It appears it's been almost a decade, since I've updated my review for Teddys. Teddy's is the local neighborhood diner in the quaint, quiet town of Cranbury. It's a typical diner with breakfast and brunch items being slightly better than other food options. Today I ordered the turkey burger And I was pleasantly surprised. It was quite good and so were the French fries. Their French toast and omelettes are good as well. Prices are reasonable and menu Indicates cash versus credit card pricing. Payment via credit card card is charged an additional 3.99%, so it's worthwhile to bring cash. There is outdoor seating for the nicer weather days. Really charming old school diner with all the typical breakfast choices, open early, and I thought our server was really friendly. I was there with two friends, my first time there, and they shared that it is a historic spot, and it sure shows. Nice throwback to an earlier time. I can't recall what breakfast I ordered exactly, but it was pretty good quality, and it was served pretty quickly. Overall, a nice spot that I appreciated and would visit again. Lots of your standard diner options on the menu, and I think it's pretty good for what it is. We were there pretty early, so not a lot of people in there, but plenty of space inside too. It's located in a nice spot in the center of town, and at least at the time there was plenty of street parking. No dedicated parking lot as far as I could tell, but street parking wasn't too hard. read more

It's been a while since I reviewed this place. I was just there today. Stellar service, very attentive staff, friendly and respectful. The food was cooked to perfection. I was in and out with no lull in the service which I prefer. I'm usual on the go so I prefer not to spend time waiting. If I could give today's service more stars I would. read more

Visited my sister and she lived near here so decided to try it out. We ordered 2 eggs breakfast with sausage and cream chipped beef. I thought the cream chip beef was omelet at the bottom and this sauce at the top but it wasnt. You can sit anywhere you like. The bacon was good. The toasted bread had a ton of butter on it. We had asked for the homefries to be well done but it still was not crispy it was a bit hard it seemed like it was recooked potatoes not fresh. read more

The food is barely mediocre and the service is lackluster. We were the only customers and our waiter never seemed to be around. Located on the main road in town and they only have street parking. The only door has a steep ramp on both sides so I can't imagine going there in winter! But since I won't be Going Back, not my issue. read more

First time dining here. Was welcomed with a smile and "Hello, good morning!" by a stranger sitting at the bar. Wasn't sure if she worked there but it made me feel good! There were a few parties around us when we sat down. Love the ambiance and diner feel to the place. Food was delicious with big portions. Prices very reasonable for my family of 4. The wait staff was friendly. Bathroom was clean. My pictures make the place look empty but it's because I snapped quick when people left so I didn't have to take pictures of strangers. This place was good. Needed a quick bite before an appointment in the area and found this in downtown Cranbury. A little weird when we walked in as the employees just kind of looked at us until one said "You can sit wherever you'd like". Food was good and at a good price. Had to find someone to ask for the check too. Still, overall it was a good experience. read more

We had just arrived in New Jersey and were starving. This place was near where we were. It feels like you're in a tiny little town that looks like a movie set. It is so cute and so quaint with the Christmas decorations. this little town and restaurant was just adorable. This has one of the biggest menus I've ever seen, unfortunately I did not get photos, it is a diner style type food so a lot of breakfast, or lunch, or you could have the homemade clam chowder. Looking for a breakfast location while in Princeton staying at the Holiday Inn. Yelp suggested this establishment. Not far from hotel, 10-15 minutes. Quaint town with beautiful historical homes and street parking. Teddy's has outdoor seating on the sidewalk, indoor seating with tables and counter. We were sat outside by request to take advantage of the weather. Immediately asked about drinks, both of us got a glass of water. It came with ice and a straw. Servers were quick and well responsive to our needs. Amanda ordered Mexican Omelette with no sour cream and English muffin. I ordered the Corned beef hash with 3 over medium eggs and white toast. Both dishes came out relatively quickly with home-fries. The Omelette and Hash with eggs were good size and good portions of food. Both were very good tasting and more than enough for both of us. Price was very reasonable as well. 3.5% cost for the use of credit cards. As always, the true test is, "would we come back?" And most definitely if we are in town, this would be on the list of breakfast locations. read more

Just had a late breakfast with my wife. The whole vibe reminded me of Lake Wobegon, "The Town That Time Forgot" and "The Chatterbox Cafe, where Dorothy presides". Everyone knew one another and it looks like very little has changed in recent decades, except for outdoor seating and tables with advertising printed on the tabletop. The menu's were printed- no QR codes, thank you. The food and coffee were ok, not outstanding. The prices were moderate. The service was polite, not too chummy, and a little slow, considering that we were eating off-peak. The place seemed clean, but a time capsule of at least 50 years ago. I would eat there again, if I were in the neighborhood, but wouldn't go out of my way to get there. It certainly beats going to a fast-food joint, though. read more

