The ads featured beautifully curated food and drinks, but what we got was microwaved meals from a bag and terrible drinks. It felt more like a lazy cash grab than a themed experience. I paid for a quality night out and ended up with something that looked (and tasted) like it came from a gas station microwave. This was completely false advertising and not worth the ticket price. Save your money -- I won't be attending anything from this group again.

It's got white walls and a small stage area (maybe changeable?). One redeeming factor is that it is pretty big. Obviously the location is prime as well. When I was there, the credit card machines were down. I don't know if this was an issue with the event space or a vendor, but it made things difficult because there wasn't an ATM close by. I would probably go elsewhere to hold a larger event.

If I weren't leaving KC, I'd be on the line with them right now about setting something up for the near future. If you like spaces that wonderfully retain the spirit of KC's jazz age past, this is the venue for you. I can see anything from a really fabulous fashion show to a retro big band party to glamorous wedding taking place here. The only potential thing to note is that sound would need to be checked if you want to have live music. I have a strong feeling live jazz would be most appropriate here... rock & roll, not so much (duh). And that's totally fine by me, seeing as sometimes I pretend I'm existing in 1928 anyway.

She made it so easy to fall in love with the venue! So many great indoor and outdoor picture opportunities along with lots of spaces to get ready! I would say the venue only comfortably holds about 100 guests though! You can book for up to 175 but it would be pretty tight! We did have one issue with a wedding card being opened and then returned to a new spot (most likely because it was a check and not cash) by someone working at the venue - but this was most likely not the 8th and main staff! This room is on the smaller side. You could have a small ceremony or a few round tables in it. Then there are 2 small hallways on either side of the vault room that lead to the back room which is bigger. The hallways are kind of annoying. They have the men's restroom in 1 hallway and then on the other side, is the women's. It was annoying because it wasn't well marked and it was easy to forget which side was which. The back patio is nice. It's a decently sized patio. It has fake put-put golf grass. I can't decide how I feel about that. Overall I wasn't overly impressed with the space. I believe the bride said it was $4k to rent it on a Saturday, but you could choose your own vendors. Since the location is in tiny little Grandview and not KC, I think that seems a tad steep.

She even offered her floral services after hearing of our lack of motivation with doing more research on top of whats already a time consuming event. Our night was flawless and better than we imagined. By the end of the night I thought of Jenna as more of a friend and less of a venue coordinator. I was sad to say goodbye to her and the venue!

I looked at another one of their locations but truly fell in love with the intimate feel at Brookside. The only downside is the have an agreement to contract a specific company to DJ and bartend your event. Otherwise his location is perfect for a wedding or reception for 100 or less people! I am so pleased with the service level from Heritage Event Spaces! Update after the wedding...... If I were only rating Brookside Gardens they would get a 5 star rating!!! The owners are a awesome but they require you to use specific vendors such as Platinum KC which is a DJ service. I was not impressed by them at all and the songs I requested were not played, it put a damper on my reception and people complained all night about the poor selection being played. I was very disappointed by this but I had no other option because I was required to use Platinum because Brookside has a contract with this specific company.

I officiated a wedding here and the parking garage that you're supposed to use across the street is only two stories as it is and for this event you could only use the lower level due to repairs. there's no street parking , was very difficult for a lot of people to figure out where to park when neighboring businesses have "do not park here" signs. It's kind of an all-inclusive place for parties and receptions they supply the tables and chairs and then you just can set it up how you want but they have got to be the worst folding plastic chairs I have ever seen or used in my life and I go to a lot of weddings.
