Constantly losing floor plans and material decisions. The people installing the tile, carpet and backsplash were great, and did good work. The issue was Carol micro managing them and changing things we hadn't approved. The entire process was incredibly stressful, and make 1000 times worse every time we had to communicate anything to Rich's. Rather than have to deal with them at all, we hired different contractors to fix mistakes.

They did vinyl plank flooring in the bathroom and hallway. They did vinyl tile in the kitchen and laundry room and new carpeting in the living room. Aaron came by before we started this part of our project and made sure that we were good with his schedule and what we needed to have ready. His guys were great too. They were very good about making sure that the house was cleaned up and everything was back in place when they left. I would highly recommend them to anyone with flooring installation needs.

I hired him on Nov 25th; he wanted payment in full ($300), so I went against my better judgment and paid him. He said he'd be back in the morning and took my lights so I wouldn't have to leave work to meet him. Never saw him after that. Texted him numerous times and just got excuses and promises to show up. It's 18 days later and he has my money (he cashed the check the next day) and kept the lights. He also pulled a check scam on my 87 year old mother and stole an additional $450 from her. Never finished the work there, either. I had to file a police report. AVOID! Update: Gunnar keeps claiming he initiated refunds on 12/2; it's 12/13 and no signs of a refund in our bank accounts. He did bring back my lights today and gave me cash (one string isn't working now and was $2 short, but I can live with that) , but he wants me to remove my posts. Essentially, he wouldn't make good until I posted here and elsewhere, then suddenly he sprang into action and was very repentant. So yes, he did make good - but it wasn't on his own initiative.

We started with the carpet because that was the worse of the three. In talking to my mom, who lives here, she suggested we find and support local business' in home refresh. We chose Pierce Flooring. We walked in and was greeted by Jon Knaub. I'm going to be honest; I usually stray away from the salespeople because we've had a few incidences where they follow you at a close distance, not allowing you to enjoy the process of picking our furniture, appliances, etc. That being said, Jon was the total opposite. He asked what we were looking for, directed us and allowed us to take our time and feel right in our pick. He answered our questions in detail and even threw down a few rugs to show us how our pick would look with different wall colors. We made an appointment for Jon to come to our home to take measurements. We then went back in to pay for carpet and upon a second look we ended up choosing a different carpet, which we love. All in all, Jon and the Pierce Flooring family was a joy to work with, straight forward, NO upselling, and allowing us to stroll through their store at our pace without being badgered. It's important to note that we have returned and are now working on choosing an LVP, with Jon as our store contact. We have had to point out unique considerations for appliances that the designer did not catch even after supplying the appliance model numbers. In the end, the cabinets were good quality but the customer experience has been so poor I cannot recommend them.

She took me through baby steps. I took samples home numerous times to make sure I made the right choice. She made the process a lot easier than I expected.
