Quantity is great! Definitely best bang for your buck. Just know that they close even the dining at 9p so we did feel a little rushed since walked in around 8:30p. read more

Ambiance is chill I love how everything in chapel hill is blue. We were the only ones there so food came out in five minutes. Ordered the kothey and Schezwan momos with chicken. The filing for both was the same and really nice, spiced well and cooked just the right amount. The sauces that came on the side with the kothey momo were excellent! Cut through the pan fried dumplings. As for the schezwan momo, they were so soft! I felt like the sauce it came in was too sweet/tangy and felt like one of those store bought sauces so this was a no for me. Overall solid place! I'd go back for the kothey momo. Lowks overpriced though given that there's no service either. read more

I ordered the momo chicken roll thinking that because of the name it would be a momo, but sadly it was not. It was just chicken and lettuce rolled inside a flour tortilla and although the chicken inside the wrap was very delicious, I was disappointed because I was expecting to get momos. The service was also a little bit slow despite my friends and I being the only people dining in, and all of our dishes came out at different times. read more

An unexpected and unique meal in Chapel Hill. We got the Mint Bomb (Pani-Puri) for an appetizer and it was so refreshing. I can't say I've ever had anything like it, which was cool. The crunch of the puri with the tartness of the mint water was fun. For my entree, I got the MoMo sizzler which was enormous. The garlic noodles were so good and the serving was enough for 3 people. Next time I'll order extra dumplings to go with the noodles. read more

The positives: Some of the best momos that I have ever eaten! I had the veggie momos and the chili momos, both of which were so flavorful. I also enjoyed the green and orange sauces that came with them. Prices were reasonable and the portions were hearty. The negatives: None that I can think of! The in-between: I got my food to-go, so I can't speak to the ambiance or service of the place unfortunately. Overall, this is a great place if you are craving momos or dumplings. I will have to check them out in person next time! read more

Stopped in for lunch. The service was great. The food took a while but the owner (I think) took great care of me, even bringing me a cup of chai (which was delicious) while I was waiting. It's simple and not an overly fancy place but I really enjoyed the food. I'll definitely be back soon. read more

This place was solid overall. I would highly recommend the curry as it had a great flavor and the chicken was very tender. The dumplings and wings were nothing special with the wings having little flavor at all. The food came out quick and hot and the service was good. read more

I have a soft spot in my heart for this place! I love how the food is always piping hot. The momo's of course are a must order. They come with a tangy green sauce and a milder orange sauce. Last time I ordered the Masala tea which was so spicy, rich, and amazing. Also would recommend the Biryani. A star docked because I saw a baby cockroach :( read more

Momo's Master - Kothey Momos, Nepali Chicken Curry - Himalayan/Nepalese Near Me - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

The food here is amazing! We got the jhol momos, dahi puri, and Momo chat. The jhol momos had more of a tomato flavor than I expected but the flavor grew on me. Overall, all the dishes were very good. Momo's master is a good option for vegetarians as well because most items have a vegetarian option. Also, despite being on Franklin street, it's not difficult to find parking here because there is a lot near the restaurant. The lot gets busy during game days but otherwise it's a safe bet. read more

Heard lots about this place and decided to drop in for lunch while in Chapel Hill. Great atmosphere and very good service. Had the bison momo - amazing! Nepali chicken also delicious. Disappointed by the bao buns - flavor okay, but too little meat and too much lettuce. Definitely will be back again. read more

We got the veggie sizzler momo, chicken Tikka masala, and the garlic naan. Its a casual-style restaurant where you pay first, and you get a number so they could drop off your food to the table you choose (self-serve seating). While they excelled in some dishes, others could improvement: -Veggie Sizzler Momo ($13.99) 5/5 - such a delicious dish with noodles served on a cast-iron pan and four veggie Momo's seasoned with ethnic spices. Noodles included cabbage, asparagus, onions and carrots. - Chicken Tikka Masala ($13.99) 3/5 - A few pieces of cubed pieces of chicken along with a large heaping of rice. The curry tasted a little sweeter than most curries, and dish could have used more chicken for a more satiating meal. - Garlic Naan ($4.99) 2/5 - Naan didn't actually have any garlic, and the bread wasn't authentic oven baked naan. Portion size was very small for $5. Flavor was OK. It was a self-serve restaurant, so minimal service but the cashier was friendly. Id come back again, but only for the Momo's. read more

Super authentic Nepali restaurant lovated perfectly off of Franklin street in the heart of Chapel Hill. We were craving momos and this is the go to spot if you are in the area. It used to be Himalyan bistro and rebranded now however the food is delicious and service is amazing! The owners and servers are alll super sweet and kind and made for a very enjoyable experience. Their chutneys were delicious and flavorful and definitely satisfied our cravings. They also gave a us gulab jamun ice cream sunday on the house for Valentines Day which only made our experience sweeter and memorable. Kudos to the management for running this place like they do and I hope they stay in business forever! read more

