two cups of coffee on a table

This cafe is located in the east end of Markham, slightly past the plaza at Boxgrove. I found this place on yelp and drove quite a bit out of the way to get here. Customer parking seems limited, except for the street parking right on the side of the road. I was disappointed the cookies mentioned weren't available at the cafe today. Nonetheless, the matcha latte is one of their specialties and was pretty good! Wish they offer more baked goods and other pastries. Seating is spacious and modern, especially love the comfy chairs they have. The name of the cafe is cute and caught my attention, but there was nothing really monkey themed about the place. Closes at 6 pm on most days.

Reese's, cookies n cream, birthday cake, sea salt and caramel, bottom is Kinder bueno.

I visited this cute little cafe specifically for Fattys Cookies, and I was definitely satisfied! They had about 8 flavours to choose from which was wonderful, and I got a variety pack for under $20. The flavours I chose were Cookies n' Cream, Birthday Cake, Sea Salt & Caramel, Kinder bueno, and a Reeses' Pieces one. The base dough is nice and not too sweet, but I was hoping for a bit more differentiation between the flavours. I was completely happy with each and every flavour, because you know I tried them all! These are massive 4oz cookies, so they're great for sharing! I'm going to have to come back and try something from this cafe to support local business, I love that this place exists and collaborates with other vendors to bring a unique spot to this new neighbourhood!

The coffee is delicious! We stopped in the way from Wellington to Niagara Falls. We ordered coffee drinks and matcha teas.

Wow, wow, and wow. I love this place. Very nicely desiged cafe. Clean and open. Tried the birthday cookie and cookies n cream cookie. Soft with a nice chew. Will need to come back to try the other flavours. Thats wow #1. I don't usually drink matcha but the wife ordered one, so I gave it a sip. Now I like matcha but only from this place. Thats wow #2. From the looks of it, this place is a one lady crew. But she nailed everything from the design of the space, the quality of the drinks /deserts and the service was great. Thats wow #3.

It was okay, not a huge fan of the spring blood orange la Madeleine. Bf got the iced green tea and it was also okay, just not amazing. I would still go again, but I would try the coffee based drinks over the lemonades/fruity drinks. They also have snacks/ donuts but they were sold out so you'd probably have to go early to get them.

This place has great coffee! I've recently became fond of their iced coffee which is a indulgence during the ever so Hot Canadian Summer. It has a really deep, and dark flavour without being overly bitter. I do take it with 2 cream and 2 sugar, yet it still holds its depth of flavour really well. Every sip doesn't mellow down and still stands strong until the last drop. Try it out! Iced Cofee ($2.75Chimp size) Cold Brew ($3.75, Chimp size) Iced Junbi Matcha Latte ($5.15, Chimp size) Fatty's Cookies ($3.99): Chocolate & Sea Salt Everything Irie S'mores The cookies aren't made in-house but are sourced from Fatty's Cookies. These cookies are huge! If you cut a softball in half and rest it on top of your palm, you're holding a Fatty's Cookie. The cookie dough itself doesn't have much sweetness or buttery flavour, instead, they're a vessel to let you taste and appreciate the toppings. What you get is a mammoth of a cookie for you to indulge in, that pairs nicely with whatever drink you accompany it with. Give this place a try if you're around the area, or are in need of a strong caffeine boost!

Finally a real coffee place! Great spot to sit. I have tried a few spots around the area but none were able to deliver on a good cappuccino.

They didn't have the cookies as advertised on their website. Also very expensive for a small okay cookie they order in. Not worth the trip.

