50's styled diner with some great decorations and memorabilia. Service was very good as was the food. Definitely worth the trip.

Atmosphere: When I arrived around 5:30, it wasn't crowded at all.  In fact, there were only 3 other parties in the restaurant.  I was hungry, so I wasn't complaining.  The outside is about as "diner" as you can get.  It's a big, shiny, metallic building.  The inside is the same, and as has plenty of booths, tables, and a full-length bar. The interior is one big open room so it can get noisy, especially with some of the old school songs. Coffee: The coffee wasn't good or bad.  There was nothing to write home about either. Food: The menu isn't available online which is not a big deal, but you never know what to expect.  Will it be a massive menu with 10 pages of specials or a small 2-page menu?   The Dayton Diner is the first, and there isn't much the menu is missing.  It has everything from breakfast to lunch and dinner.  There is a page of daily specials at all.  I was hoping to find a special that spoke to me, but there wasn't anything I was craving. I ordered the Taste of Greece appetizer which came with grape leaves, pita bread, cucumbers, and cucumbers. It was a simple but good appetizer.  It did lack anything unique or unusual. I ordered their burger with bleu cheese.  The patty itself was massive, but it wasn't anything unusual or unique either.  I would be surprised if it wasn't a frozen and reheated patty.  The french fries were a similar story, and while the food was okay, it wasn't the best ever.   It's unfortunate because based on the atmosphere, I wanted to love the place!   Service: Our waitress was friendly and refilled our beverages.  The food itself came out decently fast.  She was friendly, and the manager was friendly as well.

Dayton Diner on Route 130 North in the town that is it's namesake is a traditional Jersey stainless steel roadhouse. It is bigger inside than it appears on approach, with long counter in back and large dining room smartly divided into a few smaller areas. We were walked to a booth toward the right rear. The walls were covered with I Love Lucy memorabilia. There were plenty of patrons this Sunday morning who remember Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Certainly, our friendly server was one of them. The menu was heavy on breakfast and lunch choices, and we had no trouble selecting the Belly Buster, Cheese Blintzes and Athenian Omelet. My small mug was repeatedly replentished with decent java to help compensate for my early rising. The Belly Buster (stepson) was a huge sandwich in a torpedo roll full of breakfast meats, eggs and cheese. He managed to eat half, but he did not seem overly enthused with the dish. The blintzes we're not homemade, but we're clearly frozen. They tasted alright, but did not overwhelm. At least my omelet was excellent. Plenty of Italian sausage, onion, pepper, homefries and feta inside a three egg scramble. It was served moist, and all the ingredients melded together well. Really liked it, as did the family. Despite the mixed results, it was an enjoyable meal. Certainly worth a return visit next time in the hood for another stroll down memory lane. 3.5 Stars.

Love this place!! Great diner and one of my ultimate favorite places to go. They have a giant menu full of lots of options and like any traditional diner, breakfast all day. Hey, I appreciate that as some days I want breakfast for dinner. The only negative thing to me would be the tad bit slow service. But other than that, it's awesome place to get great food.

Oh lord. How can I sing it's praises enough? Amazingly friend staff and outstanding food here. Definitely come with an appetite and room for dessert! If you're a trucker in the area looking for some actually decent food, definitely give this place a visit. They're trucker friendly and allow bobtails.

Juice was really good. Omelette was great. It was a bit different, good different, from what we normally have at other places, couldn't exactly point out what but definitely to be tried. Avocado toast was amazing too. So were waffles. Overall, loved the food. Coffee can be better. They never came for coffee refills, so not sure if they do that. We saw the pictures online and thought to explore for its vibes but the vibe of being there doesn't get captured well in pictures. Can't stress enough. Service was very good. Decent amount of parking outside. Location is a bit weird as it's a residential neighborhood. Overall, definitely recommended.

The restaurant was not crowded, and our party of 6 was seated right away. The restaurant is tucked back in a neighborhood area, and has some private parking around the building. The decor is like that of a 1950s diner. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our waiter appeared to be relatively new to the job, but he fulfilled all of our requests and was friendly. He would always get us a refill or more of something whenever we asked. We ordered a few starters of the Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the Mozzarella Sticks. Everyone in our party enjoyed both dishes! The dip portion was generous. We asked for additional chips to finish the dip off with and we were able to get them. Some of the various dishes we ordered are pictured - The Godfather, Turkey B.L.T. Deli Sandwich, Nachos Supreme, Tuna Salad Club, Sicilian Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Noodle Soup, and the Trio Salad Platter. I personally had the Trio Salad Platter, and really enjoyed it! It was a nice and refreshing lunch that was not too heavy. My favorite of the three was the tuna salad. We all sampled each other's dishes, and there was not one I did not like. The portions were large and very good for the price. I do believe the value is there with anything ordered from here. We definitely had leftovers to enjoy later! I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant! I would like to come back in the future to try their breakfast, and also more of the menu. I would recommend if you are looking for a nice spot to grab a bite with a small diner feel.