Momo's Master - Steamed pork dumplings - Himalayan/Nepalese Near Me - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

A quaint place that looks like it decided to take over a diner environment (some counter stools still remain). The staff was incredibly friendly while you order at the counter and take your number to the table with plenty of suggestions. The food came out quickly and was pretty tasty all around. The paneer is a bit firmer than I usually enjoy, and the momo was packed on each other after steaming so all the wrappers were sticking together and ripping apart when separating them. Overall, the sauce for the paneer tikka was flavorful and the sauces that accompany the momo were some of the highlights of the meal. read more

This place was great! Came here with some colleagues for lunch. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant is very cute. I ordered the Momo Sizzler. Overall, great dish and generous portion. Next time, I'd probably just order the momos - the noodle sauce was a little tomato-y. The momos however were delicious!!! I got the veggie momos - the filling was reminiscent of a samosa (spiced potato/pea). I also tried the butter naan which was super soft and fresh. Definitely suggest this place if you're visiting campus or in the Chapel Hill area. read more

Momo's Master - Sizzler Momos (veggie) - Himalayan/Nepalese Near Me - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

We were in town and saw this place had some good reviews and decided to try it out. Ultimately, we really enjoyed our experience! The place smells amazing and the incense is a nice homey touch. The booths are private and spacey (for those of you with dining in anxiety) and the little bar seats are cute. We came in looking confused and were welcomed and directed immediately. Drinks and food came out quick, and everything was super yummy. The only reason reason we wouldn't give it a total 5 is due to the price, we paid ~ $70 and some portions felt small. Specifically the tikki masala could have used more protein and I would have loved more veggies in with my noodles. Still a lovely homey meal, the pan fried chicken dumplings were really good and I enjoyed the sauces! * Also parking sucks, so maybe plan out beforehand! read more

A Nepalese restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill. This place was a great find. All three of us ordered the MoMo Sizzlers, which came with noodles. The vegetables were fresh, noodles cooked perfect, and the monos were amazing. My friend also ordered the fried rice, which was really delicious as well. You could either order on your phone or go up to the register to order. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Even on a Sunday night, this place was pretty busy. MoMo Masters is definitely worth the drive to go visit. read more

This food was amazing. I never had Nepali or Himalayan food but I could tell from the pictures on google how good it was going to be. We ordered the food on doordash, got it delivered late, and everything was still warm and delicious. I would have this weekly if I was closer to the area. We ordered: Veggie chow mein, chicken chow mein, veggie fried rice, shrimp fried rice, veggie dumplings, chicken dumplings, 2 orders of lamb sliders, chicken tikka masala, and the nepali chicken. All together the food was around $110 (plus our delivery fees) which is GREAT for 8 amazing items with generous portions. We have nothing bad to say about any item. Everything was absolutely delicious and even our picky eater friend was a fan. My top 2 dishes were the veggie dumplings and lamb sliders. If you get anything from here try the lamb sliders first! My friends also loved the chicken dishes. This food was definitely cooked with care and super flavorful. The portions were great and the prices were even better. I think anybody who likes any Asian food would really appreciate this place. Since we ordered it I don't know about the service of ambiance but when we called earlier the woman on the phone was very kind. read more

Minimalist but classy interior. Staff was friendly and the service quick. The side of Honey Bacon Brussels was good. But the star was the spicy Chili Momos made with chicken. Excellent curry like flavor and the spiciness was on point, not so hot that I was sweating but hot enough that my lips were tingling. So if you don't like the heat order something else. I'll be back to try their other items. Maybe go vegetarian. read more

I actually really loved this place - cozy atmosphere, great fast and friendly service and super tasty food with reasonable prices, especially on a cold rainy night. We got several plates of momos - the Szechuan, chili paneer, and plain steamed which were all really good but my favorite of the bunch was the Szechuan. They were really spicy so watch out, but I love me some spice! We also had the papdi chaat among a hard to choose list of South Asian street food - it was crispy, well seasoned, delicious and up to par. I can't comment on any of the plates with rice as we didn't get these, but I'm sure they were delicious too. My husband had a mango lassi which was just perfect - sometimes places get lassi wrong somehow with the level of tartness balanced with the sweetness, but this one took me back to my childhood and I would definitely get again. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area and love dumplings! read more

