It was a rough day and had a party of 12 for a 2pm reservation. They were able to accommodate and that's what they did. We were seated in the private dining room and it was a bit tight but great for the situation. Server was fantastic and everything came out quickly and correct. Can I suggest the grapefruit margarita and the sidecar in the drink menu. We had an array of items on the menu and everything was delicious. Thanks for accommodating the family on short notice.

Our first time at Monarch and it was impressive. It lived up to the hype on the reviews--great vibe, exceptional service, and solid food quality. Faur warning--better to reserve on a weekend! We arrived right at 5, sat in the bar area, and watched the place get packed with a decent weight by 6. We started with shoshito peppers and carpaccio and both compare to anything we've had at great Chicago restaurants. The Romain salad and salmon followed and both were very good. Neither my wife or I are dessert eaters, but our server convinced us to try the caramel cheesecake and the pudding. Holy smokes!!!! Cheesecake was good, but the pudding was go into a dark corner so no one can watch you luck the bowl good. Prices are a little high for the QCA, but worth every penny and more. Great value.

This is a very nice place to have a kid free night with the wife or soon to be wife( don't keep her waiting any longer fellas get on it!!) or if ya just want to try something different. It's little on the pricy side but you pay for what you get.. you can taste the freshness from the apps to the drinks, there's definitely nothing made from a box here! Everyone seem to be having a blast so you can either sit at the bar or sit at a table. The choice is yours.. you can even bring in your own unopened bottle of wine?!?

Monarch is hands down one of the best places for both service and food in the Quad Cities. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and quick--really top-notch service. The food is consistently great; my personal favorite (which sounds ridiculously simple) is their burger and fries, which are always spot on. So. Good. I also love their chicken lettuce wrap appetizer. If you're in the mood for steak, you'll love the unique touch of picking your own steak knife! And don't skip the desserts--every single one I've tried has been amazing. Whether you're there for a casual meal or something more special, Monarch never disappoints.

We had a fantastic evening at Monarch. We reserved a table and when we arrived were seated immediately. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was fun and efficient. I ordered the pepper burger. The menu looked outstanding, yet I love trying different burgers. I should have stayed longer to try to talk with the chef, but something about this burger was amazing. Yes, the beef was fantastic and the chef grilled it to a perfect medium rare, yet there was a smoky-goodness spread on this badboy that made it truly spectacular. They also served enough french fries for three people. When we return to visit our daughter and son-in-law we will certainly return to this fabulous restaurant.

Just had amazing experience! Manhattan was just sublime, one of the best in the QC. Jess took our order & was perfectly attentive without too much interruption. The beet salad and bread service was very good- the olive oil was very good quality, low acid & bright taste. I had a glass of very decent Pinot noir with dinner, like the least expensive & it was still good. The bolognese was just perfect & the saltimbocca (I only got a taste of my wife's) was very very good. Overall the vibe isn't old school Italian or classic steakhouse but it's cool & calm. It had a decent amount of acoustic material that kept the noise in check.

Passing through town picked this gem for dinner. Bustling atmosphere for a Tuesday. I had four small courses. Very interesting chef. Bread service came with salted butter and EVOO. The EVOO had balsamic trapped beneath it within the ramekin, so I had to dig around to reach it. Fun. Tried the "caviar", which might be better labelled as potato pancakes with American sturgeon caviar garnish. Very good, if slightly oily and a seemingly skimpy on the caviar due to its headline billing, and price. Then the chicken liver pâté. This was a surprising flavor combo. It was like a winning Top Chef challenge, where they had to combine unusual items. Rich chicken liver pate with gherkins, arugula and mustard on the side, but with blueberries and strawberries on top. It works. Finished with the hearts of palm and crispy mushrooms, which did not need tomatoes. Interesting combo there but it felt like a work in progress. Too much sun dried tomato flavor crowding out a subtle dynamic. I could imagine roasted broccoli hanging with the dish, but then, too many green things? The colors all seemed to matter. Great wine list. I overheard, "bottle of Rhombauer..." Really? Davenport, I had no idea. Pleasant staff as well, very hospitable.