We initially asked for a table at the back, but were informed there was a reservation coming in, so we were offered a table for two by the door instead. Thankfully, it wasn't too chilly, and since foot traffic was minimal, the door stayed closed for most of our visit. When we arrived, there was only one other table of two enjoying coffee. The space itself is quite small, which isn't what you'd typically expect from an Italian spot. They do have patio seating, but it's not really suitable for this time of year. That said, the service was excellent. We were promptly offered drinks, given menus, and had our order taken within a reasonable timeframe. The server also introduced us to the daily specials, kept our waters topped up, and cleared tables as needed. Our waitress was very friendly, and what appeared to be the manager also stopped by to thank us for coming. For food, we shared the sausage pizza. It's meant to be personal-sized, but we were pretty hungry. The flavors were solid, and the pizza wasn't too heavy. The crust was nicely crispy yet chewy, and the toppings were well balanced, not too much, not too little. We also noticed their pastry display; the apple muffin in particular looked tempting, though we didn't try it this time. Definitely something to come back for. All in all, a pleasant experience and a nice spot to stop by if you're in the area.

The owners, husband and wife are very warm and welcoming when you walk in. The menu is small yet simple but with so many great options. The pizzas were fresh, hot, generous toppings. The sauce was incredible and not too thick, meats and cheeses were so delish and the crust was perfection. La Fonte is small in size, with limited searing, but very cozy for a quick meal next to the water in the Summer or a cold winter day to enjoy their cafe, soups and sandwiches. This is what we have ordered so far: Calabrese Pizza: $29 - San Marzano DOP, fior di latte mozzarella, Spianata Calabrese salame, Nduja, red onions, scamorza, pecorino, EVOO - incredibly fresh ingredients and so much flavor - pizza perfection! They have a sign outside promoting the first 3 customers get dessert/bagel/croissant, but don't honour it. I was first in the store, not because I was trying to get the promo, but the lady behind me came actively trying to get the promo. Instead of the items promised, and only after asking, they reluctantly handed us panda keychains. The lady asked again for the promo after she got her order and they told her that they weren't giving the food items because keychains are more useful. She then asked them to remove the sign for false advertising, they (angrily) said they would, yet the sign continues to be outside half an hour later. You really shouldn't be making promises you can't keep, and getting upset at your customers for it. Please consider removing this false advertising sign and just letting your cafe and food speak for itself. If it wasn't for this, this cafe would be 4 or 5 stars, but the fake promo and dishonesty has really soured my experience here.

We shared the Mango Bingsu, and it was huge--easily enough for the five of us. The flavor was a solid 9/10, super refreshing and delicious. If they had crispy corn flakes on top, it would've been a straight 10/10 for me. We also got two Dalgona Lattes, one with oat milk, and she differentiated them with the coasters, which was such an adorable touch. Now I need to go back just to try more drinks! Parking was free but a little awkward--spots are at an angle, and the plaza can get busy. But honestly, it's worth it. You pass through a charming patio to enter, which was shaded nicely thanks to the size of the Shoppers building. Given the recent heatwave, we opted to sit indoors. We were greeted at the door and offered the choice between a two-person table tucked farther inside or a four-person table closer to other diners. We chose the smaller table for a bit more privacy and ease of conversation. Menus were provided right away, followed shortly by tap water. When our server checked in to ask about drinks, we let her know we were fine with just water. Later, when we were ready to order, she came promptly when we called her over. A standout moment: we ordered just one smoothie, and she kindly asked if we were sharing, then offered to split it into two cups without us even asking. A thoughtful and appreciated gesture. The Pineapple Banana Smoothie was a highlight. It was perfectly balanced between sweet and tart, and incredibly refreshing. My sister ordered the Halloumi Benedict. She noted that while the waffles leaned toward a sweeter flavor on their own, the combination of waffle, egg, and halloumi was well-balanced and worked beautifully together. The egg was jammy and spot-on in terms of taste, texture, and presentation. I had the Fully Loaded, which features a potato waffle topped with bacon bits, sour cream, chives, and cheese. It leaned a bit salty, but not overwhelmingly so, still quite enjoyable overall. I loved the potato waffle which has the slightly crispy edges but was soft to bite with a texture that resembled mash potatoes. As someone who isn't usually crazy about waffles, which was such a nice alternative. Each of our mains came with a side salad (lightly dressed and refreshing) and a choice of fruit salad, maple baked beans, or potato salad. We both chose the fruit salad, which was impressively varied with orange, grapefruit, watermelon, blueberry, blackberry, and banana. Note: Payment is cash or debit only.
