After reading a few of the reviews, and knowing the area the Guild Event Venue is located in....attending lots of First Fridays and music shows around the location, I knew that parking would be an issue. I don't street park. I tackle this in lot's of reviews about Kansas City. I walked inside, after parking at Grinders. It doesn't bother me to walk alone at dusk. I entered the venue and immediately loved the high ceiling and the architecture. There's a couple of rooms and a spiral staircase to another level. It was closed off to the Jacobson people, and other food vendors last night, though. The walls expose bricks, wood. The ceiling is gorgeous with a beautiful chandelier. It's different levels at times. Truly beautiful architecture. The bathrooms have an actual door, on each stall, with locks that worked. The sinks are oversized with good lighting. The womens restroom was kind of hard to find, but this is always, isn't it? The venue has a large outside area, and I mean large. It would be excellent for a wedding reception. I loved the space outside. I do wish there was a bit more lighting, and not so dark. Walking back to my car, we pretty much walked together, this was a Yelp event. Every one leaves around the same time. I loved the venue and would totally recommend it to others.

I wish that I could tell everyone wanting to get married in Kansas City that there is really only one logical answer when then ask "But where??" The staff at the guild, and the beautiful venue made all of our wedding dreams come true. It was seamless and easy working with Neile Smith to get all of the details squared away. She was prompt and flexible. We were able to set up all of the decor and tables the day before the wedding which made our actual wedding day so relaxing. We bought a liquor package and only had to pay for guests that would actually drink (we have a lot of people in our family who don't drink!). Every vendor we chose for our wedding couldn't have been more elated when they found out we chose the guild as our venue, the best Kansas City venders know what's best! The venue speaks for itself in its beauty. We will cherish our wedding pictures forever for many reason but one of those being the beautiful setting we had our first look in and reception. We would pick the guild over and over again for our wedding.

The crossroads are up and coming, and Kansas City's artistic community should be proud to have such an edgy mix of originality and vintage inspiration.

I'm Erin J's husband, and my review is going to look pretty much the same as hers. haha! The space…read morewas PERFECT for our wedding. During the wedding, a couple friends came up to us and asked, disbelieving, "Where did you FIND this place!? It looks like you BUILT it especially for your wedding. It's just perfect!!" We felt the same way. It was exactly what we were looking for. The space is used as a photography studio during the day, and is used as an event space on weekends and evenings (I believe). It cost us about $3000 + extra fees (security, wait staff, etc), but was definitely worth it. We looked at several loft spaces in the area, and this was head-and-shoulders above the rest. The space is on the second floor of the building, which once served as a Buick dealership during the early 20th century. Remarkably, the space includes a great many original details, such as the car-sized elevator that used to bring cars up to the second floor showroom (VERY useful for bringing a/v gear, musical instruments, etc up to the space), while also feeling very hip and modern. The floors have been beautifully restored, and the colors of the space are very warm and inviting. Whoever restored the space did a fabulous job. We had both our wedding and reception at the space, and our 150 guests were accommodated quite nicely. I would strongly caution against many more than 150, however, or some of your guests won't have a place to sit. The wedding reception was held on one half of the loft, after which a curtain was drawn, and the space was reconfigured by the staff to function as a reception area, complete with tables, a DJ setup, etc. The changeover process took only 15 minutes, and we were able to entertain guests with some live jazz during the interim. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and Sandy, the event manager, is a dream to work with. Combine this space with flowers from Craig Sole Designs and catering by Chef Nancy Stark, and you're in for a wedding to remember. Everyone told us that our wedding blew them away, and I firmly believe that Berg Event Space was a huge part of our wedding's success.

The manager was such a great help and willing to humor all of my requests. I just loved that it was an out of the way venue, but still in the downtown area! So unique - definitely a gem!