Came here on a trip and thought it was such a cute old school place. They serve anything from breakfast to dinner, just like a diner. I wish knew server's name, but he was great. We started with turkey soup. I'm not a soup person at all but it was creamy with huge pieces of turkey in it. Definitely homemade! Went in for lunch today, they sat us in the back section which had only one waitress. Took more minutes than it should have for drink order. We then ordered French toast and pancakes and whatever else I say the food was good! It took almost 20 minutes for my pancakes to come out, 15 minutes later my husband's food came out. We can see around us that this was happening at every table. The excuse was that they were packing up pick up orders. Takes forever to take your meal, waitresses are rude, the place is dirty and the manager/owner is cheap. Overly competitive- has to offer every food option at sub par preparation. They made iced coffee by pouring hot coffee over ice, once because he wanted the money and didn't want to lose the customer to Dunkin Donuts. Every time one of my relatives comes to visit me and cranberry I always offered to treat them to lunch or dinner or whatever the case. They always want to go to Teddy's hands-down. My sister lives in Greece and hamburgers are not that readily available so she wants to get her fill of cheeseburgers so she comes here to Teddy's. They are very generous with their portions and it's not just a lot of mediocre food. Everything is delicious and they have soup which is homemade, that is out of this world. Their turkey dinner is nothing to sneeze at. I actually picked up a plate for Thanksgiving one time because I live alone. Their apple pie is homemade and let me tell you something I don't think I can make it better than that and I love to bake. Their tag line is "where old friends meet," and that's how I feel about this place. George, the late Teddy's son, is most welcoming, and so is the whole staff. I can sit leisurely with bottomless cups of coffee, or have a square meal-- whatever it is, I never feel rushed or ignored. The interior is also quite fun with Yankees and vintage Americana memorabilia. The windows are always decorated according to the changing seasons, and I believe they are done by a local florist. Unfortunately, I have to take off one star because it is a bit overpriced and though the quality of the food is good, it's not great. Sorry! But I do bring all of guests from out of town to Teddy's, so that says something :) read more

Very nice neighborhood local spot! The staff is very friendly and the food is solid diner food. We ordered for pickup from the restaurant and our food was ready very quickly (15 min). The prices are a tad high but the food is tasty and filling. We had the pancakes with butter which were nice and fluffy - they also give a good amount of butter and syrup packets for takeout too! We also had the smoked salmon Benedict (it was $17, which is on the pricey side, but it is smoked salmon so although it was delicious and the eggs were cooked perfectly, I think this is more of a treat yourself item). read more

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been extolled? It's a small diner spot on Main Street USA. Cranbury is one of those towns you hear about like an urban myth when you're from the City. The place is cozy, has plenty of character, and the food is good. The service is friendly and unrushed. My kids and I love coming here on a random morning we can spend an hour or two for breakfast... catching up on all things in life. While here, take a look around at the walls. So much history, both of the area, sports, and family. You don't get places like this much in the City. read more

Teddys Restaurant is nicely appointed on Main Street in the historic town of Cranbury NJ. The street is tree lined with some cute shops and a few small restaurants. There is about 8 red umbrella covered tables outside. When the weather is nice the overgrown trees and umbrellas make you not want to leave. The inside has the charm of an old school NJ diner, clean and inviting. Teddy's opened sometime in the 70's and is now owned by George N. George makes everyone feel at home with his friendliness and generosity. The wait staff and service is excellent. Teddy's falls somewhere between a diner, cafe and large scale restaurant. There is a wide variety of meal selections which are fresh and delicious. They make a great spanakopita which I drive out of my way to pick up the full tray for many past parties. Teddy's is a local favorite. If you're a local stop in, you will probably see someone you know, and if not, George will make you feel right at home. read more

This is the Coolest place. Old fashioned Cafe complete with swivel chairs at the counter. My Server, Pablo was pleasant and accommodating. The food was the best I've had in New Jersey since moving here in 2009. It seems Yelp never steers you wrong. I searched "Eggs Benedict"., and it was so yummmmmmmy. And the best part is., only 10 minutes from my Condo in Greenbrier at Whittingham. I'm bringing a friend back tonight for Outdoor Dining! The secret is out now. Just met the Owner, George. Driving through Cranbury and I saw Teddy's. I had heard of it but never stopped tried it. Glad we did. I am a proud "corned beef hash snob". I usually ask if that offering is home made. When I heard it was, I ordered it with my usual poached eggs. My wife ordered the Belgian waffle. Both were some of the best we ever had. The corned beef was definitely top 2 if not the best.
