Yummmmm
Rod D.

They were pretty light on traffic when I visited but I was totally fine with that. They had ample inventory of all their cupcakes which I'm not really accustomed to as we normally visit the Lincoln Park location where they constantly revolve the menu based on inventory. Because of this, the cup cakes didn't taste as fresh as they usually are. Nonetheless, the flavors of the cupcakes were on point as usual. I loaded on chocolate decadence, mint chocolate, key lime and cake batter. Most of them OG flavors and they can always be counted on. Because I went on a weekday in between lunch and dinner, it was fairly quiet inside. I'll take this too as I didn't mind it being silent compared to the hustle and bustle at the Clark St Lincoln Park location. All else, great location and always consistent flavors!

Went to get a pack of 6 cupcakes for a birthday. They had an insane amount of variety!! But we got the chocolate decadence, peach cobbler, cake batter, chocolate with caramel, cookie batter, and butterscotch flavors! Omg every single cupcake was so perfectly moist and rich at the same time. It wasn't too sweet and was a complete treat to our taste buds!! I think the cookie batter was actually my favorite! It had a cinnamon taste and OMg it was absolutely addicting!! The inside is so cute! I love the seating and the decor, it's such a warm and welcoming atmosphere! And I asked the server for some candles, which she added for free!! Such an inviting atmosphere! I'm obsessed with cupcakes but I've truly never had better cupcakes than the ones they have at Molly's. And no matter when you show up, you will not be disappointed. 10/10 would highly highly recommend!

My favorites!

Hands down my favorite cupcake place will always be Molly's. They're peach cobbler and raspberry cream cupcakes are my favorites, but you honestly can't go wrong with anything they offer. You can get minis or regular sized cupcakes but I recently saw a big boi the other day. Not sure if that's a regular offering, but the regulars are a mouthful already! The ingredients used in Molly's cupcakes are great. Their buttercream frosting is perfect. I've never had a dry cupcake and I've been a lifelong customer. This location is big enough to social distance, but also to chill if you're feeling it. I have nothing bad to say because there really isn't!

I've been to Molly's three times now since they've opened in downtown Naperville and it's always a wonderful treat! On my first visit I just popped in quickly to grab four cupcakes to bring home to my family. I chose four different flavors from the display case and there was not one that disappointed! On my second visit I had my two young children in two and I got them each a cupcake to enjoy in the shop. They have a a fridge with beverages so I snagged a couple milks as well. Thank goodness the staff is so helpful and friendly! My boys were a tad messy and also hopped up on sugar, but everyone was happy to see them enjoying themselves. On my most recent visit we brought the whole family. Thanks to my husband's help I had a little more time to explore the menu and all Molly's has to offer. I realized you can choose your own cake and frosting! It's not just what they have pre-made in the case. I also discovered that they have wine by the glass and the bottle, and you can get it rimmed with chocolate or caramel! Say no more, mama wanted some chocolate and wine. We got a cookies and creme cupcake for one boy and a red velvet cupcake for the other. My husband and I both ordered a glass of the red blend - mine with a chocolate rim and his without. It was the best of both worlds for the kids and I to enjoy dessert here after dinner at Quiobo! The cupcakes are kind of pricey, but I do believe you get what you pay for because they're delicious. Highly recommend stopping by for dessert or picking up some cupcakes to go!

This quarantine has unfortunately turned downtown Naperville into a ghost town, but lucky for my friend and I Molly's cupcakes is still open for pickup and delivery. This is such a cute cupcake shop that is located in such a great and lively area of Naperville. The decor on the inside is warm and welcoming, and every time I am here the employees are always incredibly nice. In my opinion, they have some of the most creative cupcake flavors I've seen! Some examples of these flavors include their salted caramel butterscotch, peach cobbler, and Créme Brûlée. These novelty cupcakes are mainly popular for the cream filling found in the center. Of course, not everyone enjoys cupcakes with fillings, so they even give customers the option to create their own cupcake. I think this is a great way to cater to everyone's needs. The cupcakes themselves are delicious. Nice and rich in texture, I see why Molly's cupcakes is a staple for Downtown Naperville! Do yourself a favor and order to see for yourself!

Brand new kiosk at Woodfield Mall, Dec 2019.

This kiosk must have just opened, as there are no reviews as of yet. I'm not a cupcake expert but I have heard of them from the daughter, who is a self-proclaimed one. All I can say is they didn't look very big for $3.75 apiece, but they must be good cuz they're a popular franchise? ps - The photos and reviews are for the new kiosk at Woodfield Mall, located Lower Level, K2. Someone at Yelp or Molly's apparently changed the business name/location info back to their Naperville location for some reason, and I will not put forth any further effort to correct this.

