The wait time for this ride is hit or miss. You just have to check the app for the short wait times. We waited about 15 mins, not too bad. This ride is for all ages. You ride a taxi cab around Monstropolis to see what Mike and Sully got into. This was a cute ride. I heard that this ride will be closing for good. Not sure when, but it will be soon. My family and I always look forward to riding Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! The ride is located on the Disney's California Adventure side in Hollywood Land. It is a slow moving ride in a yellow taxi cab that takes you along Mike and Sulley's adventure of returning Boo to her door. You jump right in your cab just in time to hear that a human kid is on the loose in Monstropolis! I like seeing all of the animatronics and little details throughout the ride. It is a ride for all ages, but definitely caters more to the younger guest as there is no height requirement. The wait time can be busy, but they offer a fast pass on the Disneyland app! Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will be closing permanently in early 2026 to make room for a new Avatar area. This was a pretty fun ride and my kids loved it. It pretty much goes through what the movie shows and takes you through monsters land. The line was pretty long though. I think everyone is trying to get on this ride before it closes this year. The ride seems like its out dated but it can use a revamp. L I N E S The lines can be horrible to walk on. So keep an eye out on the app for wait times. I wouldn't wait longer than 15 minutes for this ride. They do have a buddy pass for this ride. So take advantage. E X P E R I E N C E it's a track ride a la dark suite. You're basically going through the Monster's Inc. movie. So if you love the movie. This is a ride you're going to love. It's cute. O V E R A L L Again, it's one of those rides where if lines are short and it's hot, a good place to cool down. It's not a ride that makes you nauseated which is always a plus. We rode it again this time around maybe for the last time as rumor around the park is it is closing relevatively shortly. I believe avatar is suppose to take its place. You wouldnt know it, because this ride is super popular with wait times exceeding 2 hours at times. We did lightning pass early in the day and it was reserved all the way until 630pm at night. Located at California Adventures and hidden. This ride is perfect for kids, those who are not ride inclined or get dizzy with spinning rides, it is very gentle and depicts the 1st movie clearly. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue ride is such a cute ride for all ages. It is located in the Hollywood Backlot of DCA. There are restrooms near by and there's bar with seasonal offerings, there's also a rotating food truck near by and a small outdoor theater for those who want to sit this ride out and want shade. The que seems to go between fast and slow. Overall it depends on so many varying factors. There's some shade in the cue and it has an overflow que that is outdoors. The inside que is themed. The ride is a dark ride but not scary dark. The ride is not a fast rollercoaster. You can take babies on this ride. The ride is themed after the movie and takes you through all the main scenes from the movies. On my trip in September I was told they were going to get rid of this ride so if you are a fan you better get there and enjoy it before they get rid of it. read more

A cute ride to bring out a smile. The movie is captured well with fun twists and turns and every major part of the adventure displayed. Located close to the main entrance, right across the interactive stage area with bench seating. Wait times can be a little long but if you get it just right lines are much shorter. Such a fun ride for all ages. The set dressing and how everything is set up is amazing from the interior que all throughout the ride itself. I guess this would be considered a "dark ride" of sorts and is pretty much constantly moving. The line can get pretty long (upwards of 45 minutes plus). My kids are 23 and 19 and this is still one of our favorites! Boo, Kitty, Mike, and the gang very well represented. You feel like you are emersed in Monstropolis! Special Note: This attraction will be closing Fall 2025 so I wanted to give this ride a 5-out-of-5 for posterity. Hubby, our daughters and I enjoyed riding the taxicabs, quoting character voices, as we explored their town of Monstropolis! Nice to have this baby friendly ride, especially being such die-hard fans of the movies!! You can find this slower ride in Hollywood Land, located inside Disney California Adventure Park. This is one of the cutest rides. It works on a moving car system where you are rolling through scenes from the movie . One of the stand out moments for me was when Roz ( the slug like monster from scare floor f ) directly spoke to me and the riders in my car. She told me that I was doing a good job. When I thought nah she's not speaking to me. She said ,"yeah you" in her deadpan voice and described me. Ha! I hope they keep rides like this.Although not the most flashy they capture the magic of Disney. Bonus there's a single riders line. read more

Today's visit was excellent. We visited during a special event Oogie Boogie Bash Disney Halloween Party where there were hardly any wait times on rides and you can go on the same ride multiple times. We got on this ride thrice back to back. It was great. It was literally a 5 minute wait time on the first round for us. read more