I am new to Davenport and decided to stop by Monarch Kitchen & Bar after a recommendation and it did not disappoint! Everything was amazing... the staff, the atmosphere, the food and drinks. My server I believe her name was Haleigh(?) and everyone who worked 11/9/24 all deserve a round of applause for such great service. I even bugged one for you staff to take a picture of me and he did so gladly. Went solo. I definitely recommend this spot and definitely will be back!

4.25* (out of 5) Food: 5* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 3* Service: 4* 04/20/2023 We were looking for a place to stop for lunch before leaving the area and found this place. This appears to be a relatively new restaurant and I really liked the atmosphere inside and out (modern, clean and open) - and the food quality was excellent! For my main course, I ordered the Power Bowl with Grilled Chicken (see picture) and my wife ordered the Beef & Broccoli (see picture). As we always do, we shared tastes of each others dishes and found both of them to be quite delicious - so I'd highly recommend either if you are visiting. The quinoa was so tasty and the grilled chicken was done well - with a good amount of moisture intact. The Beef & Broccoli was a bit salty to our tastes (probably from the soy sauce), but still very tasty. I would highly recommend this place - while the value is a bit on the pricey side, if you can get past that - you will thoroughly enjoy a stop here. The dog days of summer can be so delicious…read more Driving and exploring all morning and afternoon lead us to needing some food and beer to refresh and recharge our batteries. Emily wanted to check out Five Cities based on their logo containing a dog and liking most of their beer offerings. We dropped in around 1pm to a mostly empty place as there was only one other table. The bartender was beyond friendly and helped us at every step of the way. We ordered our drinks at the bar and took them to a table where we could be alone. Emily started with the Bikini Bottom and I got the Here Kitty Kitty Kitty. Emily's drink came in a pineapple glass and was very strong on the pineapple flavor. Here Kitty Kitty Kitty was just about perfect for an IPA. We ordered a second drink with our food. I stuck with the Kitty and Emily switched to the Crush Tangerine. Next door is Central Standard Craft Burgers & Beer. As we were walking in, I jokingly said it would be funny if the food we order here came from next door. Sure enough, that is exactly what happens. Emily got The Standard Club with coleslaw, and I got the Fire & Smoke burger. I'd say within 10 minutes of our bartender taking our order (which we had to do at the bar), our food was in front of us in these neat little boxes. Once you crack the sticker, heaven is waiting for you inside. My burger came with lightly battered french fries. This style is my favorite, by far. Both Emily and I were in heaven eating our delicious food. From the first bite to the last fry was some of the best food I've had in months, maybe all year. Pair it with the beer and we didn't want to leave. I'd say I would like to try out Central Standard itself and see if the experience is the same there. All in all, we had a blast at Five Cities Brewing. I got a shirt and some (free at the time) stickers in their merch corner. Emily got a koozie and some stickers herself. The shirt I got was a medium and ended up running on the smaller/athletic side. If I can lose about 15 pounds, you'll get to see the fun shirt pop up in a future review as it has a funny saying on the back.

If service is a bit slow, give them a break, place is often crowded with tables constantly turning, but they never rush you. When weather permits, there's a nice patio. I keep reading "friendly service". I'd say actually it's a bit brusque. It's midwestern friendly, the blank face kind that's waiting to make sure you're not a jerk, or let you know they don't put up with them. But the service is excellent They should give up the counter seating for customers and call it "kitchen view" imho ha I don't want to say this for fear they raise prices, but very affordable. Tip them well. I've gone all around the menu and the only items I personally don't return to are the flatbreads, just not my thing. I opt instead for their sandwiches, salmon tacos, breakfast items, soups. It's all very good. Thanks, Brew!