The food here is insanely fresh as was our daily interpretation involving copious use of root vegetables. In a Woodstock mood, I went for a mushroom motif inclusive of a mushroom onion soup and mushroom infused homemade cavatelli. The soup sampling consisted of three very tiny cups that were sort of like an espresso size cup. The salad was a very small portion. They said that the portion sizes were not smaller because of the $65 price fix option. If you ordered the salads à la carte they arranged from $19-$22 I believe. Had I did the à la cart and received that portion for that much money I would be disappointed to say the least; my wife and I often share a salad before entrées and generally speaking they are big enough to share but their portion wasn't enough for me alone. Presentation was beautiful and service was great, as well as the ambience, and we have been there several times. We are raying a 3 because of the positives, but I did consider making it a 2. I hope the restaurant takes note and addresses the piints I made. Note that the entrée portions were good.

There is all your usual stuff that you'd expect to find at any diner. From your sandwiches, omelettes, crepes, typical deserts such as cake and pie, to just about anything else you'd expect to find on a menu for a diner. The service was overall fine but nothing super special but it still is a decent diner to go to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is better to go around dinner time because then they give you complimentary garlic knots which are delicious. And the televisions they have around the diner are also nice to watch too so you don't feel bored. The only major criticisms I have is that there are times when there are tables that are still very dirty rather its from dirty dishes or too much dust lying around the diner. Another criticism is that the deserts maybe dry from sitting in the fridge too long which is disappointing because they look delicious. The final criticism is that it can be noisy too inside when its always busy. But that is expected as that happens anywhere. In the end, its a solid diner to go to. But it's not the best diner out there as there are plenty other better options for food and to hang out.

We were a party of 5 adults and 1 baby so we needed a fairly big table since we were keeping the baby in the car seat. They were very accommodating and gave us a large booth area. I was surprised we were seated immediately considering this was a Sunday afternoon and I figured it would be super busy but it wasn't bad at all. All of our food came out fresh and fast which is always appreciated! For appetizer we got the caprese garlic bread which was perfect to share with 5 people. It was really flavorful and just enough to hold us over for the entree. I got the Chicken Mona Lisa for my entree and it was delicious! I especially liked the fried eggplant with the mozzarella that combo with the chicken and mashed potatoes was so good. The meal also came with a small side salad (not pictured) which you had a choice of a garden salad or Caesar salad. For dessert we were extremely full so we got a cookie skillet to share with our choice of vanilla ice cream. This was the right decision because it was just gooey and chocolately and it melts in your mouth- definitely the perfect bite to end this meal. 100% will be back. I would love to come back in the spring when it's a little warmer out and maybe sit outside. The inside was super cute and cozy for Christmas so I'm interested in seeing if they decorate for other seasons and maybe if they have any seasonal menu items.

My requirements are difficult to meet in many, many places because I have to avoid salt, sugar, beef, fats, AND ANYTHING WHITE UNBLEACHED FLOUR... These dietary needs make all my restaurant visits a scary adventure. So I constantly order different omelets, different egg only orders, and whole wheat bagels with lox. The last visit, a week ago this past Sunday, I ordered was a Greek style omelette in which I had to eliminate certain ingredients which also give me GI distress. The omelette came up wonderful and because I can only consume whole grains or ancient grains in any baked or cooked product, I ordered their gluten-free bread with my meal. This bread was delicious. And so my omelette. I only wished they had a fresh pepper grinder. (Planning to buy one and a generous supply of peppercorns and gift it to them). THE SERVICE My ginger-hair color waitress a week ago this Sunday was fabulous. Something I didn't tell her... that I was trying to get her phone number to set her up with my adult son whose girlfriend recently broke up with him and in constant pain because of a past spinal surgery. He's just 44 years old and a divorcé. I gave Ginger my car with my personal information and my son's phone number, and begged her to call him and tell her the good and the bad about meeting me at the diner. She's an excellent server. I wish to have many, many more like her in every restaurant. I go to Ginger. I love you. You're too young for me to date, but I would adopt you. AMBIANCE The ambience will match everyone's expectations. As long as those expectations match with the style and decor of a diner built around 1950 1960 or perhaps even 1970 currently, I would describe it as pleasant, clean and functional.
