It is safer because Wailea security patrols it a lot. It's a great starting point for a walk on the coastal beach path. It has a rest room, showers and picnic tables. It's located at the Fairmont Kea Lani. And, there is shade at the south end, in case you've gotten enough sun.

There were plenty of spaces when we arrived on a Monday in February around noon. It had rained earlier but we found a table that was dry to eat our lunch. The restroom had toilet paper. We didn't go down onto the beach. Instead we headed north on the beach walk to Wailea Beach. Along the way there were signs about some of the plants. We also passed some magnificent condos which must have had spectacular views. We ended up only walking less that half of the beach walk because the sun came out and we forgot our sun block. If we ever return to Maui, I'd like to do the rest of the beach walk.

I've…read morepassed this beach numerous times in my life, but have never actually stopped by here, but I was down for whatever since I'm not too familiar with all the West Side spots. So, my review is from a bit of a different perspective. Located on the South End of Ka'anapali Beach by Hyatt Regency, we pulled into the parking lot and found that it offers a lot more amenities than many other beaches like public bathrooms, shower station, covered picnic tables, bbq grills, an expansive manicured lawn, and a lifeguard tower (you'll find these few and far between, especially in West Maui). This beach is also home to a canoe club and plays host to many of the canoe/paddling competitions, hence the nickname Canoe Beach. As a spot for photography and family photos, it actually worked surprisingly well! Christmas photos at the beach? Yeah, I was a bit skeptical at first, but I put full trust in our photographer and she was able to use all the different elements and even had props of her own (check my profile photo). From the lifeguard tower, to the plants that surrounded it, and the rocks below it each offered a different feel. Once golden hour hit, it was the perfect lighting. I just really loved how our photos turned out and would recommend this spot for your next family photo session! We didn't get in the water to swim, but it looked like a pretty good spot to do so especially if there's lifeguards on duty. Really sandy with not too many rocks and plenty of shade.

We are so glad we listened. As with most beaches in Hawai'i, parking can be a bit crazy, but we were lucky enough to find a spot nearby. From there, you walk down a set of steps that lead into a small alcove-like beach area, and it is absolutely gorgeous. The weather that day was perfect, and the waves were ideal for boogie boarding, which we ended up doing and had a great time. There isn't a lot of shade, so I definitely recommend bringing an umbrella. There are signs leading to the beach reminding visitors to be respectful of the land and the energy, and you can truly feel a special, almost magical presence the moment you step onto the sand. This is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. I honestly wished we had stayed overnight in Hāna so we could spend more time enjoying it. It almost saddens me to write this review because it feels like such a special, somewhat hidden beach that isn't overly crowded yet. If I ever make it back to Hāna, I would absolutely return to Hamoa Beach.

I literally pulled off the side as it was starting to get dark and let him know he had 30 minutes to play. I didn't really know quite what to expect when we got there. I was able to find street parking and then stairs leading down to the beach. When we walked down, we were in awe of the magic we had found. Huge blue waves like something out of a movie. We had the best time jumping waves together, enjoying the water and the gorgeous ocean scenery. The beach wasn't crowded at all for us and just a few families and surfers hanging out. Once we got splattered in the water and full of sand, we were able to rinse off in the outdoor shower and get back on our way. Would definitely come back to this heaven.

You can hear Crush from Finding Nemo saying "Righteous! Righteous!" as the waves came crashing in. So many good waves, knocking over so many people along the way. From grown women and men to teenagers flopping like fish with these powerful waves. There's a cost to park in the parking lots. You'll find plenty of parking along the road passing the lots. Big Beach is in between Little Beach and Secret Cove in the Mākena State Park area. There are porta potty's. Lifeguards gave warnings as the tide was pretty rough, advising people to be careful and go under the waves (lot of people didn't get the memo but got a lot of sand in their swim suits). Lady lost her cell phone in the ocean when she got knocked over trying to take a selfie (more like an ouchie). Kids enjoyed making sand castles but the waves were a bit too much for this Dad to carry them in. This was a great places to collect little shells for the kids, look at some lava rocks, watch some big waves on Big Beach. Mahalo

The cove, round and inviting, cradles the Pacific's mighty waves, and when the ocean greets you, it washes away all the worries, no ka oi. It was raining…read morewhile we were here, but it was still a beautiful and relaxing stop to enjoy the ocean views. It did look like a beach people go into the water at, though, so that might be something to look into. However, the water was very choppy so definitely not water you'd want to get in with any type of rain. You can see a little mountain off the coast - Ka Iwi O Pele or Bones of Pele - which was where Pele had her final battle with her sister. Koki Beach was not crowded at all while we were here - there were maybe 5 other people here. It's a nice place to stop and look at the ocean and Ka Iwi O Pele, but if you're in a rush or have a packed day, I'd say this is a stop you can skip as there are many other beautiful stops I'm sure you'll have stopped. However, if you have the extra time in your schedule, I would definitely take a quick stop to take in the scenery.

This beach has limited parking but it is super cute and now crowded at all. Just slow down because when you're driving it can be really easy to miss. We were looking for an easy place to stop to watch the sunset and with the mountain right there it was really the perfect spot. They have a little rocky area that you can use to probably go fishing if you want to. Super calm waters so good for kids as well.

Several canoe clubs paddle and SUP boards are here everyday. There are parking spots available right at the beach. There is a nice grassy area (not all that big but nice), showers and a public restroom. I only gave it 4 stars because the water isn't very clear. No one would ever snorkel here. People do swim here but I prefer other beaches for that.