Have come here multiple times with and without other people to try the cupcake that won Cupcake Wars (peach cobbler - along with its other tasty friends offered!) Super cute and spacious as you walk inside, and the staff is attentive, friendly, and willing to describe each cupcake. If you do come to Molly's, I would recommend any of the filled cupcakes. Although I'm sure the make-your-own cupcakes are yummy, they really are known for their speciality cupcakes and it's worth the extra spend (and calories!) Creme Brulee - my favorite of the current permanent variety that they offer. Well torched on the top like real creme brulee, with a creme filling. Topped with two pieces of fruit. Not overly sweet in my opinion for something that is both cupcake and creme brulee. So delicious! Cookie Monster - cookie dough filling. Can be a bit hard, but for cookie dough lovers, it's perfect. This one more like a traditional cupcake - on the more sugary side, but the buttercream top (along with a small cute chocolate chip cookie!) make it less heavy than other options Peach Cobbler - amazing, almost like two desserts. Best eaten right away as the ice cream on top does start to melt quickly, but the cupcake itself is unique. Peach on the inside. Tiramisu - best of what they had around the holidays/January. Was super light with a buttercream filling and frosting. Sooo good. Favorite next to the creme brulee. I've come here several times and have brought my boyfriend and friends. It's a super cute place that even has swing chairs. Perfect for date night and my favorite dessert place in downtown Naperville (and there are a LOT to choose from!)

I've been to this location a couple of times but today I got the worst cupcake. It was dry , crumbly and had more cream than cake just awful. I expected more. The service was good and the place is always cute.

Lemon Meringue

Such a nice and roomy store. THE SWINGS SWING HERE, not like the ones in Lincoln Park! A con would be swinging too hard and having your body too far forward and hitting your knees on the counter...wupz. They have about the same size display windows as the other location, but I didn't feel as overwhelmed. There was more rooms between each tray. I got the lemon meringue, which I may have looked over while at other locations. I was excited and the cupcake was delicious. They also had these 5 layer bars...or something like that, which I picked up after I finished the cupcake. They were cutting them right in front of me, I couldn't withstand the temptation. The bar was absolutely delicious, although I will say a tad too sweet for me, so I had to split it up and eat it throughout the day. They had something passion fruit related (I think with an orchid on top) and I completely missed it when I was picking my cupcake. Would have loved to try that!

Hours posted on window at store. States 10:00 AM for Saturday.

I think Molly's cupcakes is a GREAT little store with yummy treats. They make cupcakes that taste good & look good too. A bit pricy when ordering a dozen or larger quantities, but worth it for special occasions. My frustration with this location is their website not being updated. I like to get in and out right when the store opens so I can avoid traffic and get on with my day. Website indicated store opens at 8 AM, but the shop did not open until 10 AM. Also, website indicates seasonal flavors by month but store attendant said those flavors are not in season. Too many inconsistencies to overlook.

Creme Brulee
Lexi J.

Super good cupcakes! I'm obsessed with the creme brûlée, peach cobbler and the blueberry cheesecake. Those flavors seriously can't be duplicated. I wish they had more specials or a punchcard.

Cookies and cream. Mixed berry. Blueberry cheese cake. Creme brulee.

My gf brought me here to celebrate my graduation. Honestly, at first, I wasn't sure if I wanted cupcakes over the other dessert options in the vicinity. But after I peered into the display case, I was sold. We ended up leaving with 4 flavors because I couldn't decide. Creme brulee, mixed berry, blueberry cheesecake, cookies and cream. That is also how I rank them starting with my favorite. Nothing was overly sweet. C&C was the sweetest because of the chocolate. Most of the topping was way lighter tasting than it looks. The creme brulee and cheesecake ones had to be refrigerated so just keep that in mind for those not planning to chow down right away. I also appreciated their pride displays.

Yuuuup, I'll be here on a monthly basis. They also have a punch card system. Every 12 cupcakes will get you 1 cupcake for free. The inside is super cool, there are numerous spots for photo ops and they even have a ring light and camera holder if interested in using it. My first time visiting I tried the following cupcakes: chai pumpkin latte (daily special and DANGGGG DELICIOUS), Almond wedding (my least favorite but still good, I think almond cupcakes just aren't for me), cookies and cream (divine, rich, 2nd favorite), and the Boston cream (also 2nd favorite lol). All of the cupcakes were moist, fluffy, and full of flavor. They are made daily and you can feel and taste the love. Area 51 is definitely my favorite cupcake spot of all time. I've gone to Area 51 probably every week since finding em and I can't get enough. They also made cupcakes for my baby's gender reveal. They were extremely accommodating and everything turned out perfect! I highly recommend them for custom cakes, cupcakes, or even just grabbing 1 of their daily made cupcakes. SOOO GOOD!

