    Sometimes you need a domain fix. This is a hole in the wall place that has some decent domain for quick grab and go. No frills. In and out and go. As with everything the prices keep going up, but what can you do. Tastes good and fills the crave!

    Love this place for cheap and good quality dimsum!! They are cash only! But many atms nearby. I got the steamed rice rolls, bbq pork bun, shu mai, lotus leaf sticky rice and taro cake. Everything is so delicious and the ladies are so welcoming and sweet. Definitely recommend this place if you're craving dim sum. We got everything for $21.

Dishes: $13.20 total -3 pc shrimp and chives: best of the 3 -3 pc hargow: the flavor is excellent but the wrapper is a bit too think and hard like it got cold.     A mixed bag. They've got the dim sum basics covered. Har gow, siu mai, bbq buns, etc. They're hit and misses tho. The dumplings aren't bad. The items with steamed dough, like the steamed BBQ pork buns are pretty dry, and the filling is minimal. I'd stick with the dumplings, like the shark fin dumplings. Obviously, they aren't actually filled with shark fin, but with vermicelli noodles instead, but I think they're pretty good. Har gow skins are on the thicker side. Setting is pretty much like your typical Chinatown-like dim sum take out spot. I noticed that another reviewer mentioned that there was some shenanigans going on with what they charge, or rather the change they give back. I also experienced something similar. Looks like they're playing kind of loose with their pricing. So stay alert and be insistent.

    CASH ONLY! Super cheap, fast, delicious dim sum. In particular the Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow) and Shumai were my favorites-- really cheap, authentic, and classic. The line is chaotic and was a bit long on a Saturday morning and took maybe 15 minutes to get our food.

    Haven't been here in a few years. They have a clear menu board. Prices seem ok compared to Chinatown. Got 3 orders of haw gow. Tastes fine. Sucks the line is out the door and only one lady working. The parking sucks even more!!

    For no-frills, cash-only, wait in line, early morning dim-sum pick up, Mongkok is good value for money. I ordered 2 beef siomai, 2 pork siomai, 3 hakaw or shrimp dumplings, 1 shrimp rice roll (all with 3 pcs each), 4 mini pork buns, and a container of 8 almond cookies for $32. Menu prices are posted on the board and the fun in ordering here is seeing the goods on display and pointing to what you like. The pork buns are warm and soft, with more bread than filling, but the dumplings are big and tasty.The almond cookies are the chewy kind not the crunchy kind, which I liked. Reminds me of Hong Kong style counter dim sum places, where you are paying for the food and no ambiance. Additional drama came when a customer used their employee-only restroom without permission and my order taker pounded on the door, demanding him to come out. Breakfast and a show! With such a busy area, parking on weekends can be a hassle though.

    I'm a bit confused about the low ratings of Mongkok Dim Sum. There are a few Dim Sum takeout spots on this street, and while this place does not seem to have the lines of the other ones, the food here was still really good. We tried a bunch of different dim sum favorites, and everything was really good. Because the line was short, we were in and out very quickly, and prices were really inexpensive. All in all, this was a fun place to look around and try some different takeout dim sum options!

    Mong Kok seems to have upped their game from the past few times we've been. They now have clearer pricing on new screens. Many kinds of dim sum pricing is 4 for $4.60. Their xia jiao (har gow) used to be hit or miss - one time we purchased it, the filling had a lot of pork lard vs shrimp and you never used to know what you'd get - some visits exceptional, some visits terrible. This last time, every item we got seemed consistently above decent. The xia jiao, Lo Bo gao and you tiao were good. Bbq pork buns - filling seemed generous and tasty, not too salty and not bright red with food coloring which I appreciate. Ladies were fine - brisk and professional. They're not there to be your best friend but also not rude.

    We used to like this takeout joint for dim sum but over the years, the food has gone downhill. Unfortunately, Hubby is still stuck on the memories of years past when the dim sum was much better. He spent a bit of change coming home with dim sum that I found not edible. The fried taro balls were soggy and flavorless. The siu mai was the only item that tasted fresh. The fun gor, triangle shaped had stuffing in it that tasted sour, as in near spoiling and I threw it out after one . The har gow had flavor but the outer dough was too thick and chewy. His main purpose was to buy Chinese donuts and the usual dim sum place we go to was closed so he got them here. I've never liked the donuts here but today, it tasted OK or at least better than before. Hubby finally agreed with me that he shouldn't go back for dim sum here anymore and that's very sad because the food used to be better.

    This place is one of the best takeout dim sum spots in the Sunset District. I ordered the chive dumplings, har gao, shiu mai, and turnip cake, and I absolutely loved every item! The total cost for all four items was only $23! 1. The chive dumplings were packed with fresh chives, shrimp, and seasonings. They were delightful! 2. The Har Gao had delicate skin that was tender and elastic, and the shrimp filling was plump, moist, and perfectly seasoned. 3. The Shiu Mai featured a thin, light wrapper that was firm and slightly chewy, with a well-seasoned mixture of ground pork and shrimp. 4. The turnip cake had a crisp, golden-brown exterior and a delicious blend of Chinese sausage, dried shrimp, and scallions. It was very well-seasoned and moist. This place is a true hidden gem, although it might not be a secret anymore with the long line! I noticed that the staff was more accommodating if you could speak Cantonese, which is common in dim sum shops. My only complaint is that they don't offer the go-to Chinese vinegar and chile oil sauce packet. The service here is decent, but it's primarily a grab-and-go spot. Make sure to bring enough cash, although they do accept cards.

The spicy lamb dumplings were another highlight, with an incredibly thin wrapper and a super flavorful and not gamey at all lamb filling. I also loved the stir fried rice cakes, which were sliced thin enough to avoid that overly chewy texture, and the stir fried noodles Shanghai style were classic and simple in the best way, with big chunks of cabbage and meat and just executed really (the chefs clearly have some serious wok skills!). Not everything we ordered was an absolute knockout as the vegetable dishes could use a bit more flavor and seasoning, but everything overall was good, and the portions across the board were very generous. The desserts were a last-minute decision and I am so glad we went for them. The lava custard buns were fluffy and amazing, with a molten salted egg custard inside, and the sesame balls had a satisfyingly crispy exterior that gave way to a perfectly chewy interior and sweet red bean filling. The value here is also excellent. We left absolutely stuffed and spent around $30 per person, which felt like a great deal for how much food we got and how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. Three dishes, all fantastic, and I walk home happy and thankful to Bao for a great simple meal!

The baked bbq pork buns are sweet with a decent amount of filling. The deep fried dumpling is plump, juicy, and crunchy. The shrimp and chive dumplings are my favorite. It's full of shrimp with a slightly thicker skin, which I think adds a nice chewiness. The veggie egg rolls were okay. I personally wouldn't order those, even if I was craving them. The spare ribs had a really nice savory flavor from the sauce. The egg tarts were okay. I need to note that these bags are leftovers from the day, so they're not as fresh. But they held up the next day so I was able to stretch 2 meals out of them. I can't comment on service since these bags are only for pick up. But they quickly provide the bags once the window open. And it's a small space, with maybe 2 tables. So this place is probably best for to-go orders. Their 2g2g bags have more variety than their Chinatown location. Not sure how many dim sum options there are in the Mission, but I would go here if I was in the area and craving a shrimp and chive dumpling.
