If you're looking for a cute dessert spot, Bloom Cafe is such a lovely find Their cakes are not only beautifully designed but also perfectly balanced in flavor. I highly recommend the peach and earl grey cake and the grape oolong cake. Both are light, fragrant and not overly sweet. Pricing also feels very reasonable for the quality and experience!
Nice Japanese pastry, tea, and coffee place in downtown Toronto. You can find nice cakes and lattes here. It's not a very big place, but it certainly gives you a good time while enjoying your treats. Good decor with a comfy vibe. Recommended.
Bloom is a lovely cafe with friendly service and a warm, comforting vibe. Whenever I go in, I see a lot of people working on their laptops or meeting with their friends for a drink and a sweet treat :) They serve a variety of food items here, such as cakes, cream puffs, ice cream, and even onigiri! Some of my favourites are the peach earl grey cake and the kinako matcha latte. All of the drinks I've tried have been flavourful and have the perfect amount of sweetness. While I do enjoy studying here, one thing to note is that they don't have outlets available!
Came to this cafe for the first time and tried the matcha latte. It was good. Would love to come back to try their desserts and ice cream. They also have a few seats inside.
***updated! original review is below!*** ***updated feb 2026*** been here a few times before. friendly staff, amazing selection of desserts and handcrafted specialty teas & lattes. really bright space, more sesting tables towards the back - but the restrooms can use a bleach down (very bad odors). we got their seasonal sundae - jasmine pistachio & a genmai latte! everything was delicious and we look forward to coming back and trying the rest of their menu! ***original review*** oh my lordy!? heaven in your mouth!! their profiterols (cream filled puff pastries) are so addictive!! an oozle of decadant cream fillings in each one! we got early gray, mocha, jasmine, vanilla, strawberry and another specialty black tea one! absolutely deeeelicious!!
Really enjoy this place! It's open late and has hojicha latte. One of my favourite obsessions of late. It's always busy! So far, everything I have tried I've really enjoyed whether sweet or savoury. The crunchy eclair was light and airy with the perfect crunch for contrast. The hojicha you can customize for sweetness. Always been solid. I had the salmon sandwich which I inhaled so from what I can remember that was delicious. In addition, consistent from the first time coming in - customer service. Very friendly whether late at night or early in the day.
Never lets me down. Here's their strawberry pistachio cake slice. Moist, fresh, with a bit of cereal at the bottom.
I've been coming here for years. It's my go to cafe for pastry, it's good for catching up with friends or study session. I've tried working from this cafe twice. There's very limited outlets (I think two) so you should come early if you want to secure a spot. There's plenty of seats otherwise. Note: if you are in vpn and use the wifi, it'll keep disconnecting. The ambiance is good, it's so aesthetic there's also cute instrumentals in the background. I had a meeting and it was a little loud. My voice was echoing but still understandable. The pastries are also delicious! I also recommend their hinako matcha latte. It's very good and you can tell the matcha is very good quality based on the color. Their soft serve sundaes are also good. Highly recommend this cafe! Just come early if you want pastries
