I purchased a 2013 RAM 1500 from Travers Automotive GMT in March 2025 with a 30-day warranty…read more Within 15 days, the brake system completely failed. I was forced to bring it to their affiliated garage, Premier Auto (required to keep the warranty valid). They told me the brakes had been inspected and repaired. Only weeks later, the brakes failed again. This time, they told me it was just a defective caliper. Then, just a couple of weeks after that, the brakes failed for a third time. At that point, both the shop manager Mike and the office manager Mike told me my brake pads had worn down so low they had actually "fallen off," causing the calipers to overextend and leak fluid. That explanation makes no sense for a truck purchased less than three months prior -- and one they had supposedly "fully inspected" twice already. Instead of honoring responsibility, they lied, shifted the story each time, and then made me pay $600 out of pocket for that third repair, even though the problem had never been properly fixed. Less than 48 hours later, the brakes failed yet again. During this same period, the tie rod end separated, which led to uneven tire wear and a dangerous highway blowout. I had to tow the truck to Dobbs, spend $585 on two new tires, and another $600 in electrical repairs for problems caused by a dealer-installed device and a defective key fob. Altogether, I've spent thousands in repairs for a truck that remains unsafe and undriveable. As an independent masonry contractor, I've also lost tens of thousands in business because I cannot transport materials or equipment to job sites. And to make matters worse, when I called Sales Manager Brian to ask for a solution, he literally hung up on me. When I asked him if Travers sells bad cars and doesn't care, he responded: "Yup." Travers Automotive GMT and their affiliated garage, Premier Auto, have shown a pattern of lies, deception, and negligence. They sold me an unsafe truck, failed to repair it, shifted blame, and treated me with disrespect. Their conduct has endangered me and my family and caused devastating financial harm. I strongly urge others: avoid this dealership at all costs.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We purchased a vehicle and had it for barely 6…read moremonths and throughout the duration of this time the car was brought in to be repaired 3 to 4 times with no repairs to fix the actual problem. We tried many times to go into and speak with the office about what we could do after the car broke down in another state, we paid to have the car diagnosed as well as other repairs needed to have a proper diagnostic test ran to find out there was a cracked valve in the engine. The bill for the repairs were over $9000 and the dealership refused to go ahead and either pay for the repairs and let us pick the vehicle up at our own expense afterwards or they wanted us to pay a certain amount in order for them to pick up the vehicle and bring it to their mechanic that did not fix it initially. After many additional visits with the office, we spoke with the office manager at the Vandalia location and was directed by him to wait so the owner could get in touch with us and discuss what could happen next. After close to a month of zero communication and multiple visits to the location in Vandalia, we were told that they would take ownership of the car and the loan would disappear. We were also told that they would not come after us for the vehicle since they do not have the vehicle. We asked for a phone number to speak with the owner to possibly set a meeting up with him since they refuse to give us any phone number to contact anyone since they only have personal phone numbers. The general manager proceeded to come out of an office and become extremely hostile and aggressive. Once we let him know that a lawyer would be involved just to ensure what they said, and to follow through since they refuse to give us a paper stating that we would not be held liable and they would not come after us for the vehicle. I have spoken with multiple people that have said they have had similar experiences, cars breaking down, and they refuse to fix them properly, which cost them a lot more in addition to purchasing the vehicle and high monthly payments. I have spoken with multiple people at two Bank locations that have said that they've had multiple issues with this location in setting up payment arrangements in properly. Multiple bank employees have had issues dealing with Anderson and the location in VAndalia trying to get in touch with someone to help the customer fix their payment situation or zero communication at all. I do not recommend this location as any type of business that someone should work with. Best of luck to anyone that has dealt with this business and future folks deciding to go this route with that location.

My name is Chris, I was recently sold a lemon car a 2020 jeep wrangler Rubicon of March 31 2026…read more This car is not even 30 days old, I've been dumping coolant in the engine everyday non stop, I had a check engine light come on the dash. So, I decided to go get it checked out. I took it to holzhauer and had them check the problem, they told me that they wasn't going to do anything about it cause "it's a used vehicle you know what you got." This place doesn't do anything to help a person when they know about a cars problem. Cause im pretty sure a dealership wouldn't just buy a car off of trade-in without knowing what's wrong with it. I haven't even made my first payment yet and they will not do anything for me. I'm writing this hoping a person will see this that is interested in a new vehicle and just save their money and not deal with this place! All my money that I saved up for a down payment on a car is literally gone, and now I can't even use my 20 day old vehicle. So please, if you read this and show interest, take your money elsewhere to save you the trouble. If I could give this place zero stars then I would!

I live 725 miles away and have never visited or set foot in this dealership, but I was seriously interested in the trailer and even provided my credit card information for a $500 deposit to show good faith. After thinking it over, I decided not to purchase the trailer because I was concerned about my ability to safely get in and out of it. I am a disabled veteran with a severe spinal cord injury, so accessibility is extremely important for me. When I informed Nic that I needed to cancel the purchase, he told me that I would not be getting my deposit back -- even though I never visited the dealership, signed a purchase agreement, buyer's order, deposit agreement, or any document stating the deposit was non-refundable. There was also no discussion whatsoever about the refund policy of the deposit in the event I decided not to proceed with the purchase. This experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Keeping any person's deposit with no signed documents and no disclosure of a refund policy is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this dealership based on how this situation was handled. I have also registered formal complaints with the following: * Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division * Federal Trade Commission (FTC) * Better Business Bureau I would be happy to update my review if and when the dealership refunds my deposit.
