I recently ordered 9 yards of mulch from Molzon landscaping in Lincroft. I live in Holmdel minutes away, delivery was $60.00. I requested, if possible, to split the 9 yards as I have a circular driveway and would be easier for my worker. As I attempted to leave my home for a scheduled doctor appointment, to my surprise, I found both entrances totally blocked with mulch! I immediately called the office and explained the situation. The owner, Jerry, clearly stated there was nothing he could do about it. I voiced my concern about not being able to exit my home in the event of an emergency. I suggested perhaps the driver whom was only 10 minutes away could come back and make a path. I was so taken with his "I don't care" attitude especially being an owner. What is more disappointing was his lack of respect. His nasty tone thinking he is superior to everyone else. I wonder if he is this disrespectful to his workers. Always great mulch and soil to be found at Molzons. I go there for all my organic soil and compost/mulch needs. Very affordable, very kind staff, and they're always willing to help you decide on a plant or educate you if you're unsure about it's needs or if it's a good fit for your garden. Try their honey, it's local and delicious! Don't forget their eggs either, the cardboard boxes they use for their eggs save the planet earth by sparring it one plastic egg carton at a time! Fantastic experience here today! Great selection for indoor and outdoor, really friendly and helpful guidance from the woman working*, and they had exactly what I was looking for. Per below, Molzon's thought it was a good idea to dump 7 yards of mulch onto the county/40mph road in front of my house. When confronted with the problem, the owner of Molzon's tried to put the blame on us by saying we said to put it there, and then he and two other workers told us on three separate occasions that they would come over to help move the mulch, but they never showed nor did they ever contact us with any kind of explanation as to why they did not show. My wife wife had asked them to dump the mulch on the garden bed to the left of our very large driveway. I know she would not have mistaken where to put the mulch, because this is the exact spot where we had mulch delivered by other companies for the past 3 years. She even made a large note in chalk on our driveway, with an arrow pointing to where to dump the mulch. In addition, other companies often have to draw a sketch to where to dump mulch, Molzon's did not. When the mulch was delivered, we did not notice it, there was no call or advanced warning. What first drew my attention to the mulch was that cars were veering all over the major road in front of my house and I wanted to see why. I was pretty shocked to see the mulch where it was, and we immediately called Molzon's to see why they placed it there. We got a hold of Paul, the owner, and explained how the mulch was delivered in the wrong spot, sent the attached picture, and how of course mulch in the middle of a 40mph highway during rush hour posed a potential major hazard. Instead of the needed sense of urgency, Paul's answer was that that we would have to wait until the delivery driver came back so he could talk to him about what happened. (Why not just call the delivery driver??) At about 9am, we called again, and a nice woman answered the phone. She apologized, and said that they were organizing employees to come over my house to move the mulch. She did not have a set time, but understood the urgency of the situation, and that she would call back. She was the only one that ever apologized for the situation. My wife and I then decided to risk our own lives for the betterment of others, and started to move the mulch ourselves, while we waited for the Molzon's employees. This was an interesting process, as we had to dodge cars to even shovel a little mulch, and "enjoyed" the glares and beeps of the cars that passed by, which we knew translated to "why would you put mulch here, you're going to get someone killed!" While we were doing this, Paul emailed my wife. Instead of explaining his position or offering an apology, or even calling, his email simply stated "instruction on delivery slip," and he sent a photo of the slip which said in handwriting "looking at house left side of house on street." This was not written by my wife, rather the cashier who took my wife's order. Upon receiving the email, my wife and I discussed this amongst each other. We could maybe understand that the cashier may have misheard her and wrote the wrong thing down. What we cannot understand is why the driver knowing that the road was a major road would decide to dump mulch in the middle of the road. To be fair, it looked like the driver tried to dump most of the mulch on the shoulder of the major road, which in and of itself is a bad idea. However, what I can't understand is the driver must have noticed that a lot of the mulch ended up in the middle of one of the lanes of the highway as per the below picture. And why the driver decided to leave the mulch in the middle of the road is beyond me. Keep in mind this pile was also about 5 feet high. Paul later emailed my wife to tell her that he would send people to my house to move the mulch as soon as possible. After waiting more stone, I decided to personally go to Molzon's to talk to Paul. When I got there, one of the workers went to go talk to Paul to tell him I was there. I could see the worker talking to Paul, and Paul's body language led me to believe that he did not want to to talk to me. Sure enough he sent someone else to come talk to me. This person immediately told me "did you see what your your wife said about where to put the mulch?" He then said "oh no it's not here or there." My response was no, we need to talk about this, even if my wife did say to to put the mulch in the middle of the road which she did not, why would the driver think it was a good idea to leave mulch in the middle of a major highway. The workers response was "you would be surprised by where people tell us to put mulch." He then said that they would send workers to come help us. Taking him at his word, I left. However, no one showed up to help us. I would've maybe even been happy with a call from Paul or any other worker that day telling me "oh we're sorry I know We said we were going to come, but we just can't make it." Instead, there was no word at all, not a single person showed, not a single call, not even a simple email. read more