Was craving a matcha dessert after dinner, I got the matcha and kinako sundae! It was super yum! the matcha flavour was strong, the kinako flavour was a light flavour. The toppings made it better tbh, if it was just the soft serve itself, it wouldn't have been as good. It came with mochi pieces, crunchy topping, tea jelly, rice crispes pieces. The store is pretty packed at 8PM most seats were filled and most pastries were sold out so come earlier if you want them. They seem popular as I saw a huge line at around 6:30pm too. The ambiance is a cool tone cafe with spacious seating in the back, and seats at the front of the store they had a lot seats but it was all filled up. Service was fast, but nothing special.
Excellent food and drinks! I keep coming back to Bloom when I want high quality ceremonial grade matcha. You can tell by the photos that the colour of the matcha is fantastic and they really value quality of their products. They also have fantastic pastries and I regularly order the cream puffs and other snacks. Today we ordered the onigiri deal: $8.99 for 1 drink and one Onigiri snack They have many options for onigiri such as spicy salmon, spicy beef, imitation crab, etc. I would highly suggest this combo with a drink! Their drinks by themselves normally cost between $5-$7 which is a similar range to most cafes in the area. The seating and cafe is attractive and feels very welcoming. They have some outlets and a pretty spacious store for downtown Toronto. The service is always very friendly and helpful. Overall, a great experience!
Bigger inside than it looks. I like the decor- it's bright and clean. Service was quick. Came in on a Saturday at around 4pm and it was quite busy. I ordered the hojicha latte. Overall, I found it okay. It's a bit more bitter than I'd like, but still good. My boyfriend got a matcha latte and I thought it was okay as well. For two drinks, it came out to a little over $15.
Came back to try their genmai sundae and it came with black sesame pudding, 2 small mochi balls, and a lot of sesame to garnish. There was a layer of rice krispies at the bottom as well to add an extra crunch and it was really tasty. One thing that I did not like were some of the crunchy bits were quite hard and caught me off guard but I guess it added more texture. Service was great and the store itself was really cute!
Delicious japanese dessert spot - not too sweet and with many unique flavors!! The matcha ice cream had an intense matcha flavor which I love but tasted more sorbet than creamy ice cream The jasmine darjeeling was hands down amazing - probably taste even better if I ate it right away when it was fresh but I had it a day later and it was still very good! The tea flavor was strong and not too sweet, sponge part was also bouncy
Nice little Japanese bakery selling cakes and pastries. This location is on Yonge St.and Wellesley. If not for the reviews, I wouldn't have known this place. I came after lunch time on a weekday. It wasn't busy And The employee served us right away. It was tough choosing as they have an abundance of choices. We ended up selecting 6 cakes as it included tax. It still was on the pricey side at over $40 But The cakes were delicious. They were soft and delectable. I would come back if in the area again. Side note: the branded box was nice but almost everybody is doing that nowadays. Luckily the cakes live up to their reputation. read more
I recall frequently the spot that used to occupy the space and was known for their matcha items. The setup has remained the same and some of the items remain the same even. Wonder if it's the same business with a new name/ownership. I have picked a few desserts from here and enjoyed them. Lots of matcha and other tea focused items here. They seem to be popular for dine in as well. Give them a look if you like the taste profile or items they offer. read more