Sad this ride is closing. It was the first ride my son was able to ride without crying back when he was a baby. It is a cute ride that goes through the movie. To remove this ride for Avatar, I don't know how I feel about that yet, but I hope Avatar can live up to the hype. It was such a cute ride, and though I never rode it much, I really enjoyed the experience. It captures the adventure they go through pretty well, and all the displays are so well made. The biggest downside of the experience is that the lines were always super long, but if you go at a good time, the lines are pretty short. Also, since the lines were outside, you'd end up baking in the sun if it was hot or sunny, as there isn't really any cover. It's a bit sad to see it go, but I'm excited to see what comes next. read more

Too cute ride... even tho my kids are all grown up and this ride is more for the little ones, we still enjoyed it. This is a dark ride and it maybe scary for some kids. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! is a dark ride at Disney California Adventure in Disneyland. It's an interesting little ride, popped behind some other things that you could walk right by if you didn't know to look behind a corner. The ride opened in 2006 so now with 17 years under it's belt I think age is showing. The last time I went on the ride, things were creaking, the sound was strangely blaring (killing our ears) and the line doesn't flow nicely. Because of that, I don't ever make a point of going on it...even when the wait is 5-15 minutes. Despite the bumps and bruises, three minutes of fun. It's a dark ride that sticks to the Monsters, Inc movie storyline so it's pretty clear to follow. It takes Genie+ --- as of right now, lol! And no height restrictions so great for all ages. read more

Situated in the Hollywood Lane area of DCA (Disney's California Adventure) this ride is perfect for little ones, or for resting your feet in the AC between genie+ reservations, as the line typically isn't too long. It's a taxi tour of Monster's Inc world similar to many of the rides in Disney's Fantasy Land, as Sully and Mike rescue Boo, and try to return her to her own world. It features fun animatronics, which brings the world to life, and makes you feel immersed in it. The best part of this ride is room with all the moving doors! This is definite must when visiting DCA. read more

We kept our toddler up past bedtime to ride Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! The line was significantly longer than estimated, and the monsters scared the shit out of our Leo B., but it really was an excellent ride. We waited for something like an hour, which is probably a bit excessive for any ride without height requirement, but our kid had a good time being held by both parents and his aunt and uncle, as well as climbing the various railings as we snaked around and around. The ride itself was fun and impressive. We rode in little taxi cabs and got a nice immersive tour of the Monsters, Inc. world. Leo was definitely afraid, but he held it together and now, with the benefit of distance, speaks kind of fondly of the experience. He talks about going in taxis and seeing monsters. He says, "I was scared" but "the monsters were nice" and "they help kids," which may be how we talked him down while we were on the actual ride. I'll bet there are times when the Monsters, Inc. ride is not quite so popular, and I'd definitely be happier to wait less than an hour to go on it again. It's a great attraction, and I imagine it's even better if your child isn't terrified. read more

10-1-2021 Glad the designers have put a pretty current children's movie feature into a ride. Boo and Sulley plus Mike are easily likeable and recognizable. I love when on the ride you can hear Boo calling Sulley, Kitty. Now if only they would make a Stitch ride and replace it with the Roger Rabbit ride. This a super cute ride open for all ages but are geared for the tater tots and kiddos.,There is no height requirement. Hop onto a taxi cab for a fun filled adventure through Monstropolis. Mike and Sully with Boo in tow are trying to get her back home before it's to late. The ride is all indoors in the dark with animatronics. The ride queue starts in the lobby the bus station in Monstropolis. The tv monitors have late breaking news of a human child lose in the city. Oh my! The police are in the search and residents are on high alert. Hop into your taxi van which fits 2 adults comfortably. Join the mayhem. I enjoyed the ride. So much to look at, they threw in a lot of details. Fun tidbits: As Randall changes into wall paper, note that is the same pattern used in the Haunted Mansion. Also right before the very end of the ride, Roz explains your decontamination process. If you are wearing Mickey or Minnie ears, she might pick you out and comment on your ears. (The cast members are able to change her automated messages and comments about the ears is one of them). It'll seem as she's talking directly to you. Cute! The ride is set back in an obscure section of Hollywood Land in the Disney California Adventure park. I always forget that this ride is back there. No other rides are remotely close by.
