The server starts you off with a complimentary serving of peppers and onions in olive oil with thinly sliced crusty bread. I started with the clams casino appetizer which was hot and enjoyable, nice consistency of chopped clams, bread crumbs and seasoning The salad was next with which I ordered with honey mustard dressing which the server told me was not available. When the salad arrived I noticed the server went out of her way to top it with honey mustard dressing. I enjoyed the main course of a 6oz. filet mignon, which was a large enough slice for the number of courses served. Absolutely tender and delicious and as always a perfect medium rare. The meal was ended with a delicious creamy NY style cheesecake. The patronage is a testament to the value and quality of the food, always a crowded dining room. Wednesday night features a singing entertainer Always a byob which many of the patrons enjoy, which also adds to the value of the dining experience. This is one of the best restaurants in this part of south Jersey.

True to its reputation, the Shanghai calamari was a huge hit and went fast. Clams casino ok. Mussels good- it was all about the dunking broth. I got the purse pasta which had seafood and was delicious that night and again the next day. Loved the spumoni ice cream dessert. Hard to find Place is BYOB and service was attentive with glasses and opener. I had also bought a bottle of lemoncello for us afterward and it was a hit.

I love trying new restaurants and have had this place on my radar for a while…read more We decided on a whim to try them on a Saturday night in the summer. We got right in with no wait. There was live music in the main dining room consisting of one singer singing Latin music. We were each given a tablet with the menu, which was pretty awesome. It took us a long time to decide what we wanted because we were enthralled by the extensive menu with all of the photos on the tablet. I decided to order a cocktail and my husband got the horchata while my mom got an unsweetened iced tea. They have a full bar with a ton of specialty drinks. My drink arrived with flower petals adorned to the side of the glass. We also received complimentary chips with salsa and salsa verde. As an appetizer we decided to do the taquitos. I love taquitos so I was excited, and the presentation was great. However when we bit into them we noticed they were just pieces of chicken breast rolled in tortillas and fried. No seasoning. No cheese, nothing mixed in. I was surprised. The taquitos I've had in the past are made with shredded chicken and potatoes with cheese. These were lacking flavor and dry. I wanted to love them so much but I just couldn't. For our entrees, I did the chimichanga mixto which was a chicken and beef chimichanga. They were on the smaller side but plenty for one person. The filling was mixed with salsa but again felt bland. They were serviced with a side of rice. My mom got the pina loka, which was grilled shrimp, chicken, and steak with onions and peppers inside a pineapple. Hers was very good. My husband got the La Jeño mix which had chicken shrimp and steak with cheese sauce, rice, and veggies. The flavor of his was pretty good as well. We skipped dessert, but the menu was extensive with all your Mexican favorites plus items like chicken parm. They also have a full breakfast menu. The music was very loud for the small dining area if you wanted to have a conversation, but the singer was doing his thing. We made sure to tip him on our way out. The servers checked on us frequently and service overall was good, I just wish the food wowed us more because I so wanted this to be our new fave.

I called this morning 10 days after I placed my order and they collected the $223. for the 10 crab cakes and had the pleasure of speaking with a less than stellar employee IMO. This employee was IMO rude and argumentative They stated a banner came up when I ordered saying they'd be delayed due to being closed for the holiday. I never saw any such banner I did get an email days after I ordered saying they would be closed an extra day for the holiday. That being said it would mean they had not shipped my order in 8 days Yes that was her excuse. Then when I stated I just wanted a refund she wanted me to provide information I didn't have right in front of me for her to verify the order she had just given me the order date for, so she obviously had that information right in front of her. After about 20-30 seconds of her waiting for me to look it up she decided she didn't need me to give it to her. This is not the Bobby Chez I remember. They will never get my order or recommendation again. That being said after reading the recent reviews this may have been a blessing in disguise.