Visited recently and got their genmaicha ice cream which had cereal on the bottom and some other toppings. I liked that the tea flavour came through strong! It was around $8. Staff are still kind and welcoming as always! read more
Cafe in the Yonge/Wellesley area. This place is great. Got the soft serve in a cup (6.50) which had a strawberry and matcha mix. Probably the best soft serve I've had. Just a great mix of flavours that blend together perfectly. The cafe itself is also very bright, has a good amount of seating and for some reasons, even though it a Japanese style cafe, played an instrumental version of a Jacky Cheung song (added bonus). Excited to come back and try a drink here as well. read more
Bloom serves up some tasty Japanese treats. Been here a number of times through the years and ALWAYS love their cream puffs: chewy on the outside, soft on the inside, filled with smooth cream. Their cakes are also always so delicate distinct in their flavours. I guess if I have one quibble, it's that I find their soft serve sundaes a bit too sweet. Space is beautifully designed, lighting is bright, service is quick. Bloom is a great place to hang out in or do a quick takeout from. Definitely stop by if you're in the mood for some treats. read more

The match latte is 6.95 CAD which is on the pricier end, but they use ceremonial matcha so that makes sense. Their cakes are great! I have tried their yuzu matcha cake, strawberry pistachio cake, peach earl grey cake and they have been delicious so far. Would recommend! read more
Came to this cute and quaint cafe for my birthday with family. The cafe was quite busy on a Saturday night around 7pm. We ordered the latte and some crested two cream puffs (strawberry and earl gray). We also ordered the Sakura soft serve in a cup. It comes with two small real flower decorative pieces The customer service was really good. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly. read more
Found this shop inside the Upper East Food Club (a food hall that brings Asian-inspired food stalls in one space) in North York. Clean, cute atmosphere - I am sure this place is attracting many people who want to enjoy unique Asian-inspired snacks. Bloom sells mainly "Japanese" cream puffs and a few cake & daifuku mochi options. We bought: Cream Puffs (Vanilla, Matcha Jasmine) Strawberry Double Fromage Cake Crunchy Éclair (Earl Grey) Maccha Daifuku Unfortunately, they did not meet Japanese standards at all. Personally, I expect cream puffs to have a delicate balance of flakiness, lightness, and airiness. But their puffs pastry felt somewhat doughy and dense. No flakiness. Vanilla had a good light/fluffy cream but could have been better with more vanilla flavor coming forward. Jasmine puff's flavor was too strong for me, it felt as if I was eating something sprayed with Jasmine scented perfume. The cream was starchier than vanilla's, which made the puff more soggy-ish. The texture of the strawberry double fromage cake lacked smoothness/jiggly-ness. The taste itself was not bad. Macha-daifuku mochi - I was disappointed as there was no azuki (red bean paste) inside - just full of cream which made the daifuku wrapper gooey, killing its delicate fluffiness. The crunchy éclair was very good! The prices were reasonable, and the service was pleasant. But the food was not something that compels me to return to. read more

Great little Japanese dessert shop on Yonge. So far I've tried just about every dessert at this place and the one that keeps me coming back is definitely the eclairs. All of the flavours are great but the strawberry definitely reminds me a lot of the Pocky. The cream filling for all the desserts are definitely fresh and packs a punch! read more

Came here again this afternoon and it didn't disappoint! I ordered the jasmine cream puff - one of my favourites. It was light, with lots of not-too-sweet cream in the middle. I also ordered the matcha daifuku which was delicious. I enjoyed both the flavour and texture of it. To top it off, I got the yuzu iced tea which was very refreshing and went well with my desserts. I'm glad that this cafe hasn't changed in terms of its great service and delicious desserts. read more

