They were careful and did a walk through to ensure they would have minimal issues with getting to the basement apartment with a difficult turn, before they brought it down. Much cheaper than a muscular place that also wanted to charge for trailer rental on top of labor.

What many people do not know is that Mayflower is essentially a broker, and so depending on your location, the moving company you get through them could be fantastic, or could be incredibly unethical and disastrous. I specifically sought out Suhr Transport because of their reputation in my area, and they happen to be affiliated with Mayflower. Ric Mauseth is an extremely professional, knowledgeable and efficient leader. Everything he told me would happen, happened, and he didn't give me any information or promises he knew he couldn't keep. His estimate was spot on, and there were no charges above what he quoted after the move was complete. The foreman for the loading, as well as two other movers, Lonny and Chip, arrived on time and worked diligently and carefully. The driver, and his son, who also helped load, arrived exactly on time on the date they said they would, and within the estimated delivery dates I was given when I signed the binding estimate. The last thing the foreman said before leaving my house after loading the truck, was "Don't worry, your stuff is safe with us." He held onto his promise, and even though my belongings had to be unloaded and reloaded and paired with several other deliveries, every box and piece of furniture were accounted for, and there was no damage worth claiming (sundry scuffs and scratches in out of sight areas of one or two items of furniture that anyone would expect from any move). Heirloom furniture that went onto the truck in antique and fragile condition came off the truck in fantastic shape and well cared for. I cannot recommend this company enough. This is a commercial ISO standard shipping container. The same ones you see on the highway or being shipped off around the world. Not some flimsy cube or overpriced 3rd party shipper. Your dealing with shipping terminals and drivers that do this for a living. Both our pickup and drop off drivers had been top notch. Really great. Our stuff was exactly as we left it when we unloaded it. Hardly any shifting. The container we had contained 6 shipping straps. These are used to hold your goods in place. They connect to each side of the containers inner walls. They clip or snap in depending on which bracket you decide to use. There is a plywood wall that goes up separating your goods from the next load if there is room. There are all so ceiling braces that come down to stabilize your shipment. We put up a few planks of personal plywood to create shelving in one section of the truck for furniture and smaller odds and ends. You do have to call each step of the way though. That includes initial drop-off, initial pickup, final drop-off, and final pickup. That part of it could have been a bit more clear. But all the interactions along the way had been superior. The cost was realistic and fair. Prior moves (and there have been plenty over the years) have been considerably higher and far more taxing). If you have a home full of stuff spend the money and do it right. If your in an apartment and moving to the other side of town the other guys may be the way to go. We will be calling again for the return trip.

When we contacted the owner I was told that they accept no liability and that I should turn a claim into my homeowner's insurance. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
