Lime & Lemon is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Triangle. I love both Chapel Hill and Raleigh locations, but I personally think Chapel Hill location is stress free on the parking situation and has prettier interior design. If you are into cocktails or mocktails, they got you. I love trying their different drink and food options every time I visit. You cannot go wrong with any of the food you order, so don't be shy and try something new. Service is always superb - Everyone is so friendly and attentive. I would recommend anyone to take someone out on a date at this place!

This is a great spot, the food is really good. There's a huge menu that's filled with all kinds of Indian dishes including South Indian dishes. It's hard to find a place that makes great Dosa's but they do it perfectly here. The service is always good, the servers are helpful and on top of everything. The space is really quite large so if you are looking for a place that will take big groups this is a fantastic option. They have a full bar and the drinks are solid. Don't miss the chili paneer it's incredible! Highly recommend.

Walking in, I was immediately impressed by the look and feel of the restaurant. The bright yellow and lime green chairs are a whimsical nod to the name. We were absolutely blown away by the food. The samosa chaat was beyond delicious and the mango lime chicken was phenomenal. Our server Edwin was very helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back. This was a top notch experience and food!

It seems that many of Lime & Lemon's customers enjoyed Lime & Lemon's Mango Lime Chicken, so I ordered that at spicy level, and I was a bit disappointed. Let's start with the positives: The dish was delicious; spiced well with hints of sweetness. The small pieces of chicken were tender and the ratio of chicken to sauce was fine. It seems that this was the most recommended chicken curry dish by servers and previous customers, based on reviews, and I thought they were accurate when it comes to the taste and quality. However, for a close-to-$20 dish, the portion size is small. There's a good amount of rice, but I expected more at that price level. And the rice was not basmati?! It would be more acceptable if this dish came with complimentary naan but none! While generally, most Indian restaurants serve this amount per order, they cost about $3 to $6 less than the Mango Lime Chicken's price. Ambiance was trendy, better than many Indian restaurants we've been to; it seems Lime & Lemon is divided into 2 sections: Restaurant & Bar. Both have dining tables, but I was taken to a table farther from the bar, where all the customers on a Saturday lunch time were. I like how I was able to self-serve water so refilling wasn't a problem. While the customer service was not bad, it wasn't excellent as what many past reviewers said about Edwin (Was he here?). Order was served fast, but wish there was that extra touch of care and hospitality I experienced in other Indian restaurants. The waiter who served me simply did his job without asking if I needed anything else or if I enjoyed the food. Overall, my high expectations were shattered, but I wasn't totally disappointed. There are certainly more authentic Indian restaurants in the Triangle, but I wouldn't call Lime & Lemon "un-authentic". I'm not an expert when it comes to Indian spices but this restaurant proved they can deliver the spicy tastes most people want from an Indian curry dish. This place is also vegetarian-friendly, and there's a lot of good options here for vegetarians, so that's a plus for them. | Overall Score: 3.8/5

Lime and Lemon never disappoints! The ambiance is always so inviting--quiet, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing meal. The service is consistently attentive, which makes every visit enjoyable. We ordered the paneer biryani, chicken tikka masala, and plain naan, all at a medium spice level. The spice was perfectly balanced--not too overwhelming, just the right kick. The naan was soft and perfectly baked, and the chicken tikka masala was as good as always--creamy, flavorful, and satisfying. The paneer biryani was absolutely massive! It's a hearty dish with generous portions, so definitely perfect if you're in the mood for leftovers. All in all, a great experience and definitely one of my go-to spots for delicious Indian food.

A friend recommended that I go to Lime and Lemon to try their Mango Lime Chicken, and while I typically don't like too much sweetness in curry, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Upon returning a second time, I had their lunch special, and after the server kindly explained how their lunch sets worked, I was pleased with the value and the quality. Overall, I've had multiple great experiences here and would definitely consider returning to Lime and Lemon anytime I crave Indian food!

We had Lime & Lemon Catering to celebrate a friend's white coat ceremony from UNC Medical School and wow was it delicious. I live in an area in the Midwest with a relatively smaller South Asian population, so it is truly a treat to come to an area like this in NC where there are South Asian restaurants everywhere. I have heard that Lime & Lemon might be the best one around as well, and while I haven't tried them all - it was certainly the best I had. We ordered rice, gobi manchurian, samosas, garlic naan, butter paneer, and a mushroom curry. I had all but the mushroom curry as I am not the biggest fan of mushrooms and it was insane. My favorites were the gobi and the paneer. The gobi was so crispy and the coating was so tasty, truly one of my favorite dishes in general. The butter paneer was also fantastic - super flavorful and had a lot of depth. While I cannot comment on the service or ambiance as we had this for catering, I have been told by my local friends that both are amazing as well. Hope to visit the brick and mortar shop next time I visit!

