I've been in conversations with monoprice customer service since May trying to replace a birthday gift that arrived broken. It is now October, I've shipped back the original unit that arrived damaged, it has gone in and out of stock. Customer service refuses to issue a refund. They claim they will order me a replacement vinyl player when it comes back in stock; but I have personally notified them when it was back in stock. They were too slow and it is back out of stock again, with no anticipated restock date. They have now claimed to issue a store credit, that I haven't received, and ignore my requests to reach a supervisor. I am very disappointed and disheartened. read more

I purchased a special HDMI cable for an upcoming new TV installation. I paid extra for expedited shipping and since their website said it was in stock I figured I would receive it in 2-3 business days, as indicated by the shipping method I chose. Two weeks later, it had still not arrived and so I bought a different cable locally at a higher cost. The original cable eventually did arrive, after nearly 3 weeks. I no longer needed it and I requested a return RMA. No response. I requested an RMA 2 more times over the next 10 days. Still no response. I then disputed the charge with my credit card company. Shortly after that, Monoprice emailed me an RMA and I returned the unopened package. Monoprice never did give me credit for the return but my cc company ruled in my favor and I was credited with the full amount I originally paid. Had it not been for my cc company intervention I'm sure I would still be dealing with this headache. I have bought things from Monoprice over the years but never again. read more

I was hoping for them to make things right, seeing as I've been ordering from Monoprice for years on end and did not want to stop doing business here, and guess what? They have. Unfortunately, the 150 inch mechanical screen I ordered, because I did not want to have to work on assembling a screen again, does not fit up my apartment's stairs so it's having to be returned and it's either assemble a screen again or continue with the imperfections of wall projection, which I will be ordering from Monoprice. To quote a scene from "Gangs of New York," whoopsy daisy! Again, Monoprice has been very accommodating since the initial errant screen being sent to me and to say I am pleased is like saying I am fond of breathing oxygen. Leaving the original review below for posterity's sake. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I ordered a 150 inch fixed frame screen for an insanely good price, $450, to setup a home theater in my living room, waited more than two weeks from order to delivery, prepared a huge work area per the PDF manual, opened the package with bated breath, started assembling it... and boy was I beyond disappointed when I found that they sent me the 106 inch screen. I contacted support, demanding compensation in the form of a discount on the $1500 mechanical one I was going to buy to replace it because I was NOT going to go through the hassle of assembly again. I was prepared to pay an extra grand or so to Monoprice, minus something for my trouble for the wasted time I had just endured, both in waiting and the assembly work for a screen whose size I neither wanted nor ordered. They refused. Refund only. I am done as a Monoprice customer and, unless Monoprice reaches out to me to offer me compensation for the nonsense this colossal blunder that has delayed setup of my home theater by weeks, I will not be buying so much as a 6 inch USB cable from them from this point forth. When I ordered a bed via Wayfair, the first package arrived with two left legs for the headboard. The second time, they sent me a right leg for the wrong bed. 3D Printing enthusiast and small business here! I have multiple printers from many different companies and Monoprice has consistently produced some of my favorites. I currently have the Mini Delta V2, Joule and mini SLA. Really consistent print quality, wide array of filaments/resins, and very little work required to keep them going. Which I then purchase two of them on 11/28/22 caught the black Friday sale for $348 delivered. I didn't know this place even existed until a coworker ordered a replacement electronic part online and had me go will call it because I was in the area. The drive was not that bad from the San Gabriel Valley. It was 36 miles going inland from the El Monte area. The location is right off the 10 fwy East and the 15 fwy North. The Monoprice location is basically a huge warehouse with a will call and showroom office in the front. Luckily they hang red will call banners outside to make it easier to find. Most of the warehouses there looks the same. Monoprice sells a variety electronic features. They sell gaming accessories, HDMI cables, regular cables for usb, speakers, phone accessories, etc. Basically anything in the electronics gadgets field. The service was quick. I walk in the fellas on the front counter greets you while you show them a will call number with a copy of what was purchased so they'll go in the back to get it for you. People kept coming in and out for pick ups. There are plenty of parking spaces outside to accommodate. But regardless, nobody stays a long time. Yes I like this place. But it's better to look through their website first to find out what they have. read more

