I am just going to focus on the food today. The place was clean and I really liked the decor. The service became beyond frustrating, but since it's a new place, I'll let it go until the next visit. Since it was our first time at a Monical's, we ordered the baseline pepperoni pizza and it was great. While we waited for a table, our bartender recommended the thin crust and to dip it in the house French dressing. Done! I love that the thin crust is so crispy! It had just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The salad was fine, kinda had the bagged taste, but appreciated the freshly grated cheese. I'll pass on the breadsticks, they were bland. I'd love to review the Pepperollies, but they never arrived. Maybe next time. I'll give it a couple months and definitely go back or maybe get carry out in the mean time. I know the place is brand new, it was hoppin' and it may have been our servers first time working in a restaurant, so I'm not going to reflect it here, otherwise it would be a two star review. read more

This was my first time at Monical's Pizza in O'Fallon. I ordered a small order of mozzarella sticks and an 8" thin crust pepperoni pizza. The mozzarella sticks came out first. The cheese was soggy and the breading immediately separated. Food should be crisp when deep fried. Most likely the oil was not anywhere near hot enough. Miss. The pizza was very thin and crispy which was good but it was very greasy. Once I blotted it with the napkins a bit it was OK. With so very many choices in St. Louis for excellent thin crust pizza I don't think I would go out of my way to visit this one again. read more

We ordered a pepperoni and tomato thin crust pizza with a salad. The pizza was great but the salad was just okay. Monical's delivered our pizza before their estimated time and it was hot. Will definitely be back !! read more

A No-Go. Terrible, undercooked. Something wrong with every item we got. Poor quality. Undercooked monkey bread, thin crust pizza and thick crust pizza. Wings soggy and baked, not crispy. No sauce on wings, no dipping sauce in box. Warm soda. Delivery method was cheap aluminum foil in a brown paper bag sack lunch style. I read reviews that the salad was just the cheap bagged iceberg mix from schnucks. I believe it at this point. read more

Monical's Pizza of O'Fallon serves a good pizza, but for a $30 pizza they are a little chintzy with their ingredients. I've seen $12 grocery store pizzas with more toppings. They also don't cut their pizza's very good, so you literally have to tear the pizza apart to eat it. read more

Just go to the grocery store and purchase yourself a Tombstone pizza and bake it yourself. This is basically what this pizza is. I would not recommend this place and it it expensive for what you get. read more

We've been here twice now and both times were absolutely fantastic! The thin crust pizza is fantastic. Topping selection is outstanding and it's served so hot you need to just sit back and enjoy your beverages for a few minutes and let it cool off a bit. The service was excellent and the decor is very nice. Beer and wine only and the beers are limited to AB products with the exception of a Shandy. Wine selection looked to be decent for a pizzeria. We'll most definitely be back for more! read more

Glad they're in the St. Louis metro area. Being from Decatur IL originally, I grew up on Monical's so I'm excited to have them here.

We decided to try this place for the first time today for lunch. We were not disappointed. From the service to the food it was awesome. Our server Greg was very knowledgeable, funny and attentive. He was a huge part of our great experience. Thanks Greg, keep up the great work! The pizza, pasta, pepperollies, and sandwiches are great. We will definitely be coming back!! read more

Great crisp, tasty sauce, yummy cheese. Service always a little lacking, the salad is a bit plain & the bowls are hard to eat out of but the pizza is good. I like how they give you a bottle of dressing instead of a portioned ramekin. Try it out for yourself. read more

We grew up eating Monical's pizza in IL. I practically drool just at the thought of it. So when we were in the St. Louis area, we made a trip out to this Monical's. While the service wasn't horrible once we got waited on, we waited 45 minutes before the waitress even came to take our drink order....and we had to go ask for service even then. The pizza itself was great.....but if you want good service, this is NOT the place to go. read more

My favorite pizza in Illinois or Missouri.. ----- Salads with family pleasers are excellent Negative, the last time (6/11) we were there, the dining room was uncomfortably freezing.. I commented to waitress and her response was it had to be that way, otherwise the kitchen was too hot.. read more

The pizza of my childhood!! I love this!! If you grew up in central Illinois, it's likely you now how damn good this is! I was so excited to see this in the St. Louis area! Here's my recommendation: dine-in for your first experience. You want it piping hot - at its best! Secondly, don't expect Imo's because, uh, Imo's sucks and this is delicious! So, keep an open mind, if you're an Imo's person. Devour while it's steaming hot - you'll be so happy! Best Americanized pizza for thin crust, in my opinion. Not as good as true Neapolitan pizza, but who has time to fly to Naples, every time you want a hot pizza pie?!? Go, patronize this place, and fall in love like I did 40 years ago! So happy I don't have to hunt out a Monicals now, every time I go home to see the fam. (Nor do I have to bring home frozen ones stashed in the car now, back across state line like culinary contraband!). If I did have to suggest one thing to this location, it would be to check your cornmeal grind - this locale seems to have a coarser, polenta style grind, compared to the finer cornmeal grind that I remember from back home. Maybe, maybe not, but that was one thing that seemed a little different. Otherwise, Mon, you're my favorite! read more