This small, unassuming restaurant was a fantastic find. We had vegetable samosas, vegetable momos (Nepalese dumplings) and a chicken curry with rice. Every dish was delicious. The samosas were spiced differently from the Indian ones I've had, which was a surprise. The chicken was stewed to perfection. The wait staff was sweet and delightful. This is not fine dining -- order at the counter, sit in a booth. We didn't try the more adventurous dishes, but what we had was superb. I hope more customers will frequent this little Nepalese treasure. read more

Yummy food with a homey vibe! It was a self service kind of restaurant, you just sit down and scan the menu on the QR code and order on your phone. You can also order at the front table if you want. They have iced water at the front as well, and you also have to grab your own utensils from the front which was a little confusing at first. We got the pani puri, the chili momos (chicken and bison), steamed momos, and pan fried momos. They were all delicious, with the perfect flour to filling ratio. The chicken in my chili momos was so flavorful! The pani puri was also pretty good. I've never tried it before, but it had a really unique flavor with the chickpeas paired with the mint/onions. If you're ever in the mood for some comfort food, get some of these momos. I will be coming back to eat more! read more

Momo's Master - Chili momos, steamed momos, pan fried momos - Himalayan/Nepalese Near Me - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

This restaurant is a walk in and order before sitting down type of restaurant, which I didn't realize at first. After reading some yelp reviews, we ordered the Himalayan Masala tea, which was good and lived up to the hype. We also got chili chicken momos and johl veggie momos, as well as home fries. I couldn't taste a huge difference between the chicken and veggie momos, especially since the veggie momos were drowned in the johl broth. Both of these momos were surprisingly spicy. I'm not the best with spice, so my stomach was not happy with me the next day haha. The momos were still super tasty though (the johl momos were better in my opinion, maybe because they were less spicy), and I was pretty full afterwards, especially since we also ordered fries. The fries were thick, had a good crunch to them, and came with bang sauce, which was really good. However, I will say their takeout system was confusing when I went. I ordered at the register for a momo to go and asked a waiter if it was done after around 20 minutes. The waiter checked the counter, said yes, and then went back into the kitchen. I thought they were grabbing something for my order, but instead they just went back to work without another word. I eventually had to ask another employee after another 5 minutes to finally get my to go order. Overall, Momo's Master is a decent restaurant that isn't like any other in the area. However, I'm not sure if I would return. If I were to come back, I would definitely ask to get less spice in whatever momos I order. I would also try the banana lassi, as it seems unique to the restaurant. read more

Stopped in here for lunch with my coworkers and we all agreed that the portions were pretty big and the prices were really reasonable. The table loved the himalayan fried rice, samosas, and dumplings. The tikka masala wasn't the best compared to some of my fav places in Cary but I appreciated the large portion. The service is really fast, you order at the counter and the food comes out less than 5 minutes later. The inside has a lot of light and I like that you can seat yourself. read more

By the owner, it was recommended that I get the fish and chips, and Bison MoMos. Both were truly superb. Reasonably priced, and excellently flavored. This space has turned over a lot in recent years, but that does sum up Franklin Street. Interesting menu with a lot of variety. We tried the mint bombs (really good), the Momo with paneer, and the fried rice with chicken. The ambiance is a bit lacking and the space could use some general refresh - our table was a bit wobbly and everything looked a bit tired. read more

The momos were very good. They held flavor from the sauces and condiments very well and were a very interesting take on traditional momos. I particularly liked the chili momo, it included an assortment of vegetables with it. The johl momos did not include anything else other than the sauce. The momos came with 2 sauces, mint chutney and johl momo sauce. The mint chutney in particular paired very well with both of the momos that I tried, I highly recommend you give it a try. The momo wings were good wings, seasoned well, but other then that nothing else to say about it. Also the chai was delicious, came in a relatively small cup for $3.99. In all, I really enjoyed the food, everything tasted great. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is that I feel like the price to portion ratio is not quite worth it (from a college student's point of view). $10 for 8 small to medium sized momos is a little steep for me, but everyone will have a different opinion on this. read more

I went to Momo's based on Yelp reviews. I took a student from UNC. We ordered a range of dishes. I first tried the meatballs. Fortunately, I cut one in half before eating. It was raw. The student I was with was shocked because she would have just eaten it (and possible gotten quite ill). I took the dish back. I had minimal apology. Later we received a replaced with much smaller meatballs (maybe 1-3rd the size and yet the same number). The dumplings were good, but needed something to bring out the flavors. The chat was my favorite. We had five dishes and I honestly can't remember the other two. There is almost no service here and little ambiance. The food seems unique, but I can get all the flavors easily in Atlanta. Mixing them doesn't quite work - ends up a somewhat spicy, salty combination. Need to take care ordering (the person at the register was no help with this). I won't go back as my choice but would go if others wanted to go. I l'll stick was basics and will always check food for doneness. read more