The cake was very reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly when I came to pick it up. I ordered funfetti with vanilla buttercream. It was very sweet and delicious! I followed up three separate times after the event to share my concerns and received no response at all--which really shows how little they value customer service. * I didn't receive the full list of cake flavor options until four days before pickup, and when I asked to switch flavors, I was told it was already too late because the cakes had been baked without confirming my choice. * I had a confirmed pickup time of 10:30 a.m., but when I arrived, I was told the designer went home sick and the cakes weren't finished. I ended up waiting until 11:45 a.m. for them to be decorated, which explains the rushed design. * The cake pops weren't ready, so I had to cancel them and run to another store last-minute to find replacements. * I specifically requested pastel colors, but the cakes were decorated in bright colors that didn't match anything we discussed. * The design and quality were extremely disappointing--the decorations looked rushed, the frosting was hard, and the smash cake wasn't even edible for its intended use. Overall, this was an unprofessional and frustrating experience from start to finish. Between the poor communication, lack of accountability, low-quality product, and complete disregard for customer concerns, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. They clearly do not prioritize quality or customer service.

Cakeology is a bakery that offers gourmet custom sweets and treats! It was my first time ordering a…read morecustom cake before. I really appreciated that Cakeology had a website I could refer to which featured all of the flavor options and got a rough range on pricing. You'd be surprised how many bakeries don't have this feature so it definitely saved a lot of time on consultation. I do wish a size chart that had the inches and serving size was posted on the site. I think it would have helped a lot with making a faster decision on choosing a size. I was looking for a cake for my parents' 30th anniversary party. I contacted Kimberly by email with an inspiration picture and what flavors I was looking for. Kimberly was quick in responding and discussed all possible ideas. She provided me with a quote in a timely manner. We had a 3 tier cake. Our bottom layer was pistachio filled with raspberries and creme. Middle tier had yellow cake with tiramisu filling. And the top layer was a devil's chocolate cake filled with strawberries and creme. The design for our cake was pearl themed (for their pearl anniversary) with white roses draped over. It turned out super stunning! It was exactly what we imagined the design to be. My personal favorite flavor had to be the yellow cake with tiramisu filling. The espresso in the filling was the best and super flavorful. The chocolate and strawberries and creme were also very delicious and we wish we chose a bigger size for it. The pistachio cake was good, perhaps just a little more pistachio flavor could really make it stand out. The raspberries and creme was yummy but personally I think the white chocolate mousse may have been a better fit for the pistachio cake. Kimberly did recommend the white mousse but said that the raspberry was also what some people paired it with. We wanted to be fancy and it sounded good but I think white chocolate mousse would've been better suited for our tastes. Noted for next time. I do love that she used fresh fruit for all of the fruit fillings. Overall, we enjoyed the cake! It was stunning and delicious. The pearls and the iridescent sheen to it made it look so elegant. The flowers were gorgeous! We were so pleased with how it looked. As always, I am transparent in my reviews especially when it comes to cost and affordability. It is a custom luxury cake with gourmet flavors so I was expecting a higher cost and it definitely did exceed that expectation. We ordered a 3 tier cake (5 inch, 7 inch, and 9 inch) which serves 45 people. Each tier had a different cake flavor. Because we chose different flavors/filling for each tier, it was an additional $10 per flavor cake/filling. It was about $60 extra to have the 3 different cake flavors and then 3 different fillings. But honestly it was worth the extra charge to have different flavors. Our design had faux flowers and a cake topper which was an additional charge. We did pay for delivery which was about $20 but also something I consider worth it (I've watched too much Cake Boss to even attempt to pick up myself. I already know I'm a klutz and might drop it). Delivery was on time and very easy! Overall, it cost roughly around $300. A bit over my budget, but for our celebration of a milestone, I think it was well worth it. Based on the photos of Cakeology's previous work, I did expect it to be a bit bigger based on just how we perceived the photos. But my recommendation to those that are inexperienced like me is to just grab a ruler so you can visualize the size more accurately. Custom cakes are a luxury but with the right celebration, I think it is well worth it! It's not often we get a fancy cake like this so it's always nice to go big for an event important to you. And it's clear that Kimberly takes pride in her work. With lots of attention to detail, I can only imagine how many hours it took. And it was yummy too with all different types of flavor options she offers. And of course, I'm happy to support local businesses! I will definitely order from Cakeology again- she's got many goodies available and I've been eyeing the s'mores cupcakes! I would recommend Cakeology for intricate cakes that are meant to be a crowd pleaser!
