Both were absolutely delicious, and the crust was cooked to perfection. Totally recommend. For the main course, the some of the table really enjoyed their meals, with the Funghi Pasta getting enthusiastic rave reviews along with the risotto that came with the Osso bucco. Unfortunately, my entree fell a bit short. I ordered the salmon, asking for it to be cooked medium, but it arrived thoroughly cooked all the way through. Also, because I was distracted by conversation while ordering, I didn't notice that the salmon doesn't come with a side dish like the other entrees on the menu. I really wish our waitress had flagged that for me so I could have ordered a side to complete the meal. Otherwise the service was fantastic. We finished with dessert, which was decent. The tiramisu uniquely came with a glaze sauce to pour over the top--an interesting presentation, but honestly not needed, as traditional tiramisu stands well enough on its own. Overall, great pizza and pasta, but a bit of a miss on the seafood and osso bucco.

The…read morerestaurant has a very welcoming and modern decor and the menu consists of amazing comfort fusion dishes with Indian and western flavors which light your tastebuds on fire. For our drinks we orders 'Have a Cigar' and a low sugar mocktail they created for me. Both were made very well and were super refreshing. For our mains, we ordered, 'Black Cardamon Burnt ends', 'Tandoori Chicken' and 'Smash burger with peri peri fries' and for desert we ordered the parle g mango ice-cream' sandwich with some aromatic chai. My most favorite dish out of all were the burnt ends - they had a superb fusion flavor of Indian spices which went well with the meat and paired well with the grits. Trust me when i say this that i would eat this everyday for the rest of my life if i could. The smash burger and peri peri fries were excellent and definitely hit the spot. The real disappointed was with Tandoori chicken. I felt the chicken did not pair well with the sambar risotto and the fried okra even though it tasted good, was an after thought. The rice in the risotto was very grainy and undercooked. I told that to our server and they instantly apologized and acknowledged the issue and also proceeded to remove the dish from our bill. After that the chai was very warm and comforting and the parle g ice-cream biscuits were nostalgic and a great way to finish the meal. While not every dish was perfect, i love the excellent customer service they provided and the way the owner/manager/staff handled our feedback. I will be back to try more food here - 5/5.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here a few weeks ago, and had a great experience!…read more We made a reservation for a Friday evening during primetime. We were seated on time at a table next to the bar-side of the dining room. Speaking of the dining room, it's a nice, if standard size for a strip-mall space, but I really appreciated that the tables were not stacked on top of each other, as seems to be the case at more and more places these days. It felt like there might be some chance of our entire conversation not being completely overheard by our neighbors, which was nice for a change! Our waitress was fantastic! She walked us through the menu, the restaurant's approach to cooking and seasonality, some of her faves, and made wonderful recommendations! We decided to split a few small plates, which was a great approach! We got to try about 1/3 of the small plate menu, and loved it all! It was all great, but the Black Cardamom Burnt Ends are NOT to be missed! It made my cardamom-loving, Midwest soul very, very happy indeed! The space is a really nice size - not massive or overwhelming - and with the shades drawn down (to seal out the late afternoon sun, thank goodness!) and dim lighting, the mood vibes were solid for a romantic anniversary dinner! The other ambiance item of note is that the restroom corridor smelled absolutely fantastic! Upon investigation, it was due to a burning candle from a lovely local-KC company that was custom made for the restaurant! Yes, they're for sale, and yes, we picked up two! While everything was lovely and the food was very good, you're definitely paying a high price for it. Not that it's not deserved, but the "value" feels aren't necessarily "off the charts", by any means. And that is really my only critique, if there is any at all! The space is smallish but they do have bar seating in addition to seating throughout. The service was friendly and the drinks were great. They don't offer food, but they do offer cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails. I went on a Sunday and they have a special menu called "Almost Monday." It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. My favorite between the two was the Negroni. It had a pretty color and wasn't too sour or strong. I'd def recommend it and get it again. Definitely stop in and check out this cute spot in Shawnee.

When you arrive there is parallel parking available outside the bar. When you walk in you'll feel like your bright, vibrant, and feels incredibly welcoming. Also, they have some really fun drinks as well that have been thoughtfully put together. We ended up sitting at the bar and I started with the Reformed Porn Star (vanilla vodka, bronson's tropical milk punch, passion fruit, Prosecco, citric acid and popping boba) which was by far my favorite drink and felt like I could have drank a couple more of these. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us. Between the creative cocktails, fun atmosphere, unique floral setting, this was a memorable experience I'd definitely return for.

My colleagues and I went to Tannin on a random Sunday based off a recommendation from another business owner. He said that they had a killer wine list and great apps. And he was right! What we didn't know was that we picked the best day to go for a group of 6 people. Sunday's buy a bottle get one free really suited our group. We ended up ordering two bottles of white and two bottles of red ($40-50 price range) and shared those between the six of us. We were also allowed to cork-and-carry any wine that we didn't finish. We ordered and shared the following appetizers: cheese & charcuterie, roasted red pepper hummus, crispy shrimp, pommes frites, and chicken shawarma. All of it was great - especially the chicken shawarma. Why this review isn't 5 stars: We were there to ask questions about different wine profiles and really learn about what we were drinking. This task seemed out of the comfort zone of our server, which we thought to be odd. However, there was another gentleman there (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) that really helped us out and steered us in the right direction all night. His recommendations did not disappoint. The other reason is that the rest of the menu is at a high pricepoint. We only ordered appetizers because of this. Overall - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
