Looking for an adventure you will never forget? Molokini is the #1 snorkeling trip on Maui. Hawaiian green sea turtles, tropical fish of every make & size, rock formations, and the waters are the clearest I've ever seen. You can swim, snorkel, snuba, or scuba dive. A boat ride out to the Molokini Crater off the south side of Maui will leave you with AAA+++ memories for life !!

Molokini Crater is not only home for Maui residents but also for visitors from all over the places looking for the best snorkeling clarity, where is good for scuba, snuba, snorkel and whale watch in season. Inside of the crater is peaceful, and outside of the crater is heavily waved.

The boat ride to Molokini Crater was absolutely perfect, the ocean looked like glass and the sun was shining bright. We arrived to Molokini Crater and when we were ready with our snorkel mask and fins we plopped into the water. The coral reefs weren't as bright and vibrant as I had a imagined. The coral reefs were white and bleached. We saw a variety of colorful fish and enjoyed the experience, though it served as a vivid reminder that climate change is harming beautiful coral reefs.

Came here to go snorkeling with some friends. The crater was beautiful. The water was so clear and there were tons of fish. Highly recommended sight to see.

Went to Molokini Crater through Four Winds II Maui and it's definitely an awesome sight and great place to snorkel and see some of the great sea life, tropical fish and coral reefs underwater! Because this is a protected sanctuary, you cannot physically go onto the island itself, but you'll definitely be amazed to see it up close! The weather conditions and ocean currents can get rough at times, so again, I would recommend coming with a tour company and group!

Pride of Maui tours, crew were so friendly to my wife and I! They also provided great food!

Took a charter to Molokini Crater, saw some whales jumping and did snorkeling by the crater #amazing

I booked a tour with a boat that takes you from the Maalaea harbor to molokini crater. It was a great afternoon. We saw tons of humpback whales jumping all around us and when we arrived to the crater, there was only one other tourist boat. I snorkeled around and the water is amazingly blue. The boat had a glass bottom and I managed to have the staff take a picture of me diving down so that's how I got my great blue water shot;) no filter:) Tons of fish and great experience. I was lucky I did it in January when the humpback whales are around.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I thought there would be more fish and more coral to see. We were grateful we tagged along with friends who chose Four Winds to take us out there - I'll do a separate review for them, but they were great all around.

From our resort, we were able to see the Molokini Crater and so I thought it'd be a great idea to snorkel here. We booked our snorkel tour at 6am to beat the crowd and I liked it a lot more. There were two stops, the second stop was Turtle Town where we got to swim with the turtles, it was a great time and probably the highlight of our trip. However, snorkeling here is a little rough, the current was high and I felt like I was going to drown at times since the current just kept throwing me around. I had to wear the banana around my waist, and others did too, which didn't help much. So the boat threw a bunch of boogie boards for us to hold on to since the current was so high. The water got pretty cold at Turtle Town and I was shivering and my lips were purple. Nonetheless, I had a great experience there and it lost a star due to the current and the temperature of the water. It's not every day you get to say you snorkel around a crater.

I'm torn on this one. I love the idea of swimming with the fishes (ok bad mobster impression) in a crater, but where were they? I have come here for years and this time the crater was rather vacant. Having said that though, the trip was so much fun, the crew was amazing and we watched Humpback whales to and from the crater. That was worth the boat ride alone. Swimming in the glorious water is another positive point. Have to take into consideration that this is real nature at it's best and not a circus act, so each visit is totally different.

The highlight of my trip! I took the morning sail and snorkel trip with Trilogy (I wish I could give them 100 stars). I was so excited to be able to go to Molokini, as I had seen it so many times in photos and on TV. I used to Scuba dive and that is available with Trilogy. We snorkeled. We went on the early sailing because winds can pick up later in the day. As we approached Molokini by boat we could see the green of the island. We anchored inside the protected area. Our snorkeling at Molokini was very nice, the best part was that the current was minimal due to the protection of the island. The people who scuba dove saw a shark. I loved seeing the crater as we sailed away. It's such an interesting small ecosystem. When we go back at Christmas/New Year, I will definitely be heading back to Molokini crater!

The staff is so nice, friendly, and genuinely excited to be there - and we loved that there were so many staff on the boat, it really helps the whole experience feel polished and safe. Captain Ben was great and found us several pods of whales to see on our ride back! Beth was so wonderful - constantly checking if anyone needed snacks or drinks, had trash to toss, needed a warm rinse after getting back up on the boat! It was cool seeing Beth free diving around us too! We dove in Brian's group and he was AWESOME, pointing out tons of unique sea life! I like his flippers with his name on them in bright orange! This charter is basically like "full service diving" - it's amazing. They set up your gear AND switch them over to the new tank between dives, have tons of snacks, drinks, and sandwiches, and are just wonderful folks. We loved that the boat had an upper deck too! After reading many rave reviews for Maui Dreams, I enrolled in the Rescue Diver class through their…read moreshop. I scheduled the class a few months in advance, and they even advertised it to recruit another student (after all, you can't rescue yourself!). I learned from the best--Kerri is a true expert in both diving and instruction. He is incredibly patient and explains concepts clearly. He took the time to answer all of our questions and really instilled the importance of dive safety--that anything can happen at any time, and you always need to stay aware, especially in and around the water. We practiced multiple real-life rescue scenarios in the water, which made the training feel practical and incredibly valuable. I learned so many important skills from Kerri--both ones I hope I never have to use and others that I will carry with me on every dive going forward. I look forward to diving with Kerri and the Maui Dreams crew the next time I'm on Maui!

I was a long time customer of this shop who spent thousands of dollars over the years. I had a good…read morerapport with the staff and owners, until I made a social media post mildly critical of a different dive operation. After that, the owner was very cold and curt with me for a couple of months and I finally asked why. I got yelled at for 15 minutes over that social media post and during that time I was insulted, had my ethics questioned, and was threatened with a ban from the shop once my tank rental card was used up. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life, to get excoriated by the shop's owner over a post I made about a different dive operation. I will no longer give this shop my business. The owner will likely respond that this was not a customer service experience with their services, like rentals, retail, etc., however a few months ago, I tried to get my divemaster certification renewed prior to the above event, and they could not even get it together to give me a price or a possible schedule with the owner referring me to the instructor and the instructor referring me to the owner. Rinse. Repeat. It was the most frustrating and unprofessional PADI training experience I ever had. And when I did my MFA/CPR certification with them, the CPR dummies did not have batteries (or they had exploded from disuse) so they were totally unprepared on the day of the course. And during the course I had the displeasure of watching the instructor mumble through the cheat sheet on his phone, covering unnecessarily what I had already gone over in the eLearning, and they very inappropriately shared with me a personal medical emergency example that involved an emergency heart issue arising from solo use of viagra. So very unprofessional. Granted that instructor no longer works at this shop, having quit or been fired shortly after that MFA/CPR course. I finally got my divemaster cert renewed with an independent instructor without any hassle. Why was it so easy for them and so hard for the shop? Also note, that after I got my divemaster cert renewed the owner reached out to me to see if I was interested in a job and seemed very enthusiastic about the prospect of me working for them. We met and I declined to work for them as I still had full time work. So any aspersions the owner may cast on my character after this review should be viewed with that in mind.
