I called Reactic Restoration on Friday, and Daniel Garza was able to inspect the damage that same day. Our house is older, so testing for asbestos was a standard part of the process; Daniel was able to get us in touch with an asbestos testing company that provides quick test results. That company got a tester to our house the next day (Saturday), and results were available Monday before noon. Fortunately, the tests showed that no asbestos was present. Daniel was able to assign someone to come to our house that same day, and set up dehumidifiers and plastic containment sheets with zipper doors, to seal the work zone, and to put down plastic to protect the carpet. On Tuesday, another team was able to remove the mold-affected wall materials, and wipe down the area with an excellent non-hazardous but effective disinfectant. They knew our preferred plumber was arriving at 1pm, and they were done with all work, including HEPA vacuuming and cleanup, before that time. The dehumidifiers are still set up, and will run for at least 48 hours. Daniel checked the area and the machines today (Wednesday), to make sure everything had been done correctly and that the dehumidifiers were working as intended. I am very happy with the service provided by Reactic Restoration. As Daniel kindly acknowledged on Friday, it's a shock to find mold in your house unexpectedly. It's been less than a week, and the mold is gone, and everything smells normal again! Everyone I encountered from Reactic was professional and kind. I hope we won't need their services again; but if we do, they will be our first call.

Highly recommend Chris and his team to help you out. Very professional and glad It was a good and smooth process coming from horrible situation with water damage. When he entered our home he had no testing equipment with him (red flag #2). He had no flashlight (red flag #3). He said he was doing a "visual inspection." He did not inspect our closets, the bathroom, the washing machine, the attic, nor any other places where mold normally grows (red flag red flag red flag). At the end of his "assessment," he made sweeping generalizations about the dangers of mold, said our home required thorough cleaning and remediation, and quoted us $3000. You read that right. Three grand. Now. Here's the problem. In order to actually test for mold or make any recommendations, a mold inspector ACTUALLY NEEDS TO TEST FOR MOLD. MMM Property Services did not take any swabs. They did not sample any of the patches we'd identified as possible mold. They couldn't possibly have known whether or not we had mold. It was completely irresponsible to recommend a $3k cleanup without real testing. That's some hustling, shady, profit-driven bullsh*t right there. If you care about your health and you want ACTUAL mold testing and remediation, hire someone else.