Best Indian food I've ever had hands down! I don't say this lightly. There's a reason this place has so many positive reviews, it totally lives up to the hype! A friend and I came for dinner on Friday evening and made a reservation just in case. There were plenty of times available, but as we sat there we noticed it getting busier and busier so just to be safe I'd make a ressie. This is a popular shopping center in Chapel Hill. Parking - pretty easy, but since it can get crowded you might not get a spot right by LNL. Ambiance - the restaurant is absolutely beautiful! And super clean. The restrooms stood out to me, too, as particularly clean and private. There's a large dining room with a separate bar area. There are some "patio" tables but mainly just on the sidewalk. This would be the only area I'd suggest improvements, but physical limitations could be the issue. Service - amazing! Our waiter, Edwin, was wonderful. He gave great recommendations and was extremely attentive. Plus friendly and made our experience extra memorable. Food & drink - We each had an Old Fashioned and it was very tasty. At Edwin's recommendation, we both ordered the Mango Lime Chicken and a side of Garlic Naan. Divine! That slightly sweet, spicy, creamy, tangy sauce perfectly blankets the tender and juicy chicken. They marinate the chicken for 17 days we were told! The garlicky, buttery, pillowy naan complemented everything so well. Easily two meals. Prices - super affordable! Especially for the portion sizes. We polished off dinner with a (complimentary!) palate cleansing shot given by Edwin. It was really unique with almost a Christmassy flavor? Hard to explain so you just have to try for yourself! We will absolutely be back, and I hope to see you there!

I'm a full time road-tripping traveler who has criss-crossed the country a few times in the last few years, but this is my first time in the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area. My friend Martha treated me to lunch at the Lime and Lemon Grill and Bar, citing that it was her favorite Indian restaurant here in Chapel Hill. The experience did not disappoint. My favorite Indian dish is chicken tikka masala, so that's what I started to order, but our server encourage me to try the mango lime chicken. He promised that if I didn't love it, he would not charge me and would bring me my initial choice. (Well played Edwin, well played!) Martha also ordered the chicken tikka masala, but substituted paneer in place of the chicken. We also enjoyed cocktails - a Pink City for Martha and a Cochin Countryside for me. (My cocktail was ok, but it didn't knock my socks off.) We also ordered a side of garlic naan. Hands-down, it was the best garlic naan I've ever had in my entire life. I literally swooned at the table (embarrassing, but true). The mango lime chicken was so delicious that it almost caused me to have a mouth orgasm. (I'm not kidding!) The decor and ambience was equally great- the yellow makes the place pop without being overwhelming or obnoxious. Heck, I even loved the way the menus looked- very classy! Everything about this lunchtime experience was top-notch. My recommendation: Go there! Eat the food, drink the drinks, enjoy your life. And ask for Edwin T., he was a top notch server!

We were seated immediately and ordered drinks which were out promptly. Jaljeera, wine and the cocktail urban turban special. I loved my jaljeera, perfect sweet and tangy spicy flavour. For starters we ordered chicken chapli kabab, tandoori fish tikka and dahi ke kabab. Dahi kebab was the winner, it was crispy and soft and went perfectly well with its sweet gravy which was good twist to this simple appetizer. My second favorite was the chapli kabab, it was so soft and juicy and very light on spice. Their fish dishes were a little disappointing, I guess the fish and preparation both were not impressive. For main course we ordered their malabar fish curry which again was a disappointment, punjabi chicken curry which was pretty good, but the daal bukhara stole our hearts, very well prepared and flavourful dish. We couldn't stop ourselves from ordering some desserts, so we ordered their balu shahi with Rabri and gulab jamun with icecream. Rabri was great, but balushahi was big, seemed undercooked and bland. It's very difficult to mess up gulab jamun so that was good. The service was fast and the people were so friendly. We paid tip over the bill that already had gratuity included since we dint know, and the person came back with money and returned it saying the gratuity is included. We loved the honesty and warm gesture of the people working there. I am really looking forward to visiting this place again soon and trying their other dishes.

It's a casual restaurant but all the decor and the modern touches with Indian influence gives it a great sultry vibe. Food: top notch. Thus far is our favorite Indian restaurant out there. The naan itself is freshly made and SOFT, thick, and has a nice chew. Best naan in the triangle area. Highly recommend the bread basket as you get a good variety of their different naans. The paneer pakora is crispy, piping hot, and has a great cumin and lightly salted taste. In the middle is mint chutney so it's has nice layers of flavors. The lamb palak was super tasty as well! The spinach was nice clay cooked where it was creamy with no bitter after taste. The lamb was fall apart tender! The lamb jalfrezi was also a show stopper, it was spiced, slight tomato sauce, and lambs again, super tender that can be broken up with just fingers. The malai chicken was good, but wasn't our favorite. The meat is tender, but I felt like the flavor wasn't hitting as much as the other two. It was lighter and even with the lemon it still felt like it was missing something. Overall: will definitely be coming back!

The staff were very friendly and it's a nice place, so I hate to criticize, but I gotta be honest. Firstly, the drinks. Among our table, we ordered a Mai Tai, a Whiskey Sour, and a Tamarind Margarita. The Mai Tai was so sweet it basically tasted like syrup -- undrinkable. The other two drinks were also way too sweet and lacking any alcohol content whatsoever. They really need to find a different bartender. As far as food, I really feel like the chefs aren't familiar with what Indian food is supposed to taste like. The chana masala was lacking in flavor, salt, and the tanginess that it's supposed to have. The palak paneer was also bland, and the spinach is normally chopped finer or even blended. The malai kofta was too sweet, and the menu didn't mention that it had raisins in it ... had that been clear, I wouldn't have ordered it. We also ordered dessert ... tried to get the rasmalai, but were told they ran out. So we got the gulab jamun and the kheer. The gulab jamun was fine. The kheer was awful. It was super thin and watery, instead of thick and creamy.

The dosa was large, extra thin, quite salty, and satisfying. A chai was small and unsweetened.