Dinner menu and specials menu looked promising. The place is still dark, but it adds to the inside ambiance. Kayleigh was our server. She was attentive without being over bearing. Drinks were ordered and delivered. DH had his usual vodka tonic and I ordered my classic Old Fashioned with Makers Mark. Points off for the way it was made. Many small ice chips, a macerated piece of orange and a macerated whole maraschino cherry, complete with stem. I fished out the chips and put them on my small bread plate. Didn't discover the stem until deep into the drink. (I prefer the classic recipe using a large ice cube, a Luxardo cherry, and a slice of orange peel) Salad bar was well stocked. Hard pass on the lettuce because of the recent cyclospora scare, but we found other items. Potato salad, macaroni salad, hard boiled egg, chick peas, sliced beets, pineapple, cheese cubes, various breads Dinner was delicious. I ordered the Tips and Tails. It was steak tips, lobster tail and two fried large shrimp, a huge baked potato. DH had the stuffed salmon and asparagus also with the baked potato Lots of leftovers. And a slice of Whiskey cake to go.

This was only my second time at the Chop House (my first being about year ago for my wife's…read morebirthday) even though my wife's family are what you could call regulars. My wife again chose The Chop House for her birthday dinner celebration and for great reason! We came on her birthday, a Tuesday evening, for drinks and appetizers in the bar area. The gentleman working valet was very respectful and professional and while I can take or leave valet in most cases, he definitely added to the upscale experience of the entire night. Upon seating ourselves at a high-top, both bartenders on shift greeted us with huge smiles and very warm hello's. They are familiar faces to my wife's family and were genuinely happy to see us. Unfortunately, we learned my wife's family's favorite server, Debbie, recently retired but great for her! The bartenders were fabulous themselves. Service, personability, mixology skills were all top-notch. They fit the sophisticated vibe of the restaurant perfectly. We started with drinks of course! A Stoli Elit Martini with a twist, a Dirty Martini, an Apple Butter Old Fashioned, and a Tito's and Club. The drinks came out beautifully. Smooth, chilled. I ordered the Apple Butter Old Fashioned as I was intrigued, but skeptical. While I thought it was good, I'd prefer a regular or Smoked Old Fashioned to the Apple Butter. My wife loved it though. We ordered lots of food to split and each appetizer we picked was as good if not better than the next. The Tuna Nachos fresh and had a tropical, savory flavor with pineapple mixed in. The Kona Tips were tender, full of flavor coming from the Kona crust and sautéed mushrooms/onions, and were served in a skillet full of sauce perfect for soaking up with bread. I actually liked the Kona Tips appetizer more than I liked the Kona Crust I got on my NY Strip I ordered last year (the Strip was great I'd just prefer no Kona crust on the entree). The Flatbread De Jour was a Kona Tip flatbread, which you may call us crazy for ordering two Kona Tip inspired appetizers, but the Kona Tips are just that good. The Oysters we had were small (just how I like them) and were up there with the best Oysters I've had. We finished up with Fried Calamari. They were lightly battered, fried nicely, tender, and served over a bed of different hot peppers (when I say hot, I mean it!). Everything was delicious and there wasn't one appetizer we chose that I wouldn't order again or recommend to others. We did order a few more drinks throughout the night -- another Elit Martini and a Hendrix Martini with the appetizers and then Bailey's on the rocks and Frangelico on the rocks as after dinner, dessert drinks. We ordered a Brownie Sundae for the table for my wife's birthday while she was excused from the table and the bartender brought it out with a lit candle. The bartender also brought out a complementary miniature Crème Brûlée for my wife as she acknowledged The Chop House's Crème Brûlée as one of her favorites earlier in the night when we were talking about the menu. I thought the entire night went as good as you could have hoped. Valet, bar service, food, drinks, desserts, atmosphere. Everything was amazing and most importantly my wife had a great birthday. This is two years in a row we celebrated her birthday at The Chop House and I wouldn't mind seeing this turn into her birthday tradition.

He checked on us through out our meal to ensure we were enjoying our meal. We had the calamari and dozen raw oysters which were both fresh and delicious. We had the Chophouse steak experience which worked out perfectly for our table of four and actually could've feed 5 easily. It consisted of 4 cuts of steaks and my favorites were the filet and ribeye. They were seasoned perfectly and grilled medium rare. Our sides were mashed potatoes, CH hash browns, and grilled asparagus. The weakest link was the asparagus which were small in size but still tasty. I will definitely be back based on service, food and value. This is a perfect restaurant for celebrations, dates and casual dining. Definitely a gem of a restaurant. Will be back sooner than later.