Just had dinner here for the first time with my husband (Saturday around 6pm). The food was good, we enjoyed the Pepperollies and the pleaser for 2 deal. Pizza was pretty good, opted to not go with provel like a true St. Louisian ha! Next time think we will try it. Crust is crispy on the thin pizzas and we loved it! But gotta say the best thing about our dinner tonight was our server Greg. Great person who was very knowledgeable and attentive. You could tell he enjoys his job and even if he doesnt, he sure puts on a good front. My husband and I left here saying how great Greg was! If the food was bad, we'd come back just for him! Also, from what we could see, everyone working there seemed happy too! Overall it was a pleasant experience and more than willing to try it again. Looked like they had a decent lunch menu to try out! read more

This is probably the most tasteless pizza I've had. I think you are better off going to IMO's or Pirroni's. The service was also very slow. Waited for about 10 minutes to get our drinks refilled. The toasted ravioli was okay and the restaurant was clean. But please, save your money and go somewhere else. read more

There are a lot of great pizzas, of all different styles, in the St. Louis area. Monical's is definitely right up there with the best of them. If you are in the mood for an extremely crisp, well made pizza, do not hesitate to give Monical's a try! Review update: We hadn't been back to Monical's for quite a while, so decided drive over this evening. Unfortunately, it seemed like a totally different place compared to our previous visits. The restaurant was not busy at all, but service was horrendous and both the pizzas and our salad were bland. Our pizzas didn't seem to have much, if any sauce. Caesar salad lacked dressing. Our server totally disappeared for 30 minutes, after taking our order and as I mentioned, the restaurant was nearly empty. I Finally had to get up and go to the front desk to request service. The manager was kind enough to apologize and comp us for our food, which was very nice, but I hope this was an off night and not an indication of the direction Monical's is headed. read more

Food was good. Place is very comfortable and has very cool decor. We got the point pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and green pepper. It was thin and the cheese blend was great. We also ordered pepperollies. Looked like pizza cinnamon rolls. Also very tasty. read more

I had heard Monical's had great pizza. No. It doesn't. Bland at best. Way overpriced. Very poor service. We seemed more of a nuisance to the waitress than anything. Didn't check to see if we needed anything. Literally scuffed across the floor when she came to our table. She did not keep drinks refilled (that's a big no-no.) Ugh. Could have had Dominos delivered (whodathunk I would ever think Dominos was better?) So much for a date night with my husband. Did I mention way overpriced with horrible service? This is my first Yelp review. Monicals was THAT bad. read more

Just left the restaurant a little bit ago. My opinion...had the Italian beef sandwich which was real good...no complaints. My wife had a sausage pizza which was also real good. The crust was excellent. They use corn meal when cooking which is my favorite. The serve was also really good checking in several time to see if all was ok. Now the rub... $6 for a Budlight and $7 for an O'Fallon gold is ridiculous. This isn't a baseball game. Spent more for the beers that the food. 2 Budlights and 2 O'Fallon Golds for $26, not gonna happen again. 6 or 7 time the mark-up on beers is out of range. Will not go back for this reason. read more

Great pan pizza. Ordered delivery. It came quicker than it was supposed to, and tasted hot and fresh. Very pleased.

Very happy we tried this place. Pizza is an important dish to get just right. Too thick too thin not enough sauce etc. this is a thin pizza with a delicious crust. No cracker crust here. Taste like brick oven. Sauce was great and meat with fresh and substantial. Some pizza joints scrimp on toppings. Really happy with Monical's and looking forward to trying out the restaurant section. read more

Can't give a review on the food, I can only review ordering off the website. I ordered at 1pm today for a 4 pm pick up. Total shank!! 2 people were at the restaurant, 4 people working in the back, yet it took 8 minutes for anyone to realize that they did not have not only my order, but ANY pizzas in the oven. These people were nice, but utterly incompetent. I've never heard one person even mention this place after living here for 10 years. Must be the service. read more

We, my husband and I, have tried this location twice. On our dine-in experience (April 16) we had fun. The decor was nice and I loved being able to play some games on my placemat. Our waiter wasn't the best, however he was polite and helpful at helping up figure out what to order. We ordered a pizza with our "usual" toppings. It was delicious, enjoyable and it left me wanting to try some more. A few weeks had passed and we tried again. This time opted for carry out. My husband walked in and was never greeted for approximately 5 minutes. The staff was not friendly or personable with him. Once he got home, the salad made me physically sick to my stomach the entire nice. The pizza was their only saving grace, but had very few toppings on it (not like the first time). A few weeks after that I called on a delivery driver. I was driving down Bellau Creek and a driver sped past me going at least 10 over, made a quick turn into the neighborhood at the corner of Mexico, and then sped out the other side (I was turning the same way), and was still driving terribly - I can only imagine how fast he drove through a residential area since I maintained the 40mph speed limit going through the intersection. I called and spoke with the manager who seemed irritated I even called. Said "ok thanks" and that was about it. Stated he would talk to the driver. No apology. Needless to say, I don't think we will be returning back anytime soon. read more

