Cravings for a Door Dashed burger led us to Monsoon a few miles away. 5/5 black and bleu salad with burger medium. Salad is simple with spring mix, bleu cheese crumbles and I added red onion. Comes with a side of dressing that was just okay. I don't know why it's so delicious but it is! 4/5 NOLA burger with bacon, medium. Hubs got this and it was good for him. This is the summer of reconnecting for me! My old college roommate and I got in touch and we needed a place between Dixon and Loomis. Natomas was that halfway point and when we looked up burger places, Monsoon Burger looked like it would fit the bill! The restaurant is tucked away in the strip mall with an outside eating area. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting with booths and high tables. We were greeted by the worker and went up to place our order at the counter. We were presented with all the different side options and both went with a cheeseburger and garlic fries for me and sweet potato fries for him. We sat down at a booth and waited for our food a little bit longer than I would have expected given the number of people in the restaurant. We went up to the counter to get our trays of food. I didn't realize it, but your burger comes out basic and there is a whole toppings bar where you add on whatever toppings you want. I didn't know this ahead of time, so it was a fun surprise. I added on onions and pepperoncinis. I subbed my bun for lettuce and it worked out great. The blue cheese to burger was perfectly balanced. One part of my bacon was super chewy so I had to spit it out, but the burger was delicious otherwise. The highlight of my meal were the garlic fries. I am a sucker for garlic fries and am mostly disappointed by them. Not today! The fries were perfectly crispy and the chopped garlic on top was just right. I could have eaten 2 servings of those fries!! My old roomie said he enjoyed his burger and sweet potato fries as well, though he left a bunch of his fries on his tray. I was in Sacramento for work and going to be on a 10:30pm red eye to Florida. I googled who had a turkey burger between my location and the airport and this popped up. They had several styles of many burgers to include 5-6 turkey burgers. I ordered online which was so easy. It is a counter service place, nothing too fancy. Picked up my carryout when I noticed a fixin's bar ala old school Roy Rogers Fastfood or Fuddruckers. I stopped to check it out and there were smaller to go boxes so I got mayo, special sauce and jalapeño's. I was going to eat it at the airport, but when I got to my car it smelled so good. I opened it because I had to look and see what it looked like. The turkey burger was huge, I got the California turkey burger and added sautéed onions. It had half of an avocado on it. They put the lettuce in a separate to go container so that it wouldn't wilt. They are very thoughtful about their carryout orders. The french fries were so amazing. I tore into that burger and it was so seasoned and tasted amazing. If I lived in this area I will be going back at least once a week. The pricing is fair and the food is top-notch. They do have a dine in area and an outdoor dining area. They are in a strip mall with plenty of parking and the other nice thing is there are several other restaurants around them so if you and a buddy or significant other, want to get different things to go you can easily get what you want there and they can get something nearby. Stumbled upon this place while traveling, arrived just moments before the lunch rush.. which is a serious things. Right after we put our order in people started coming in from nearby businesses filling the entire inside and overflowing to patio. Burgers are flame grilled. So glad I got the smaller patty which was PLENTY and side salad. Hubby got the larger patty with fries. The portion size is enormous. Burgers come with toasted bun- onion/ mushrooms grilled to order. 1/2 avocado if that is what you added. Side salad is just greens. *** Once you get your burger you move to condiment bar where you add anything and everything you could want. Produce is fresh. For my salad I added tomatoes, red onions, and some of my avocado. Burger Pattie's are seasoned, perfectly cooked. We couldn't finish the fries / salad. Only downside- staff said there are no umbrellas for the patio. As mentioned the place was packed! Door dash and Togo had the staff working hard to keep up. Tried this place Saturday night for takeout. I ordered the mushroom burger with garlic fries and my bf ordered monsoon burger with garlic fries. He came back with a side of fresh lettuce, onions and tomato. As for the burger itself it was very bland. We can got a 6 oz which was more than enough. The bread was on the sweeter side and it became too filling for me towards the end. The fries were the thick cut fries but it was also very bland with chunks of garlic on it. Monsoon Burger is located in Natomas next to Jack's Urban Eats and Cold Stone Creamy. It is a solid burger joint and the staff is always super friendly and gives great recommendations. We had visited a few years ago and I don't remember being that impressed, hence the reason we haven't been back, but last night we thought we would give them another shot. I like that their menu lists the employees favorite items to order - I took the recommendation from employee Reina and ordered the Cajun Chicken Lettuce Wrap with Grilled Onions, but they unfortunately forgot the onions. I didn't notice until half way through because I was enjoying it so much - the chicken was juicy and full of flavor even though it was very thin which I liked. I chose Cajun Sweet Potato fries based off of another recommendation from the nice lady taking our order. Everything was cooked really well and I was a big fan of the Garlic Curly Fries as well as my Chicken Burger with American cheese. The inside has a decent amount of seats as well as a nice patio area that you can people watch from or watch your kids play at the nearby playground. Bathroom was fairly clean too! They offer Milkshakes and some beers as well as a toppings and condiment bar where you can select what goes on your burger such as spicy pickles, pickled onions and pepperoncini's. First time here and enjoyed everything about it. The open bar topping station gives me Fuddruckers vibes but I'm here for it! Everybody gets to enjoy their burger just the way they like it. I've heard about Monsoon Burger and we were finally in the area to try it out. We came on a Friday evening and it was pretty busy. The menu included burgers, hot dogs, some salads, sandwiches, and milk shakes. Prices ranged from 12-15 dollars, which is comparable to other gourmet burger spots. We ordered Meat Freak, Teriyaki Pineapple, and kids chicken nuggets. Each came with fries and drinks were not included. There was a really cool grill that rotated to cook the meat. They also had a self service veggie station. You can add things like olives, tomatoes, onions, sauerkraut, pickled onions, and banana peppers. They also had various condiments like a spicy sauce, mayo, ketchup and mustard. The burgers are all made to order so it did take time for the food to come out. The burgers were good, cooked to how we liked and a good size. Fries were decent, pretty standard. I think what made the burgers better was how we could add whatever fixings we wanted. It's about 10 min from I-80 and it has a kids playground with picnic tables outside shared by other restaurants in the strip mall. The kids burger was fine and fries were pretty forgettable. They needed to be a bit more crispy. The hot dog was solid and came with those forgettable French fries. ($10) I opted for the black and blue salad which was mixed greens with bacon, blue cheese and a burger. No tomatoes, no accoutrements... not terrible by any means. That brings me to a common complaint I am seeing here. The fries. If you are basically going to offer one thing, do it well. Be the best! The fries we had were mealy and dry. So I called the store and spoke with the manager. They refuse to do anything. They will not even appologize for this. My daughter has been vegetarian for almost 5 years and this is extremely upsetting. She trusted this restaurant and continued to eat the burger since she questioned the store and they confirmed it was a veggie patty. She ate half of the burger and started feeling sick. I used to eat here quite a bit and sadly, I will never come back here. The lack of care and attention to details in this situation is unforgivable.
