After ordering, our drinks were brought out, but the food still wasn't at the table at 6:45. We asked for crayons so the children could color, but they were not forthcoming. I got up after 20 minutes to get the crayons myself. I ran into the waitress and reminded her that we needed crayons. She went and got them. We talked about leaving and paying for our drinks. The waitress came and told us there was a "glitch in the system and our ticket didn't print." That was an explanation without meaning. Our food began to arrive in pieces. It took another 15 minutes for everyone at the table (4 adults and 2 children) to get their food. Someone in management came out and comped my daughter's appetizer. Upon paying the bill, there was an automatic 18% tip added to the bill. We are good tippers and would have left at least that much (not because the service was good and not because we loved the food.) It wasn't the money I objected to, it was taking my right to determine what we would leave as a TIP (to insure promptness). It really ate at me. I called the restaurant where a women answered and told me the manager was too busy to speak to me, but she would have him call me back if I told her my problem. She became snippy and rude as I explained my issue. Later, she called back and in the same short and irritated way told me that the manager wouldn't talk to me, but they would return the tip to my credit card. I told her that was not the goal I had in mind. I wanted to let the owner/manager know that I don't like the policy of adding a tip without consent. She told me the policy was printed on the menu (I guess I was looking for food and missed the legal ease.) I suggested that the policy should be on a sign as you enter the restaurant so that people don't feel violated when you assign them an amount to leave the staff. She said, "So, do you want the refund?" I said, "yes", which kind of surprised me, but her attitude sent me over the edge. I provided my credit card information and will NEVER return to this restaurant!

The restaurant was pretty crowded and the river view was amazing at dusk. We started with the Manila Clams and they were really fantastic. The fresh drawn butter and broth were excellent. The sourdough bread that we were served made a great sponge. The Boomtown Syrah was a perfect choice with my order. I decided to try the Rockfish and was not disappointed. The fish was perfectly cooked with a great Cajun spice that for heat didn't take away from the dish. My teammates opted for the fish and chips and 8oz sirloin ( see pictures ). The service was a bit slow for a Wednesday night and our waiter had tables all over so he was definitely a bit task saturated.

Food quality was at par with my expectation and truly enjoyed the full dining experience. If there was one thing that separates this place from other similar places is that it's not as hectic and busy so we actually had more variety of meat cuts more frequently. Our chef Kali was amazing along with her staff and gave us extra attention you'd never get from a large chain place.

We usually order the full meal and try different meats during our meal. I really enjoy the grilled pineapple that is served during the protein service. Some cuts of meat are superior to others and some have seasoning that I enjoy and others - not so much. But that is what is great about this restaurant, you can just say no to the meats that you don't want or cannot eat and get a double serving of what you do like. The beef rib (I believe it is a boneless short rib) is divine. The service is spectacular. The two servers who were working our table, Omar and Callie, were very friendly and informative. They both ensured that we had a nice experience for my birthday. I also heard occasional laughter from the kitchen which was nice. Happy people who are enjoying themselves makes for the best teamwork. We'll continue to go back when we want a treat.

She was amazing, her food was astonishing to say the least. It is an automatic 7 course meal for $109 per person at the time of this review and it's worth every penny. Our friends made the reservation, and before going, my wife and I checked the restaurant's website to get an idea of the cost. The website listed the seven-course meal at $89 per person. Our final charge was $109 per person, plus a mandatory 20% gratuity. That discrepancy was frustrating, especially given the quality of the meal. (someone else commented on this in the reviews - maybe it is time to fix the website). Unfortunately, the food was extremely disappointing. I ordered the steak frites, or "steak frits" as it was written on the menu, and it bore little resemblance to a proper steak frites. The steak was a dry, overcooked cube of meat served on top of fries that looked and tasted similar to frozen store-bought steak fries, along with an unidentified pink sauce. My wife ordered the scallops with lobster ravioli. The scallops were overcooked, and the ravioli appeared to have been previously cooked and then fried or reheated. They were and rubbery rather than fresh and tender. I realize my expectations may be higher because I am accustomed to dining in larger metropolitan areas, but we have had far better meals at several restaurants in Walla Walla. I cannot understand why anyone would make the drive specifically for this restaurant unless they were already staying at the B&B. Even then, I would recommend going into town for dinner. The service was also slow. Our server tried to remain pleasant, but she clearly seemed unhappy or overwhelmed. We were a group of six, and none of us finished our main courses. Despite the amount of uneaten food left on the table, she didn't ask whether everything was satisfactory. The one positive was the pleasant view of the surrounding canyon and landscape. Unfortunately, the scenery was not enough to make up for the poor food, slow service and unexpected pricing. Lastly I do not believe all their positive reviews are organic or they really have gone down hill. Fine dinning this is NOT!
