Oh boy... couldn't have had a better first Italian meal in Rome. Prosciutto and buratta was absolutely on point - pair it with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and you're good to go. Service is inline with warm Italian hospitality and our server was great. Felt like we were in a movie (I'm from the USA). We were seated outdoors with indoor foliage making it the perfect addition to our ambiance. Steak was something to be desired but the attempt and seasoning was superb. We went on recommendations to try their evening appertivo. Momart is probably one of the best aperitivo buffets in the area, offering a large variety of dishes (pasta, pizza, vegetables, desserts, etc.) and a driink for only €14. The food and drinks were tasty, though not exceptional. I'd return given it's value, except the service was honestly terrible. Despite our attempts to get attention, we were ignored while others were promptly served (this is for drinks, food is self-serve). My sister had to wave down a server to order her first drink. Later on, she was offered a second drink, but I was never asked if I wanted another. At the end, a server who I'd never seen came over to check us out. I think because he spoke English. When it was time to pay, he asked how much we wanted to pay. This was his way to ask for a tip, which is not typical in Italy, but since they profiled us as Americans immediately, i understand the attempt. My sister named the check amount and he processed it. After that, he said, "you know that that cost does not include a service charge?" She was taken aback and asked "oh, is there a service charge to eat here?" because sometimes there are service charges to eat at Italian cafes, but they are usually included in the bill. He laughed and said yes but walked away. This might be a tourist scam, as other reviews noted similar experiences, and the business stated tips are not mandatory. For locals, it's a great deal to enjoy a few drinks (around €8.50 each) and hang out with friends. While we were there it did appear to be the norm to camp out for a while. read more

We came on a weekend night and it was busy with people out drinking and dining but it did not take long at all to get seated. You can get the buffet or you can order from the menu but we decided to do the buffet to try it. It's decent but nothing crazy definitely budget friendly about $14 a person but again they have a menu you can order from with more options. Their aperitivos are the best! You can order any drink from their drink menu for 11€ and it comes with a buffet dinner in the price. The buffet is quite extensive with various pastas, veggies, and savory pastries plus a dessert. It is by far enough for a full meal. It's light on the meat but there is plenty to fill up on. And with such a large drink menu you'll be sure to find something you like. This is definitely not a touristy spot, it's filled with locals only. Beware of the long wait times too - it's extremely popular! We waited about a half hour for a party of 2 at 8pm but it was so worth it. This place was recommended to us by a friend for their great aperitivo and we decided to give it a try. This place offers an aperitivo formula for 10 Euros, which is basically one drink (cocktail, wine, etc...) and an all you can eat buffet. The buffet is composed of pizzas, small bites and a few dessert options. The pizzas were good and pretty varied which allowed not to get bored too quickly. Even though this place is pretty large with two floors, it gets extremely packed from 7pm so you might have to wait a pretty long time to get a table. The restaurant does not offer parking so I would recommend taking a cab to get there. To conclude, very good place and very good value/price ratio for their aperitivo which seems to be one of the very best in Rome. My wife HATES buffets. That said, she LOVES this place! For only $10 Euros (about $12.50 US currency)-- you get a wide assortment of freshly prepared salads, vegetables, hot dishes, and desserts. Not only that, but you get mineral water & coffee (cappuchinos, espressos, etc) included. But wait, there's more: every table gets a huge basket with delicious homemade flatbread (similar to Naan, the indian bread). In the tourist areas, you would expect to pay at least $20 Euros per person for such a feast....but since this establishment is located in the Nomentana District, only the Locals dine here. During our lunch here, we were the ONLY couple that spoke English. But don't worry if you can't speak Italiano --- several of the waiters (including our server, Mahmoud) speak perfect English and can come to your aid. Mahmoud is a funny guy: when he offered us coffee, I asked °Is it included with our meal?" He answered, "I am included too....do you want to take me?" When we asked "Do you take Visa card here?" His answer: "Sure, I take your Visa, I always wanted to go to America....hahaha" Even though the locals don't leave gratuities (its not customary here) -- I insisted on leaving $2.50 E. for our wannabe stand-up comedian-slash-waiter. Momart cafe is highly recommended for anyone who wants to "dine where the Locals go." Be advised that it is very crowded at Dinner time. Expect to wait for a table. Really cool concept! If you go for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, you get a one drink and an all you can eat buffet for about €20 , which I think is a really nice deal regarding their buffet is pretty large. They have freshly baked pizzas different kinds of pasta, salads, fruits, pastries and even desserts. For a drink I had the aperol spritz which is a classic and was very nice and refreshing. The only detail, hence the four stars, is the service. Our waitress could well have forgotten about us, we had to call her several times to get drinks refilled or our check, but it is balanced by the nice atmosphere and good food! read more