Bloom is a cute Japanese cafe in the Yonge and Wellesley area. My friends and I came in for dessert after dinner on a weeknight and it was still quite packed inside! There are some larger tables at the front and back of the cafe, but most tables were smaller and fitting for 2 people. What we got: - Peach and matcha soft serve swirl - Matcha daifuku - Kinako daifuku Final Thoughts: The soft serve was not too sweet and though I wasn't sure about how the peach and matcha flavors would go together, it works! The daifukus were filled with cream and dusted with their respective powder on top. I really enjoyed the matcha cream in the soft mochi. read more
cute little cafe, if you can snag seating. super packed and busy. interior is definitely smaller than expected and fills up quickly but that's typical for cafes. friendly employees relatively fast service. i ordered their onigiri and speciality drink combo along with some pastries which were just okay (strawberry shortcake, earl grey cream puff + lavender flower puff) but i honestly think it's due to what i picked out. i would definitely stop by to try their other baked goods! p.s. we did end up getting one item that was wrong so just make sure to check your order! read more
This dessert cafe used to be called Tsujiri but it has been rebranded to Bloom Cafe some time in 2019. Tsujiri still exists but Bloom Cafe concentrates on baked goods from chef Tomoyuki Rikuta who oversees all of Tsujiri's pastries. Bloom Cafe has many classic Japanese desserts but Bloom has some chef Rikuta' s creations. There are cream puffs, cake rolls, tarts, soft serve ice cream cones, ice cream floats, (colourful) parfaits, teas, espresso, cappuccino and lattes. We specifically came to try the new Bloom Sundae: Matcha Sundae $7.50 and Peach Sundae $7.75. We chose the Peach. We weren't disappointed. The soft serve ice cream was peach flavoured. There were some fresh peach pieces and a single mochi ball on top. Under the ice cream is a layer of peach jelly. The bottom layer was rice crusties. The service was really good. There is free WiFi. Their air conditioner was extremely weak. Only back part of the cafe was slightly cool but there was only one table there because of the pandemic health restrictions. The temperature outside at 7:00pm was 24C but inside it was around 28C. At this temp, it was good good for eating any item with ice cream in it, like our sundae. I found out later that the air conditioner was broken that week and they were waiting for the repairman to come. read more
Delightful yet sensible Japanese Indulgence A stroll through Yonge street's College Park area took Me by Bloom, a Japanese cream puff and coffee shop. The interior, while narrow, doesn't feel cramped - with its bright white colors, simplistic modern decor consisting of neutral colored wooden birch tables, lower barstools and an overall big room space with light jazz music in the background; très très hipster Tokyo meets Toronto ambiance! I ordered a vanilla cream puff ($3.95) and the hojichu Daifuku ($5.25). Both were ultra light and fluffy, not too sweet whatsoever and very delicious!!! The cream puff had a vanilla cream filling, not custardy like the beard papa chain variety. The Daifuku was a pleasant curiosity satisfied: a somewhat mousse-style bouncing gelatin ball with sticky rice paste base to hold everything in. It was very light and not too sweet, just the right amount of mousse filling. The Bloom menu has many other options such as matcha eclairs, cakes, blended iced drinks and soft serve sundaes ice cream. For This visit, I had a very good sampling that I decided to wash down with a flat white espresso drink which was very nicely presented and decorated in its tiny paper cup ($4.25). They have a proper hot water, brewing and manual espresso machine coffee system going - and it was apparent that they put a lot of TLC in making their matcha and authentic barista style espresso beverages. This is no Starbucks...Bloom was a very pleasant, light and sensible dessert indulgence. A Japanese sweets and coffee shop experience worth its premium price. Will definitely be back, " osewa ni narimasu " Bloom! À bientôt!!! read more
Let me put this in all caps: I WOULD KILL FOR THEIR SOY POWDER DAIFUKU. It is so good and I clear the entire row whenever I see it ( they are pricey but trust me they are so worth the price) i can't describe how good it is you would have to taste it in person, but please save some for me to buy! :D The peach icecream photo was taken a while ago when it was still available, I think it was summer special. It is very good but the peach doesn't taste so fresh, I enjoyed the different textures: the creamy icecream, the crispy rice and the soft mochi. read more
This is a great spot to get a quick treat! They have a great selection of desserts and drinks, and I think they specialize in matcha desserts. Every time I go the tables are full, but there is a small back room where most people go to study if you want a bit more quiet read more

Having tried their eclairs in the past and a bit disappointed, I am so glad to try some of their other items. The daifuku was super fresh with a nice chewy mochi layer and a matcha custard cream filling. The staff told me there is suppose to be a bit of red bean inside but I did not find any trace of red bean :( It would have went nicely with the matcha custard. The cake slice was matcha yuzu flavour. The yuzu layers were nice and tart and went well with the rich matcha mousse layers. I would definitely get the cake again! read more
Can't say much about their desserts but their lattes are AMAZING. I've tried their regular espresso lattes and matcha ones and both are delicious with tons of flavour. Will def be back to try their ice creams and desserts! They occasionally host events like K-pop themed ones and they're pretty fun to checkout. Lastly, the service has always been friendly and efficient. read more

I've tried 3 different items so far. Everything has been absolutely delicious. Something I found interesting was that when I came close to closing at the end of the day, ofc there was almost nothing left. Maybe 3 different items. I got the matcha eclair. I was expecting it to be soggy but it was actually very cripsy! Maybe they reheat the shell throughout the day and then fill it with cream close to serving time? It did have a slight burnt taste. The mochi is soft and generously sized. The cream in their puffs are also very flavourful! Definitely the best mochi and cream puff in Toronto. read more
This cafe is so cute! Something that sets this cafe different from others is that there's a work area- if the main area is being a little too loud and there's too much bustle, you're always free to head to they back and work peacefully. The pastries and sweets there were japanese-authentic, and we had a nice view of the street outside. When the weather's nicer, I'll definitely stop by again :D read more

Love love love love this cafe! Their kinako matcha latte is so good and right amount of sweetness, plus their creampuffs are so good and generously filled! The soft serve is so good too, I usually get the mix and add kinako & shiratama. Their savoury croissants are really good too, makes for a nice breakfast or lunch! read more
