We went to celebrate New Year's Eve with our friends. 1st time at this place, we ordered (2) surf & turf, ribeye & catfish. This was a great choice. The ambiance, friendly people & the staff was great except when it came to our bill the waiter messed up both our bill. Items were swapped vice versa on our bill & the waiter went up & rang one of the bill up & threw ticket away for some reason. Also I had calamari, it was an appetizer but it didn't arrive till after the main course. I thought the waiter mention it was on the house since it arrived later. But when we received the bill, the calamari which should have been on my bill was on my friend's & not mine. So afterwards, we reviewed everything and our bill was still $20 or more over charged, so for some reason the waiter stated couldn't retrieve the itemized receipt & he would need to call manager from home to get this resolved. So instead of waiting, we decided to let it go & pay the bill. Overall food was awesome, friendly atmosphere, very nice place, staff nice as well, only thing if you're splitting the bill just make sure to check your bill to make sure it's correct before you pay! 1st time review for this restaurant as part of a Yelp elite squad! read more

Came in for Mobster Mary Sunday. Last Sunday of the month. Let me tell you this place is amazing, get there early if you want a seat! Hanna behind the bar is so AWESOME! All the staff is wonderful! 100% love this place. We come here for the Mobster Bloody Marys and on St Pats day for the food. Special menu delicious. Food was not hot, Irish stew could have been good if it was hot, Mac & cheese w/ brisket didn't haven't Cole slaw, sent it back to be warmed up. The sliced mushroom appetizer was piping hot. That was good, and the beer was good. We don't recommend, and will not be back. read more

The fryed chicken was excellent very juice and tender even the breast was moist. The pork tenderloin was tasteless the salad side salad was very fresh. The fish and chips were also fairly good. Overall a nice place to dine. With a small town vibe. I'll eat here again when I'm in town. 3 stars they need to work on the fryed tenderloin sandwich. Needs salt or some seasoning. read more

We went to Maloney's Pub for the 2nd time today because we really liked the food the 1st time we went there. When we arrived we sat down and the server told us that there was a big crowd in the back and that it would take awhile to get our food. We said ok because we were not in a hurry. We waited for well over an hour and our server came to our table several times and asked us to be patient. She brought out an order of cheese fries and said that our food was almost done. When she brought our food to our table we were thankful. I immediately dove in and started with my french fries, they were not hot as anyone would expect. They were on the colder side of lukewarm. When I bit into my cheese burger the patties were also a little cold. My daughter's macaroni and cheese came out with tomatoes, onions and, lettuce in which she ordered it without. The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because of our waitress bent over backwards to make sure we always had a drink. She even asked if our food was good to our liking, we said it was just because we were hungry and didn't want to send our food back. We will probably go back at least one more time just to make sure that our experience today was just a fluke. read more

Nice local bar with amazing bar food. We started out with sliced breaded portabello mushrooms, deep fried but not greasy. The dipping sauce was good. We ordered the fish and chips basket. It comes with 5-6 good size chunks of Cod, fries and cole slaw. You can also get a Cod fillet dinner with two sides (salad, mac & cheese, broasted potato, mashed potatoes, etc). The fish was some of the best I've eaten. They also have burgers, tenderloins and other sandwiches. They have daily specials and a burger of the month. The only complaint is it can get pretty noisey inside, especially if you are there for Hawkeye Football. However, when the Hawks score a touchdown, it's a free draught beer. Whoop whoop. They do have a nice outside eating area. Try a small town bar! read more

Maloney's is a hidden gem! They have great food that is reasonably priced, nice staff, and a wide variety of drinks. While it is a pub it is SUPER family friendly! Amy is the best waitress as she's friendly and always on top of drink refills and getting anything you may want or need! The best specials they have are Tuesday's Tenderloins, Thursdays Ribs, and Sundays half apps! read more

The place look like it was awesome it was full but slightly one major problem I'm in a wheelchair. I had to tell my friends I could not come in and enjoy the festivities instead I got to go home what a shame. I drive all that way and the place is not ADA compliant. Most places I go to if they don't have a ramp out front they generally have one at the back door used to bring in supplies which can be used for wheelchair access this place had neither might as well put a sign out saying no wheelchairs allowed no handicap people allowed. So if you got to legs you can walk great place but when you're in a wheelchair stay away. I can just see the comments now if they would've been more than happy to pick me up in my chair and bring me inside you don't know how embarrassing it is to be picked up and carried it should have a ramp read more

