I was afraid that the thai tea would be sweetened already and the soft serve would only overly sweeten it but if anything, letting the soft serve melt into the thai tea was what gave the drink it's sweetness (along with the marshmallow-like foam). It was so GOOD! I thoroughly enjoyed this drink, especially on those rare warm sunny days we get here in Western Washington. Dare I say that I dream about this float! The self-serve kiosks made ordering seamless with detailed descriptions of menu items. The servers were pleasant and friendly, immediately welcoming us into the storefront. It's a quaint store with outdoor seating. I will definitely be back especially with the Summer days approaching!

It is such a delicious combination of flavors. The interior of the store is small yet so cute and quirky and I like that they have ample outdoor seating. You order your drink at the indoor kiosk and the service is pretty quick.

There is always a long line, so it seems to be quite popular. Today there was a buy one get one of a new drink, the golden oolong yuzu, so it was especially busy. I got the Triple Supreme Matcha Latte and ordered on the heytea app instead of waiting in the line to order. After placing my order, the app said there were 50 drinks ahead of mine in the queue, and about a 20 min wait. Staff were accommodating of my reusable cup and were, after some initial hesitation, able to serve my drink in my glass tumbler instead of the plastic cup. Thanks for supporting sustainability even while it was super busy today! The Triple Supreme Matcha Latte was really good, consisting of a strong matcha latte with matcha mochi and matcha jelly. The mochi is very soft and the jelly adds a nice texture to the drink.

LA Bean is a Vietnamese cafe in Factoria, selling teas, coffees and banh mis in a welcome setting. I was craving something with mango, so ordered the Mango Kiss tea, which consists of green tea, mango puree and mango pieces on top while my friend had a green tea with lychee. My mango drink was refreshing and delicious, with a ton of mango flavor. I could've easily ordered another one. I'd like to try the Vietnamese coffee with ube next time I visit for when I need more caffeine. There are a lot of different drinks to choose from here, so something for everyone here. Glad to have LA Bean in Factoria, which doesn't have too many boba spots around. Located in a small business strip, parking can be dicey with how small the lot is with the busy shops around, but it's nearby other businesses and walking distance to the Factoria shopping center. I'd come back.

The shop is tidy and had custom Seattle / Bellevue art on the wall, which was a nice local touch. There is a very small section of seating inside, but no tables, so most customers merely just pick up their tea and go. Macu specializes in dessert drinks which sound tempting and indulgent, but all of them are "fixed", so you need to order them as-is with no customizations to the sweetness and ice levels. Since I had just finished lunch, I wanted a lighter drink and noticed their Golden Leaf Tea is a "Macu Exclusive", so I knew I had to try it. It's described as a unique variety of Oolong. You can get the Golden Leaf Tea in just its plain brewed form, in a milk tea, or as part of their Chi-Chi series, which comes topped with cheese foam. + CHI-CHI GOLDEN LEAF TEA w/ 10% sweetness & light ice ($6.00): I feel perplexed by this drink. Despite not having much of a tea flavor, I endured a little caffeine buzz a couple hours later. I am not sure if the tea itself is supposed to be more mild in flavor, but I just couldn't sense its strength. However, the drink was crisp and refreshing, with the 10% sweetness level being perfect for my taste. The cheese foam was pretty light, smooth and not too salty. As I sipped it, the foam melded gradually with the tea and took over the flavor, making it slightly creamy too. One of my companions got the RUBY GRAPEFRUIT LI-LI TEA ($6.75 + $0.75 boba) and couldn't taste the tea either. It was very grapefruit-forward, including lots of pulp from the fruit. She said the boba was nicely cooked and lightly sweetened. We ordered at the kiosk and the staff called our number in just a few minutes. It didn't take long since they just had a couple mobile orders other than ours. I am willing to give Macu another chance, but was just let down since my tea seemed quite diluted compared to other Oolong teas I've ordered elsewhere. 3.25 stars.

But, I was…read moresurprised there was no boba, especially because the kiosk photos clearly showed boba in the tiramisu lattes. I am almost certain that we ordered it, too. It did not come automatically, and it also was not listed as an add-on option at the kiosk. So, if you want boba, order at the front counter instead with a representative. I wish that they clarified that upfront because the visuals were misleading. The staff was not interactive. They were focused on making drinks and keeping the space clean -- which is the bare minimum -- but it did not feel welcoming at all. There was also no clarity on when orders were ready. They would just place the drinks at the front and move on without calling out numbers, or confirming which order was what. It would help a lot if they announced the order number and drink name so that customers know when to step up. There is not much seating here either. It is a pretty tight shop, but thankfully there are other good restaurants and stores nearby, if you want to hang out elsewhere. Parking is a bit tough, so get comfortable with parallel parking on the strest The lighting inside is very bright -- almost too bright -- but honestly, it matches the energy of the tiramisu latte that kept me wide awake. One extra star for the free, collapsible red cup holders that I never seen any other boba shop do, though!

I want to preface this by saying my five star rating is for one drink: Strawberry Hojicha. And it…read moreis, by far, my favorite hojicha in Bellevue. There are 3 cafes I go to on the regular for my hojicha fix: Magic Matcha, Tendon Kohaku, and Bobae in Kirkland. While I enjoy all three, Magic Matcha is my favorite. The roasted tea flavor is strong, they allow me to adjust the sweetness level, and the flavor of the drink is always consistent. I've had issues with Tendon and Bobae either changing up the brand or the roast or adding too much milk on any given day. One of my gfs loves their horchata hojicha so there's that. I tasted it and it was objectively good. I wouldn't get it only because I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon, but if I were, it would be another go-to drink.

Realistically, my review is a high 3 stars, like a 3.7-3.9, and is mostly weighed down by the fact…read morethat the matcha latte was meh. Not awful, not I'll-never-drink-again-bad, but meh. I've been here twice, once a few years ago with my cousins, and another three days ago. The people working were attentive and quick with their service. The ambiance of the place is cute, a lot of pink and green, very instagram-worthy, and I saw a few people with friends or working on their laptop so it seems like a great place vibe-wise. To expand on my matcha critique, I found the color to be a little on the green-yellow side, which isn't the end all- be all quality indicator for matcha, but I find matcha lattes that are more rich in color tend to taste better and this tasted like a matcha drink I could make with costco matcha. I've made some decent lattes with costco matcha but once I switched to the more higher quality ones, well, it sorta refined my tastes. There isn't a lot of parking, and to be fair, a lot of people who are in downtown Bellevue are parked elsewhere else and likely just meander their way to the cafe. However, if you're coming in by car, I'd suggest parking by the apartments nearby, DO NOT park at the Chase Bank lot, even if the bank itself is closed (learned my lesson...). Overall, a 3.7-3.9. Could be better. Maybe with other additives like cold foam or strawberries, the drink is better, but I'm judging based off the basic latte.
