I'm not sure what's going on with this place but this was a horrible experience. Do not go eat here on a Sunday evening, all the good food is gone by then. We've enjoyed this place in the past but it's been a couple years since we stopped in. We both ordered the Carne Asada and garlic butter shrimp. Nothing was seasoned. Like at all. The beans felt gritty. The mushrooms with the shrimp were canned I think. No hints of garlic. I ate a quarter of mine and my husband maybe half. We ended up throwing our leftovers away because we were both kind of nauseous for most of the day. Not food poisoning sick, but lunch seems to be the common denominator for us both. 2 stars because the salsa bar at least was great. read more

Upon entering hostess asked how many people we said five then they asked in Spanish twice, and we said five then the hostess proceeded to ask if we didn't speak Spanish, and we said yes, we got the impression she was upset we didn't answer in Spanish and kind of scoffed, and walked away Which put a damper on our first impression upon entering. Very unassuming store front close to Walmart. Wonderful to be greeted and served with smiles and frequent check ins. Portions were large! We moved to Tri-Cities almost a year ago. Coming from Arizona where good Mexican food was very easy to find. We were struggling to find a favorite place here in the Tri-Cities. We found out about Hacienda del Sol on a recommendation from a local and I am so grateful! The food has been fantastic, even the takeout portions are huge! As a family, we have collectively tried close to a dozen items so far and none of them have been disappointing! We have only done takeout so I can't speak to the "dine in" experience. read more

Visiting from California and it's hard to find good Mexican food in a small city but we hit a gold mine here reminds of a local spot where I'm from food was great service was awesome very quick and the ambiance was perfect very authentic definitely must try and the Macahete was so good . Arroz con pollo was our favorite. The last (every Thursday) couple times we were there they must have changed chefs, quality down. Went again Saturday the 2nd. And the service matched the declining taste. Sat for 20 minutes while the staff ate and visited at the taco bar and table in the lounge. The service is horrible, and the food is worse. $17 for tortilla soup that has pressed canned chicken. I called an order in for pick up, I ordered the Arrachera salad, which comes with steak, mushrooms, tomato's, avocado, onions and cheese. When I opened my food back home I was at a loss for words. Instead of steak I had frozen chicken strips that were reheated and diced up, no mushrooms or cheese and the teeny tiny container of salad dressing was broken and spilled in the bag. My daughter and I had a wonderful and high quality dinner tonight. I had a combination tamale and enchilada plate and my daughter had a carne asada plate. Both were delicious! For desert we had the best flan I have ever tasted. It was outstanding and literally melt in our mouths! I also had the best pina colada I've ever had. I then go to the business and place my order for 2 meals to go. I waited 40 minutes and I still didn't receive my food. I just left. From what I remember the food was good but I have been trying to contact these people since 2020. I ordered catering for my wedding, March 27th 2020 and we all know what happened. Contacted them a week before several times a day for multiple days-no answer at all, even after leaving voicemails (plural). Over $600 they have pocketed and not reached out once to try to come up with a solution, I even had the venue reach out on my behalf to no avail. I would give this restaurant a 4 for food but the service was a three at best. On top that the would not honor a coupon they have on their website. When attempting to pay the bill I presented the coupon on my phone to the cashier. She declined to honor the coupon stating "it needs to be printed". I pointed out to her the website did not state the coupon had to be printed. She said "I don't care". I didn't want to be a Karen so I paid the bill and tipped the staff 15% (the coupon refusal was not their fault). I hope the management see this and either accepts the coupon from their own website when presented on a phone (like so many other merchants do) or posts a notice on their website that "a printed copy of the coupon is required" . This place was clean and looked freshly painted and kept up on the inside. My husband and I decided to give this place a try since we rarely get to this side of pasco anymore. We split an order of fajita trio (chicken/prawn/steak) the fajitas had very good flavor and were juicy. Lord of other places cook the fajitas with little to no juices for the meats and veggies to soak up the flavor. The peppers and veggies in the fajita were lots and fresh. Took my date here as I had heard only good things about it, and I definitely thought the food was good. What left a lot to be desired was the service, or at least once you're seated! The PROS: front desk was very kind and got us seated immediately, a waitress came up to us and got our orders very quickly. What earned this place the 3 stars alone was that the food was great and the food was out within minutes. My date got the 3 tacos and I got the classic burrito, I thought it was great! The CONS: I am very disappointed how this experience almost single handedly ruined the positive vibe of my date. You will immediately know right off the bat which waitresses want to be there, and being in my young 20's, the older waitresses especially came off extremely rude despite me trying to be friendly and make fun small talk with one of them. We never saw the waitress who assisted us first again, were never checked up on to see if needed the bill or more water, and I also had to take 3 attempts to flag down a waitress who was catering a bigger table right next door and seemed very annoyed and dismissive to assist us. I took the bill up front and happily payed for the meal at the kind front desk employees (as we were practically invisible to the waitresses on the floor) To summarize: good food you can get quickly, but the service leaves much to be desired and this place is definitely not a place to take a date. Basically, I don't care too much for this place. The service was poor and maybe even a bit sullen. But what kept Hacienda Del Sol from getting just two stars was their better than average salsa and a very decent pulpo (octopus) dish. The ambience is horrid. This is not a sports bar, or even a bar and grill, but they have little flat screen televisions in opposite corners of the dining rooms near the ceiling. Where I was sitting on this blustery, spitting rain October afternoon, one TV was showing a Dallas Cowboys game, while the TV above my head was broadcasting a Mexican talk show. The dual sound sources created an annoying din. Instead of cilantro, Hacienda's salsa was made with oregano and had delightful bits of scallion and tomato. Very nice. It's not often I see cooked octopus on a menu, so I jumped at the opportunity. Sauteed with garlic butter and mushrooms, the generous serving of pulpo was excellent. It came in a standard combination plate, i.e. with Mexican rice, refried beans (topped with both white and yellow cheese) and a cabbage-based salad that was not, per se, coleslaw, but was excellent with a fresh and slightly tart flavor. Not sure who the target market is for Hacienda. The clientele on a Sunday afternoon was about half Mexican and half Caucasian.