Nice open buffet with a drink (starting from 6 pm) for 10.5€ but watch out because any other extra drink cost 10€/each, and they didn't mention it to us before seating us and they usually don't. This is my favorite restaurant in all of Rome. Momart has excellent food, a varied menu, reasonable prices, lively and trendy clientele, beautiful ambiance and decor, charming staff, and fine art, too! My family and I lived nearby and would frequent Momart about once each month for dinner. We'd always bring our visitors here, too. Our favorite waiter was Massimo, who spoke excellent english but also treated us like true Italians. The first time we ate at Momart we arrived early and left early like the typical Americano. However, after a few months we finally got the hang of it and begun living the Italian lifestyle, showing up after 8pm, whisking by the crowd with the always beautiful hostess thanks to our advanced reservations, then enjoying a leisurely dinner with vino, appetizers, primi and secondi, dessert, aperitivo, and caffe. It's more Hollywood production than mere dinner. We usually either sat downstairs (where there's a constant stream of attractive people going up and down the stairs) or outside on the terraces. Massimo always treated us as if we were millionaires. I wish all waiters did that! Even after my wife accidentally set the table on fire, they welcomed us back time and time again (but might have kept our candles unlit, lol). It's a tad bit away from the city center, so take a taxi. Also, make sure you make dinner reservations in advance as this place gets crowded every night. Also, dress up please, don't show up with t-shirts, shorts, and tennis shoes unless your 12 and under. You are in Italy, try to dress Italian. Besides, it's fun! read more

Do not go for the buffet. My husband and I went and sat outside and ordered from the actual menu and it was absolutely divine! We did not have a single meal that was bad there. As a matter fact it ended up being our favorite restaurant of our whole trip in Italy. We went back multiple times. Yes, there is cigarette smoke if you sit outside, but this is Europe, specifically Rome and everyone smokes. I have a smoke allergy and even I could handle it, so it's not that bad. The buffalo mozzarella is the freshest that we had. The steak is amazing. The seafood pasta was incredible. And you cannot go wrong with any of their pizzas or any of their drinks. The momart cafe is on the same block that we stayed on and has great reviews on Yelp so we figured we couldn't go wrong. People started showing up to be seated shortly before it reopens at 730 and it's not long before a crowd of eager diners had formed. My traveling partner and I weren't sure what to expect other than a buffet. It wasn't anything like a buffet in America. Momart Café served a mix of finger foods, pasta, and pizza mostly served cold. Getting food to your plate can be a little bit of a challenge because of the crowd. You really have to go for what you want and push through everyone else. The food tasted alright but there wasn't anything my traveling partner or I got excited about. The only item I think I recognized was a bite sized version of pigs in a blanket. The atmosphere almost made up for the lackluster quality of the food. Everyone seated around us was happy, laughing and enjoying each other's company. We sat outside but the plants lining the area for privacy, along with the lighting made it feel like we were indoors. I ordered a Melon Sex on the Beach with my meal. I liked it but it wasn't particularly mememorable. Overall the best part of our experience at the Momart Cafe was people watching. Getting to see everyone boucing around, talking, smoking and enjoying a peaceful evening was the highlight of our meal. read more

I like this place very much. Ok, parking isn't easy (usual in Rome) but the place is nice, also for a big group of people. Cheap, 10€ for a single drink and unlimited food, including pizza. There is a big outdoor space, not comfortable when is windy, and a indoor space divided in 2 floors. I prefer the first one but it's ok also the indoor. The usual client we call it "pariolino/pariolina", that is a men/women dressed like a wealthy person (and I like the style). The closer metro station is Bologna, B line, probably 1km on foot. My friend lives in Rome and dines here regularly. Which should tell you something about this place. We went early (for Roma standards a least) for dinner. Thankfully at 6pm you can pretty much walk in to get a table. The €10 first drink charge covers a buffet which includes pizzas (made on the premises, you can even watch them make them), various pastas and several different types of salads (we had both a garden salad and a green beans with tuna and olives salad). There are of course a few other things at the table ( the deep fried eggplant slices is a standout) and between finishing one plate and going back for a second they had changed over some of the dishes. The second trip included slices of tomato and mozzarella (yum) and a few other things. My only hesitation would be that the drinks are kinda strong. They definitely don't skip here! But that's more my taste than anything else. We left before dessert came out so I can't comment on that. The place had pretty much filled up by 7-7.30pm so bear that in mind if you are in this part of Rome. Also the second drink is €6 so...