Pizza (point) was good with plenty of sauce and a good flavor but was poorly cut (not cut through). Despite coming in after rush when the restaurant was 1/2 empty (7pm on Sat. 1/20) the service was terribly slow. Although we were seated promptly, it was more than 5 minutes before anyone other than the hostess acknowledged our presence. We ordered salads a pizza and breadstick starters. It was more than 10 minutes before the pre-made salads came out and another 20 minutes before the pizza came out. As we finished our pizza the waitress came back with our breadsticks starters. Embarrassingly, as she dropped them she mentioned that she didn't realize we had gotten our pizza yet. How sad is it that after nearly an hour the waitress didn't think we had our pizza and hadn't come over to address that issue. In short, the food is fairly good but the service is horrendous. read more

I grew up with Monical's in central Illinois and it's always been one of my favorites. The training and staff are not quite there even after being open for a year or so now and the food quality is very good, but not as consistent as those restaurants that have been established for some time yet. This really is a good individual restaurant but the service could be better and there needs to be greater consistency. It would be great to have local management spend more time in the established markets to help remedy some of the issues with the local restaurant. read more

Best pizza in O'Fallon by far. We lived in Bradley, IL where Monicals headquarters is and we're already very familiar with it. We were excited when the place opened and go there at least monthly. The thin, crispy crust and the green olives are the best parts for us. read more

This is my first time here. I went on Sunday at 7pm. My husband and I were seated immediately and had a waiter over a few minutes later. We put in our whole order, 2 waters, 2 salads, one 14 inch pan delight pizza. Fifteen minutes go by and we still don't have waters. I walked up to the front to ask where I can just get water myself and our waiter was standing up front just tossing an empty styrofoam box in the air. He said ohh yeah I'll bring your waters. Next we got our salads, they taste like out of the bag from the grocery store and the pizza tastes just like the frozen pizza digiorno. Do not waste time or money here. read more

Both deep dish and thin are good. Cinnamon pizza was nearly burnt. Overall, a good pizza place

The food & service are amazing!! Before this location opened, I would drive all the way to Illinois to get this pizza. It's thin crust, perfect seasoning & perfect amount of sauce make it almost impossible to not eat a whole pizza by yourself. So I guess if you're trying to lose weight, stay away. The breadsticks are simple, yet amazing. They almost taste like the inside of a pretzel. I strongly recommend getting nacho cheese with these. If you're getting a salad, I strongly recommend getting their French dressing. And what I love about their salads is how they bring you the dressing in a full container. It adds character to their service & allows you to put the perfect amount on your salad as you please. read more

FOOD PREP NOT MASKING. Forgot about me after my $45 take out order was ready, so was 55 minutes from on line ordering.

About a month ago I stopped in on a whim when my wife and I had a kid-free evening. After being seated, we waited for 15minutes and still a server had not greeted us so we walked out and chalked it up to a rare occurrence. This evening we gave it a second attempt. This time we were with our two small children. My primary reason for stopping in again is that they have gluten-free pizza and my son is allergic to wheat. I was excited to dine at pizza parlor with my family and have options for my son. Our server took our order and all was good in the world. She did mention that it takes a bit longer to cook/make the gluten free pizzas, which we were ok with. About 15-20 minutes later she comes to our table and says "I'm so sorry you guys, I forgot to put our order in, I just put it in" (you had one job!!!). We waited another 30minutes or so and our pie finally arrived. Meanwhile she was spotty at best in checking on us (they weren't packed). I ended up having to track her down at the register to get leftover boxes and my check. The food was decent, it's everything prior to getting our food that sucked! I will likely not give them a third chance. read more

Great pizza and pepperollies. Service was great as well. Greg was an awesome server! Rex the general manager came by and asked how we liked the food and service. We've had both the thin crust and the point. Both are awesome, but the point is my favorite. read more

Ordered delivery. Got the mozzarella sticks (not cooked long enough), the pepperoni rolls, and a pan pizza. The pizza was decent. With all of the fantastic pizza options in the area, we were disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. We ordered a 16 inch thin crust pizza for takeout. When we got home we saw that the crust was burnt. Additionally, the thin crust could not hold up to all of the toppings that ended up in the center of the pizza. Chicken texture was rubbery and had a fake charcoal flavor. I'd suggest Blaze pizza, JJ Twigs, or the always perfect Steffanina's if you are searching for well prepared pizza. read more
