The diagnostic charge is veryy resonable $59 dollars I think and goes towards tv repair if you decide to get it . He transported my 55" TV back to his shop, and quoted me 4-5 days turnaround time, and a ballpark estimate. This is without question the best experience I've ever had with customer service in many, many years! I had a problem with my beloved 20+ year old Infinity RS 12 Subwoofer. I searched for a local electronics repair facility and came across Moni's. I read all 22 Yelp reviews and couldn't believe they were all 5 stars with such positive comments. I called and spoke directly with Moni (he is the owner and works alone). I explained my problem and he said bring it in and I'll do my best to repair it. He was the kindest, most professional gentleman I've met in years. He helped me carry it out of the car and listened intently while I explained the symptoms of my issue. He told me on the phone that he charges $49.00 to diagnose but that would be applied toward any repairs which was more than fair. He said it may take two or three days and he would call with an estimate. He called me the very next day around Noon, said he had diagnosed the problem and it would require multiple new capacitors and would be $149.00 total. I was thrilled and authorized the repair on the spot and he told me it would be ready to pick up in 3 hours! I arrived at 3:30 that afternoon and it was all ready to go. He patiently answered all my questions and had already bagged up all the failed parts for me to keep. After I paid him, he helped me load it back in the car and it works flawlessly! I sincerely cannot express what a pleasure this master technician was to work with. He's been doing this for 35+ years and I'm confident there is no one anywhere that would be this knowledgeable, honest and kind. This type of business, in case you haven't noticed, is becoming a thing of the past because our disposable society encourages us to just go down to Fry's for a new TV even if something minor goes wrong like the volume button gets messed up or something. I went into Moni's to get an estimate on fixing a number of electronic components that I have which include: amplifiers, tape decks, receivers and tuners. Moni was friendly and engaging. Offered me a quote and said not only would he evaluate one component but a number of them I have for the SAME QUOTE!!! I've talked to him before a year ago but when it comes to fixing my electronics I want to make sure the person is qualified and is in it for the long run. My 10 year old Akai plasma TV suddenly quit working. My kids cheered, thinking that I would replace it with something bigger/better/newer. My conscience wouldn't let me throw the thing away without at least trying to repair it. I googled Akai troubleshooting and learned that it was probably a board. Simple enough, but still outside my comfort level. I searched for TV repair, found Moni, read the reviews and gave him a call. He was straight with me, fixed my TV for less than half the cost of a budget replacement and was courteous throughout. What more could I ask for (besides someone to carry my half of this heavy beast out to the car?) Be aware that he accepts cash or check - not credit cards. Not a deal breaker for me but could be problematic for someone who's not prepared. I highly recommend for honest, fairly priced service. I recently moved and packed-up my vintage Sony 300 disc cd changer, not thinking to first remove the cd's. When I set up the audio equipment in the new home, I turned on the cd changer, but it jammed. I opened the cover and found the cd's strewn all over, some wedged together. I removed all the cd's and tried to operate the changer, but could not get it to work. Sony recommended I send the changer to New York for repair. Another repair shop said it wasn't worth repairing. Then I found Moni Electronics on Yelp and gave them a call. Moni said he would charge $45 for an estimate, which would be applied to the total cost if I had him repair it. So I dropped it off mid-morning. He called an hour or two later to say that a gear was broken and some belts were detached - the cost to repair would be $110. I told him to go ahead and he said I could pick it up after 3:00 that same day. I was elated! I picked it up at 3:00 and paid the balance due. It now works great! I am so glad I found Moni! read more
