We were able to locate shoes that fit him comfortably and even with his wide foot we were able to find shoes that he was able to say fit perfectly for him. My son is also very picky with the type of shoes he gets he does not like to get just plain shoes he likes to have some type of color to them and he was able to get a really nice looking pair of shoes that were not overly priced but looked decent as well. Overall it was a very good experience and he left happy andar wallets left happy as well because they had a buy one get one 1/2 off sale so my wife was also able to get a pair of shoes for herself. The reason for the lack of the one star was because of the fact that they only had one person on the register so the line went halfway around the store when you are going to check out there should have been more people checking people out so that we could keep the flow of people moving in that store. Having driven the discount shoe store next door out of business last year, this location's prices,…read moreformerly decent, have since made the inevitable upward climb. Despite the fact the only remaining competition in the immediate area is the hopelessly poorly-stocked Target (and for work shoes, the fairly decent Mohawk Army-Navy) this location continues to drive me to other shoe stores. Their selection for kids shoes is poor. The stock in general seems to be very hit or miss; they are incapable of keeping all the sizes for a given model or style in stock, apparently, and seem to be randomly completely out of some sizes. The staff is very helpful and will help you with fitting if you ask, but tend to be occupied in the front of the house with customers at the checkout line. For adults, they have far far more selections for women than for men, and pretty much everything is now seriously overpriced. We kept checking in here for boots, good shoes, tennis shoes, etc. when we needed them because it's close but as the Mrs. has put it, if I have to get shoes that aren't really what I want I may as well pay $20 at Target instead of $50 or $60 at Famous Footwear. So, we're now giving up and not bothering any more, despite the relative convenience, because it is a huge waste of time. Better to drive 20 minutes to a place that's more likely to have what we want.

She spent a considerable amount of time using their equipment to analyze my wife's walking technology. She then spent considerable time asking my wife what she was looking for in a sneakers- in terms of fit and function. Tyler then brought out quite a few pair of different brands of sneakers. She and my wife analyzed each pair in terms of comfort and features. One thing that I found quite impressive was that Tyler had the discussion with my wife vs looking at me even though we were sitting together. Many other sales people in other stores tended to direct the conversation to me even though it was abundantly clear my wife was the customer. Tyler was extremely knowledgeable and personable and patient. She wanted to be sure all questions were addressed appropriately and in the end my wife did choose one of the pair Tyler recommended. This was a wonderful shopping experience and we would not hesitate to return to the Colonie store for future needs. Ask for Tyler if you go and we are sure you will also be impressed.

It had been ten years since I was last here, choosing more recently to shop for sneakers at the outlets instead. But I was not happy with the last pair I purchased at an outlet and desired to shop this time where I could rely upon an employee to search, instead of me, through the store's stock for what I was looking for. Vivian did just that. I explained what I was looking for, and described what features I wanted to avoid. She then retrieved from their stock several pairs that met all my criteria. After trying out all of them by walking throughout the store, I made my choice. But I wasn't finished yet. She had responded to an earlier question regarding arch support that none of the brands of sneakers the store carried had arch support. I therefore said I was interested in purchasing a separate pair of insoles that would be appropriate for my feet. She brought me to a 3D foot-scanning machine that showed the shape of my arches. Based upon that information she had me sample several different insoles that would address my needs. Once I made my choice she custom cut the appropriate pair of insoles and inserted them into the new sneakers I was buying. I got to also retain the insoles originally provided by the manufacturer. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Ten days have now passed and I'm quite satisfied with the feel and fit of my new sneakers.

They've split their services into 2 sites; the one on Barrett Street focuses more on costume rentals. My visit wasn't for a costume but more for make-up and accessories for a costume, but let me tell you, the costume selection for purchase here is outstanding, taking up a large portion of this larger-than-before site. My purpose here was to seek make-up and accessories, of which they again have a giant inventory. I received great service here. I told them exactly what I was seeking, and within minutes I was given demonstrations and samples of exactly what I wanted - super easy, super fun. When you come here, read all the signs on the doors to find the entrance, as a lot of the doors are locked. The entrance you want is "upstairs" in the back, against the parking lot, the rightmost of all available doors. I was very glad to have re-discovered this store!

As I don't shop here myself (and having been deterred by the company's politics) I had no expectations when I entered the store. First, the store is large, handsomely laid out, and conveys the (correct) impression of high quality. I was approached by two salespeople who were very nice and very helpful. It pretty much screams high quality by your shopping experience. The items I selected were full price, and not inexpensive, but were clearly well made. At check out they were carefully wrapped and placed in a shopping bag (kudos for not appearing to charge for the bag and for not using plastic.) I would go back here in a moment. Factoring the dirth of high quality options in the Albany area it's nice to have this here.

The store has a nice size sock selection. One rack was full of other footwear essentials like laces and shoe cleaning products. This is worth a browse if you are looking for sneakers. They're a bit harder to find, tucked up on the second level, but superior to the two shoe places downstairs. This won't be a rave but it seems to be the best shoe place in the Colonie Center complex.
