The people were pleasant enough, but not efficient like they used to be, we feel the ownership likely has changed and the recipes are a bit dated so without the "old school feel" we are decided this was our last year. Their bakery items are so light, with just the right amount of sweetness, exactly how I like them. You can even save money by ordering the cake online through their website. Advance booking gets you a discount. Don't forget to try their Portuguese egg tarts. I love this bakery. Definitely recommend!

Today I decided to brave the line and finally try out their pastries. ***The wait times may be a little longer since only 5 people are allowed inside at a time in order to maintain physical distancing. I've purchased their pecan tarts, poppyseed pastry, eclair, cream horn and the custard doughnut. They were all so delicious and so fresh!!! I think my favourite so far is the pecan tart and the poppyseed pastry-- they're perfectly baked and perfectly sweet. The service is very hasty, they're there to give you what you need, get you to pay and get you to go home so you can enjoy the pastries! I was a little surprised, but they seem like they're consistently busy and there is just no time to hang around and vibe out. Overall, I think I will definitely be back to repurchase!

8685 10th Ave, Burnaby, BC V3N 2S9…read more https://www.onestopbakery.ca/about Decided to check out the sausage rolls as per recommendations by our members. It is situated in a small mall next to Choices Market. There is sufficient parking available in the mall. The store is small but seriously packed with delicious goodness... it caters to the sweet tooth & to the savory... it has cakes, pies, biscuits. I went for the one item, sausage rolls... it was very good... I heat it up by wrapping it in an aluminum foil in the toaster oven to bake it for 10 mins, then open it up & toast for about 5 minutes occasionally check for the amount of crispness you want on the roll. It was so flaky & the filling in the sausage was good, not salty at all with a slight hint of spice. A very delightful treat... hubby enjoyed it immensely. Definitely worth going back again. They can also custom made cakes and custom make vegan, eggless & gluten free cakes. Check out the photos... Apologies... no photos of the sausage roll fresh out of the toaster oven. It got consumed quickly before I can take one, it's that good! Service was very good, very friendly staff & welcoming

I like this store especially when I'm hungry and needing a quick bite. My favorites are the bbq…read morepork and beef sandwiches. They taste good and are reasonably priced. Wish they had more fillings though. Be forewarned they have a lot of air, lol. But I know it's a high inflation environment. They also have plenty of bread options. They even have cakes. I tried the Black Forest Butter Cake and it was good, creamy and fluffy and would have gone well with coffee. I was satisfied! The place is clean. It's inside the mall. They take cash only unfortunately. So have to make sure you have cash with you.

They put a big piece of coloured plastic (black and red) to surround the 8" durian cake that I…read moreordered and they taped the plastic which made it difficult to remove it (usually the bakeries put a small transparent plastic to surround the cake without the tape because it is easier to remove it this way). Also, the coloured plastic was unnecessary for the kind of cake that I ordered (usually it is used to stabilize the mousse cake but mine is a cream cake). The coloured plastic made the cake look ugly, and it gave them an excuse to put less cream and decoration for the cake. Everything was tasteless - the cream (powder taste), the durian meat (weak taste mixed with cream), the sponge cake (minimal egg taste), and the fruits on top of the cake (they did not have the clear sugar glaze for the fruits; they tasted bitter and the kiwi still had bits of skin on - it was gross). The cake was nasty because the flavour of the ingredients was minimal and it was not sweet. It deterred you from finishing it. In addition, there was a small piece of debris (brown shell) in the cake; it was scary. They did a poor job for the cake (it was just big and heavy - quantity over quality); it was very disappointing. In terms of the service, the staff asked me to pay some deposit when I ordered the cake at the store. It was unusual for bakeries to ask customers for deposit because usually customers pay when they pick up the cake (e.g. when you order the cake by phone then you pay when you pick it up). When I went there to pick up the cake, the staff did not greet me, look at me, or talk to me at all; she just took my receipt and retrieved the cake. She did not even say 'thank you' and she looked annoyed. The staff should be happy to get the whole cakes for customers because the whole cakes are the most expensive item in the store and they are celebratory. The fact that she just taped one small candle with the plastic knife on the box without asking was unprofessional. Cakes are about happy occasions. But their cake made me feel terrible after eating it. They charged me $80 for the cake. It was not even worth half the price with the service. P.S. The bakeries always have a catalogue of cakes for customers because the store would not have all kinds of cakes available in the fridge. Then the staff would explain to customers of their design capabilities. That is service. The fact that the bakeries do not provide a catalogue to customers and just give customers a price list instead means they want to limit the choices for customers by just showing the customers the cakes in the fridge. That means they do not want customers to be happy. If the staff do not want to sell to customers, that means they do not want business.

One of my friends took me to Richmond Centre specifically for Saint Germain; was it this good?…read moreActually, I walked by and with discipline window shopped this bakery. A day later, I find myself back here, having an egg tart, Portuguese egg tart, double almond croissant, and banana bread. Both egg tarts were great. While the crust wasn't the crispiest and flakiest, this was preferred. (Maybe I'm the minority who dislikes when the flakes fly everywhere!) The egg portions were just sweet enough and eggy enough, not too thick and not too thin. The almond croissant was very generous with the almond slices, and it was a tasty croissant overall. It also wasn't too crispy or flaky, which was fine. I enjoyed how chewy the interior was. The banana bread slice was also very good. This one surprised me; it was definitely more spongey than I expected, though. Service was great, and they can serve in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. Communication was interesting, since some staff only speak Mandarin, but it was a fun experience nonetheless. The staff were so friendly, and I know I'll be returning soon!

We arrived there 10 ish and checked out the cake list. We opted for a mango pudding cake and they told us to wait 20 minutes as they were in the process of making it. I found the menu prices quite affordable and relatively lower compared to a lot of those dessert shops that sell cakes. When we opened the cake later in the afternoon, we all found it nicely presented. There was an abundance of fruits on top. The cake itself was also not too sweet which was perfect for us. The cake only had one layer of pudding and the rest of the layers consisted of sponge cake and minimal mango pieces. Overall, the cake does the job nicely at a reasonable price.
