The crunch of the puri with the tartness of the mint water was fun. For my entree, I got the MoMo sizzler which was enormous. The garlic noodles were so good and the serving was enough for 3 people. The positives: Some of the best momos that I have ever eaten! I had the veggie momos and the chili momos, both of which were so flavorful. I also enjoyed the green and orange sauces that came with them. Prices were reasonable and the portions were hearty. The negatives: None that I can think of! Overall, all the dishes were very good. Momo's master is a good option for vegetarians as well because most items have a vegetarian option. Noodles included cabbage, asparagus, onions and carrots. - Chicken Tikka Masala ($13.99) 3/5 - A few pieces of cubed pieces of chicken along with a large heaping of rice. Super authentic Nepali restaurant lovated perfectly off of Franklin street in the heart of Chapel Hill. We were craving momos and this is the go to spot if you are in the area. It used to be Himalyan bistro and rebranded now however the food is delicious and service is amazing! The owners and servers are alll super sweet and kind and made for a very enjoyable experience. Their chutneys were delicious and flavorful and definitely satisfied our cravings. They also gave a us gulab jamun ice cream sunday on the house for Valentines Day which only made our experience sweeter and memorable. A quaint place that looks like it decided to take over a diner environment (some counter stools still remain). The staff was incredibly friendly while you order at the counter and take your number to the table with plenty of suggestions. The food came out quickly and was pretty tasty all around. The paneer is a bit firmer than I usually enjoy, and the momo was packed on each other after steaming so all the wrappers were sticking together and ripping apart when separating them. This place was great! Came here with some colleagues for lunch. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant is very cute. I ordered the Momo Sizzler. Overall, great dish and generous portion. Next time, I'd probably just order the momos - the noodle sauce was a little tomato-y. The momos however were delicious!!! A Nepalese restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill. This place was a great find. All three of us ordered the MoMo Sizzlers, which came with noodles. The vegetables were fresh, noodles cooked perfect, and the monos were amazing. My friend also ordered the fried rice, which was really delicious as well. This small, unassuming restaurant was a fantastic find. We had vegetable samosas, vegetable momos (Nepalese dumplings) and a chicken curry with rice. Every dish was delicious. The samosas were spiced differently from the Indian ones I've had, which was a surprise. The chicken was stewed to perfection. The wait staff was sweet and delightful. We ordered the food on doordash, got it delivered late, and everything was still warm and delicious. I would have this weekly if I was closer to the area. Everything was absolutely delicious and even our picky eater friend was a fan. My top 2 dishes were the veggie dumplings and lamb sliders. If you get anything from here try the lamb sliders first! My friends also loved the chicken dishes. This food was definitely cooked with care and super flavorful. The portions were great and the prices were even better. I think anybody who likes any Asian food would really appreciate this place. I actually really loved this place - cozy atmosphere, great fast and friendly service and super tasty food with reasonable prices, especially on a cold rainy night. We got several plates of momos - the Szechuan, chili paneer, and plain steamed which were all really good but my favorite of the bunch was the Szechuan. They were really spicy so watch out, but I love me some spice! We also had the papdi chaat among a hard to choose list of South Asian street food - it was crispy, well seasoned, delicious and up to par. I can't comment on any of the plates with rice as we didn't get these, but I'm sure they were delicious too. My husband had a mango lassi which was just perfect - sometimes places get lassi wrong somehow with the level of tartness balanced with the sweetness, but this one took me back to my childhood and I would definitely get again. I went to Momo's based on Yelp reviews. I took a student from UNC. We ordered a range of dishes. I first tried the meatballs. Fortunately, I cut one in half before eating. It was raw. The student I was with was shocked because she would have just eaten it (and possible gotten quite ill). I took the dish back. I had minimal apology. Later we received a replaced with much smaller meatballs (maybe 1-3rd the size and yet the same number). The dumplings were good, but needed something to bring out the flavors. The chat was my favorite. We had five dishes and I honestly can't remember the other two. There is almost no service here and little ambiance. The food seems unique, but I can get all the flavors easily in Atlanta. Mixing them doesn't quite work - ends up a somewhat spicy, salty combination. Need to take care ordering (the person at the register was no help with this). I won't go back as my choice but would go if others wanted to go. Yummy food with a homey vibe! It was a self service kind of restaurant, you just sit down and scan the menu on the QR code and order on your phone. You can also order at the front table if you want. They have iced water at the front as well, and you also have to grab your own utensils from the front which was a little confusing at first. We got the pani puri, the chili momos (chicken and bison), steamed momos, and pan fried momos. They were all delicious, with the perfect flour to filling ratio. The chicken in my chili momos was so flavorful! The pani puri was also pretty good. I've never tried it before, but it had a really unique flavor with the chickpeas paired with the mint/onions. This restaurant is a walk in and order before sitting down type of restaurant, which I didn't realize at first. After reading some yelp reviews, we ordered the Himalayan Masala tea, which was good and lived up to the hype. We also got chili chicken momos and johl veggie momos, as well as home fries. I couldn't taste a huge difference between the chicken and veggie momos, especially since the veggie momos were drowned in the johl broth. Both of these momos were surprisingly spicy. I'm not the best with spice, so my stomach was not happy with me the next day haha. The momos were still super tasty though (the johl momos were better in my opinion, maybe because they were less spicy), and I was pretty full afterwards, especially since we also ordered fries. The fries were thick, had a good crunch to them, and came with bang sauce, which was really good. However, I will say their takeout system was confusing when I went. I ordered at the register for a momo to go and asked a waiter if it was done after around 20 minutes. The waiter checked the counter, said yes, and then went back into the kitchen. I thought they were grabbing something for my order, but instead they just went back to work without another word. I eventually had to ask another employee after another 5 minutes to finally get my to go order. Overall, Momo's Master is a decent restaurant that isn't like any other in the area. However, I'm not sure if I would return. If I were to come back, I would definitely ask to get less spice in whatever momos I order. The momos were very good. They held flavor from the sauces and condiments very well and were a very interesting take on traditional momos. I particularly liked the chili momo, it included an assortment of vegetables with it. The johl momos did not include anything else other than the sauce. The momos came with 2 sauces, mint chutney and johl momo sauce. The mint chutney in particular paired very well with both of the momos that I tried, I highly recommend you give it a try. The momo wings were good wings, seasoned well, but other then that nothing else to say about it. Also the chai was delicious, came in a relatively small cup for $3.99. In all, I really enjoyed the food, everything tasted great. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is that I feel like the price to portion ratio is not quite worth it (from a college student's point of view). $10 for 8 small to medium sized momos is a little steep for me, but everyone will have a different opinion on this. read more

I love when I find restaurants that feel like someone welcomed you into their home! I walked in and I was greeted immediately by the nicest young man. (The receipt says Gurkaran S.) he asked what I was having and I told hom this was my first visit. He immediately suggested I had to have the Dumplings. And showed me the section of the menu as well as explaining each dish he pointed to. I chose the Momo Sizzler with Bison Dumplings. In front of the cashier theres a fridge with Mango Lassi, one of my favorite drinks and It was FANTASTIC!!!