Their company's fraud department stopped shipment of my order and had it returned to the warehouse so, I called to cancel the order and asked for a refund, they refused to credit my charge card until they receive their merchandise and inspect it. This is after I called the company the day of the order and talked to a sales person, they told me there would be no problem from the fraud department and the order has processed. I have not received what I ordered this company refused to refunded my charge card, I asked to speak to anyone in management to resolve this issue, but EVERYONE was in a meeting and NO ONE called me back. I called to ask for an adjustment on this item which I had bought at $130 each and were on sale for $115 each, so it would have been an adjustment of $30. They said no, it's against policy. I happened to have $300 of additional items in my cart which I decided not to buy on principle. It's against MY POLICY to reward merchants who do not value me as a customer. I can buy this stuff elsewhere for just as low or lower, and the quality of some of the items I got from Monoprice was not very good, with obviously careless assembly. I value customer service VERY highly and I feel that their policy is penny-wise and pound foolish. I honestly can't complain compared to other low priced items with other manufacturers in a similar price range. Their customer service has always been great on the phone. In person their customer service is awesome as well. I stopped in today and purchased some mounts on the fly because I didn't have time to order and wait for will call. Lauren helped me and I felt bad because she always remembers my name despite only walking in a few times a year. Her memory is excellent not just for remembering my name but also she's a great listener and heard and repeated my order exactly of 3 different mounts types and quantities without writing them down. She quickly typed up an invoice and pulled my order. I was in and out in 5 minutes max. This company clearly couldn't find its face with both hands. Don't count on getting a job done with Monoprice products - you may never see them. I have repeatedly ordered items that are "In Stock" and ship immediately only to find they are out of stock - sometimes weeks later. You'll get the usual lip service, sorry for the delay... But that doesn't finish a project. Customer service is dysfunctional. I can't use half the parts for an order, why send me the shelves but not the rack? The items must be returned. If you're buying your hdmi cables from someplace else or spending money huge amounts of money on Monster cables then YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY! Not all cables are manufactured with the same quality and your picture quality will suffer if you choose to buy cheap knock offs or use the cables supplied in the box. I used to work at Circuit City and the Monster cables were the best cables you can get, but you had to trade in your first born to pay for it. Monoprice's high speed HDMI cable work just as good for the fraction of the price. If you have a 1080p HDTV YOU NEED HIGH SPEED HDMI because you need the extra bandwidth to send the digital information. Standard cables are only good for 720p or 1080i TVs. High speed is also important for 3D tvs. Best of all, monoprice HDMI cables are 4K READY. That means you can use the same cables for the new 4K resolution HDTVs that are already out on the market. This solely 1-star is dedicated to the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) staff @ Monoprice. I've never had to return anything so this is my first go around. First, let me say this is a long story so I'll try cutting it short... I was doing someone a favor by buying them 3 TV mounts (through Will-Call). The 3 TV mounts ended up being too excessive so I had to return two of them at different times. Well this sent the RMA dept. through a frenzy!! I requested my RMA number (which is required to return merchandise) through their online chat help. Raquel C. was the staff member who gave me false info., oops I meant to say "helped me." When I arrived at Monoprice's Will-Call (w/RMA#) to return the 2nd TV mount it sent the front clerk through a frenzy as well. The clerk did the total opposite of what "Raquel C." had advised me. When I brought this up to the staff member he didn't know how to respond. He made it same like The RMA dept. was this big hidden dept. that he had no idea what they did or how they delt with things. The line was getting longer at this point so I just told the guy I would contact the manager at a later time. No worries what so ever... "Okay" he says. CONCLUSION: for you busy Yelpers that skipped the story lol.... Monoprice has very competitive prices compared to other competitors. I've only bought TV mounts from their company. I've had no issues or complaints until now. I would recommend you document everything incase there are any hic-ups. I used to love Monoprice, but after my most recent purchase, I will no longer order from them. Their customer service is now non-existent, they show no care or concern for customer inquiries (across all platforms), and their shipping has now become ridiculously slow. They have been my go-to company for custom length cables (HDMI, Ethernet, coaxial) for the last seven years but I will have to find another solution. Being ignored after sending messages on their website, live chat (which does not work), and social media regarding legitimate issues with orders after they have already collected your money is not the way to keep longstanding customers. Monoprice will not see another penny from me. I once could not stop recommending them; I now have already begun to tell everyone I referred (and who orders from them regularly) that they will most likely run into issues and problems. It is better to avoid a potential (and likely) issue with the company and find an alternative. Look at their recent reviews here on Yelp as confirmation.
