% tip would be automatically apply, which we understand. We were seated for about 10 minutes before the waitress arrived and provided us with water. Another 15-20 minutes before the waitress returned to take our drink orders and another 15-20 minutes before the drinks arrived. Another 20 minutes and the waitress arrived to take our food order. The food came in a reasonable timeframe with one order mix-up, but it was cleared up with no issues. We only had one waitress for 15 people and we believe this contributed to the long delays in between, seating, water, bar drinks, ordering food and finally the bill (which we finally had to go ask for). While as mentioned above, we understood the 20% tip would be automatically added to the bill, we were surprised that the tip was added to the after tax bill! My understanding is that the tip is added BEFORE taxes. The ladies washroom had four toilets that were not flushing and the only functioning toilet was the handicap one. I'm not sure anyone was aware of this as it appeared there was no one in the bar area to report this problem. Finally, the waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. My view was that she didn't have enough support in order to provide timely service. There was another significant delay

A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

Upon entering, the space is super spacious and clean. My friend ordered their 2 egg special with bacon, and I ordered their soup and sandwich combo ($12/13). Amazing food and great service, I would like to come back and try some of their dinners dishes.