Extremely disappointed with the employee I was exposed to today. I wanted to pop in to take a quick look around to help me plan my organic garden and pick up an Easter plant. The sign outside said OPEN! and the hours on another sign said 9-4. It was 2:30, great! An older man came out to "greet me" and scowled at me when I said I was just looking. The place was completely empty. After 10 mins of browsing and carrying an armful of plants, seed packs, and potting soil, I stopped to pick a nice flower for my mother-in-law and a planter that suited it. I was there maybe 20 minutes total. The sign outside said open till 4 and both employees who saw me walk in did not mention they were closing early. After tryout out the 3rd pot, the "greeter" called out, "You know, we are closing." (It was a few minutes before 3). I apologized and said I thought the sign said 4. I asked if he would rather me come back another day, even though I was almost done. He responded, "It's a holiday." A simple, "Welcome to Molzons, for your planning, we close at 3 today." or maybe a "Not to rush you, but we are planning to close early" would have been an appropriate greeting or response as I was testing flower pots. Instead, this man greeted me with a scowl and all but yelled at me for taking too long shopping. Was I to blame that he was working on his holiday? Did they open today but didn't want people to browse and shop? What scares me is that this man could possibly be the owner. From the wonderful things I had heard prior to this, I planned on buying all of our flowers and organic plants from this location. Someone who can't speak to the public surely isn't the person I want to build a relationship with working on a hobby I love. After being treated poorly I put down all of the items I planned to buy and walked out so this man could close up. Sorry MIL, I tried to buy a nice plant for you today. read more

I don't often leave poor reviews but this place burned my buns. I will say the nursery itself has some wonderful plants and shrubs and a good selection of them too. My rub with them is customer service. I called them looking for a very specific shrub, i was told that didn't carry them but they had the ability to order them and would probably have them in stock in about 2 weeks. I was told they would give me a call when they came in, no call. I reached out to them after 3 weeks and they apologized, they forgot all about my order and would be in touch in the next few days, no call . I called the gentleman i was speaking to several times with promises of a call back, no call. I got to the point that i went there to try and get a straight answer and was told no one there could help me and to leave a message for the gentleman i had been speaking to, no call back. Now I've wasted So much time that the optimal planting window for my shrubbery has passed. Now I'll have to hope to find what i need elsewhere in the fall. read more

I hired Molzon's for an extensive landscaping project. Jerry was a great listener and came up with a design that was just what we envisioned. The project was finished well on time despite horrible weather. His work crew was great, very attentive to detail and treated the job like it was for their own home. After reading reviews about their great customer service, we decided to check out Molzon for our gardening and lawn needs. From the minute we walked in we were greeted and helped by 3 employees who showed lots of patience. They were very helpful, accommodating, and answered the millions of questions we had. They also had a great selection of "organic" products. They were able to deliver a truck load of soil and compost within an hour after our visit. We are new in the field of gardening so we had tons of Questions. We left with all of them answered. I will be using them for all my gardening needs in the future. read more