My wings were not completely cooked and an extremely long wait for the food. We asked to speak to the manager who was half tanked. I was next to her sitting at the bar later waiting for a drink and she was talking horrible about the servers. Not sure how you can run a company with that toxic attitude coming from the top. Not kid friendly at all. There is no kids menu. Our service was horrible. We had to just shy of hunt our waitress down to just get our water refilled. She rarely even bothered to look over to our table. The pants she had on were not appropriate they were basically see through. When she stepped into the sunlight we got the pleasure of seeing her lack of underwear. The food was sub par at best. We ordered the roasted chicken which was just fried chicken. My son had mac and cheese which was glorified Velveeta. All of which took almost an hour to get to our table. We were not impressed at all and won't be going back. Payday, and dinner is much needed. I hadn't brought anything to work for lunch, so I was quite hungry by the time I made the commute home. Decided with a dinner date that Maloney's in Eldridge would be the ticket, after hearing a rave recommendation from a co-worker. I had heard and read mostly good reviews from the blog and review sites as well. Walking in, my dinner date noticed how much different the place looked since the place was up for sale prior to being it's current namesake. I noticed that it was quite clean, though a bit noisy from the after-work bar crowd. There were lots of TV's hanging around, but not too over the top on memorabilia on the walls. But clean. I like clean. We seated ourselves, then were within a few minutes, greeted by our waitress, who had showed up in just enough time to take our drink and appetizer order, after we had a good look over the appetizer portion of the menu. I had heard rave reviews of the deep fried Pickle Chips, so we decided on those. It was about another 12-15 minutes when our Pickle Chips came out, piping hot, plentiful, fresh, and served with a not-quite-totally-generous "supply" of fresh, in-house made Ranch Dressing. I've tried my fair share of fried pickles, both in spear form and chips, and I always love the chips, if not for the lack of nuclear heat that comes from the inside of a deep fried spear, but also, the batter/breading mixture seems to have better luck clinging to the chips, than the spear. These were clearly dipped just prior to frying, and were excellent. The Ranch dressing was top-notch, and obviously fresh made that day. They were a hit for the both of us. Just prior to the ravenous enjoyment of our starter, we ordered up a couple baskets from their menu. The menu at Maloney's is something similar of what you'd see from your average bar and grill, with some obvious exceptions. One of the entrees that caught my eye was the Broasted Chicken. They also have hand-breaded and grilled tenderloin offerings, as well as your classic Reuben, Pulled Pork sandwich, Club, and Chicken Breast sandwiches, among other familiar bar/grill offerings. Making their menu unique are a few Irish offerings, such as Guinness Stew, and Corned Beef and Cabbage. There's also a couple fish and chips/chicken tender basket options. After a good look, My date decided on their 1/2lb. Burger, which was offered up with a myriad of topping options, all for free, such as five different cheese options, your standard salady toppings, and some savory options such as Bacon, Mushrooms, Jalapenos, and Chili. She decided on the Burger, modestly topped, and their Cole Slaw, which is one of their side order choices. I almost immediately went with the Cuban sandwich, which is basically a hot Ham and Swiss, with Pulled Pork, Mustard and Mayo, and Pickles, Pressed Panini-style on Cuban Bread. I got this with their endless-fries option, as she really wanted to have the slaw, but wanted some fries as well, and I'm not much of a fry-guy. As far as service was concerned, food-wise, not too bad. Drink wise? not so hot. I ordered a draft beer, and my date a root beer. I ordered up another beer after the appetizer, after not being asked if i wanted another, and did not notice the empty root beer, and had to ask for another. All too often this happens at bar and grills. The place wasn't exactly busy, at least for the amount of servers they had on the floor. After about 25 minutes our entrees showed up, both pretty well piping hot and fresh. Fresh was the word of the day. My date's Burger was fresh, hand-pattied, and made exactly to order, (something you definitely don't see every day). When ordering, she wanted a side of BBQ sauce, and the waitress informed us there were two kinds, one, a smoky chipotle sweet sauce, and the other was more of a Kansas City sweet, with a little bit of a Frank's Hot Sauce bite to it. Both were excellent. My date thought the burger was "really, really, really good." She also thought the Slaw was quite good, and she's VERY picky about slaw. My dish, was... Fresh. The pickles were excellent, and were definitely the same make and model that we enjoyed deep fried with our appetizer. The bread was good. Nothing exceptional, and I can't really say made in house or not. The pulled pork portion was a little weird, maybe the consistency of canned tuna. But it was, good. The fries? Nothing to write home about, but made for a great vessel for dipping out the rest of the BBQ samples we got from her entree. All in all, I thought my entree was fresh in taste, but average in execution. Her's on the other hand, was quite well received. I'll certainly go for a round with the 1/2lb. Went here last Friday with my family. I had the fish & chips, also known as a plate full of grease. Also, my fries had been sitting out for quite some time, as they were cold & rubbery. I have been to Maloney's before and had okay food. Nothing great though. It seems that everything is frozen or pre-cooked. As long as I have a choice in the matter, I will not be going to this establishment again. read more

Great new pub/restaurant in downtown Eldridge. Owner did an amazing job on remodeling an old building into a hip, fun place to go for pub food and drinks. We decided to check it out for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. First nine days and it was already hopping with people at the bar and restaurant. We had the chicken strip dinner - big portions, freshly made, not frozen. Great service, wonderful atmosphere. The manager, Tim, has been in the restaurant business in Eldridge for some time and is well known for his friendly and capable manner. This place is going to be a big success - check it out. They've also got some fun weekend events going on this summer - our new favorite place to go! read more

My wife and I have been to Maloney's three time with other couples and the first two times the food and service could have been better, about a two, three star rating. The last time we went was on a Sunday night with a couple from out of town. The restaurant wasn't crowded,6-8 tables, about half full. The first thing the waitress said to us was "I'm the only one they have working tonight". We were only going to have appetizers and couple of beers and noticed that the owner, the manager and what appeared to be another worker were out on the floor, so no big deal. It took about ten minutes before we were served our beers and thirty minutes before we received our appetizers. During this time our waitress was the only one serving, clean off tables and ringing up bills. The manager basically stayed behind the bar and the only thing the owner did was talk to some of his friends at another table. We were there about a hour when we decided to have another round of drinks and our friends ordered another appetizer, wings, which we had previously and they were ok. The beers were served about ten minutes later and after about an half hour with an appetizer the waitress said someone took the appetizer meant for our friends and served it to someone else! Fifteen minutes later we saw the bar manager come out of the kitchen with a plate full of wings, not for us but for herself!! We canceled our ordered and asked for our bill. It took fifteen minutes to get our bill because several other tables had issues with their bills and service. When we received our bill it was incorrect! This time my friend walked over to the owner and told him he needed more help and how disappointed we were. The owner told him he didn't need our business and not to come back. I'm not blame the server, she ran her butt off. I blame the manager and owner. They could have bused tables, served beers or go around to the patrons and apologize for the wait. We weren't the only people there that were upset. We have friends that will not go there anymore because of the service and arrogance of the owner.
