Cool ambiance, food was good, service - ok. I am a mole connoisseur and love trying different regions mole recipes. This mole recipe is from Oaxaca, it had a little kick to it, not too much though, and not too sweet. This mole sauce is five stars. My enchilada had an uncooked bean in it - bummer. All of our dishes we pretty good. Crab guac was really good. The corn bread was crummy - taste was great, it just broke apart easily. Ceviche was fresh. Tacos - steak ok but shrimp was really good. Desert - churros (be aware of molten hat Carmel that will burn your mouth when you bite into them). Service was a little weird. The manager was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. It seemed maybe they were short staffed - not sure. One thing I did not like was that we still had all our dirty appetizer plates on the table and they came out with our entrees - there was no room on the table for them. Is it appropriate for a server to have EarPods in his ears while serving? This is what bothered me the most, so I'm mentioning it first above all else. He seemed like he wasn't 100 percent present or didn't want to be there. In addition, he took a very long time to take our order. What brought me in was local news advertising this restaurant for Hispanic Heritage Month. I made reservations on opentable which also advertised its Hispanic Heritage Month Specials. This was a pleasant surprise. We spent the morning shopping on the Paseo and finding a place for lunch was important I noticed the sign while walking and we later drove back to try the restaurant. It had been crowed when I walked by but was empty except for on other couple. Parking is free and is behind the building and they have a back door up a ramp. Street parking also available. To start they make their own chips which are crisp and lightly salted. We took time to go over the menu because this is not your typical Mexican restaurant. We each tried a different item. My wife enjoyed a ceviche and my mother in law a layered appetizer the shrimp tostada. I had the mole figuring that if mole was in their name it would be very good This was one of the best chicken mole enchiladas have had . The enchiladas is served with a choice or rice and beans or a Napa cabbage slaw. I selected the slaw which had a very low get dressing. Service was good. Cost was a little over 20 a person. Appetizers are large enough to share or for a meal.for one. This restaurant has been open just under a year and is a place I would hope to go back to. read more

We went to Mole last night to celebrate a friends Birthday and we were greeted by our server Matt who was very friendly and efficient. He was very attentive to all 11 of us, which is not an easy thing to do being a big party and so was the rest of the staff. The chips and salsa is always the best here! I ordered the Snapper and it was delicious! We have been here several times and can't wait to go back! Ask for Matt to be your server he will take great care of you. read more

A friend recommended this restaurant, and I am a mole fan (it's hard to find good mole in the US) so we have gone twice. The food is outstanding! My chicken enchiladas mole were amazing, as were the appetizers - fried Avacados with an amazing dipping sauce and a crab Guacamole combination that was out of this world! The service was also top notch. Note - I believe the "pop up restaurant reviews at the tennis tournament" do this restaurant a disservice! This is a 5 star place all the way! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Started off with the shrimp cerviche in a spicy tomato sauce which was not very good. The tomato sauce basically tasted like shrimp cocktail sauce. The chips it came with were very good, however. Also had the braised beef enchiladas which were okay but nothing spectacular. Service was good and friendly. Won't be back. read more

We visited the BMP paribas tennis tournament this past week in Indian Wells, we stopped by Mole for lunch, first we were welcomed immediately by a very friendly staff, while walking through the restaurant it was very nice, we ordered some appetizers the shrimp ceviche and crab guacamole, Amazing! Order some alcohol beverages that's hit the spot while we waited for our meal, we ordered enchiladas de Mole that were really tasty and the wife ordered shrimp enchiladas that were delicious, we are going to try the restaurant on El paseo next , so if you're looking for a place with great food and a friendly staff this place is a must read more

So my wife took me here for my birthday feast. We were seated. And our waiter took our order for drinks. We tried their Caddillac margarita and a blood orange drop martini..(both OUTSTANDING). We next ordered the (guacamole flight) and the (salsa flight) 3 separate offerings of guacamole and salsa..all outstanding. Even the chips they offered were amazing. Fresh tortilla, plantain and banana chips..plus fresh tortillas. We next ordered two of their main dishes...Me the chicken mole enchiladas my wife the steak tampaniquia (spelling) placed over potato brava. (both outstanding). Way too expensive, although food was delicious. Sat at a booth with a not so tasteful view of back kitchen area. Had a Cadillac Margarita, which had a very odd taste to it. Told bartender that it tasted like Galliano was in it....he did bring me an extra shot of Grand Marnier and that helped...so I decided to have a second one...same odd flavor...$40 for two mediocre Cadillac Margaritas...Not good, and will not be going back. Plenty of other Mexican Restaurants around that know how to make Margaritas and not charge those prices. El Paseo dining not worth it. read more

Amazing food! Artfully prepared and well presented. The snapper is not to be missed! The mole enchiladas were also great. Although the cornbread was great, it is very sweet more like a dessert. The modern ambiance was beautiful. Reservations are a must here. The staffing is short, so service was slower. Everyone was hard working but they needed more wait staff. I love ceviche and have had it many times, at home and in restaurants, in different countries around the world. It's simple and it's not hard to get it right. Quite possibly the best Mexican meal I've ever had. The quality of their ingredients is superior - fresh and quality. The meat was tender - absolutely not chewy. Tortillas were homemade in restaurant. My margarita was fresh with no artificial ingredients. Service was awesome. read more

Went to MOLE on great recommendations, found the place nearly empty, despite the super cool vibe. Ordered the bone marrow as an appetizer, it came out absolutely incinerated! Sent that one back quite apologetically, and a second came out similarly ruined--the waitress said 'thats the way the chef wants to serve it. Oh my! The remainder of the meal (ordered the mole covered enchiladas) and they were acceptable if not quite good. Our food took a very long time to be prepared, even though there was very few people in the restaurant. The shrimp cocktail that was supposed to have crab did not have any crab and very few shrimp. After we received our food, the waiter never came back to the table until we called upon him. I talked to the server, but the manager failed to ever come over and check on us but spent time with another table. Not a good experience. read more

I was so excited to try Mole and it exceeded expectations! The aesthetic was on par with the amazing food. It was honestly a struggle for my husband and I to decide what to get because so many items sound soo delicious! We started off with the chips, salsa, guacamole, and equites. The appetizers were all great. I had the piña margaritas and had no complaints there! For my main I had the Mexican succotash. I thought the portions were very reasonable and filling. The service was extremely slow however. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Get the churros for dessert! read more

I've been dying to try this place since it opened and we finally got to so last night. We sat outside, the weather was nice, the inside was really nice too. No TVs which I liked but my husband wanted the laker game, so not a place to watch games. The chips OMG! They are basically lightly fried tostadas. The guacamole was amazing and I'm not a big guacamole person, it was better then stuff I've had in Mexico. The white fish ceviche was also amazing, great alternative for someone who's allergic to shrimp. The avocado fries were good, lightly fried but I woulda preferred them to be sliced thinner, they were more like avocado wedges. The chicharron was really good, loved the maple crust it had. We also loved that it was more tapa style, we actually didn't even need to order an entree we were so full (I blame the chips). Definitely recommend, so happy to have a "tapas" type place on Paseo. read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Service was good, food was good. The restaurant was clean and very quiet. I had chicken fideo and calbecitas, which seemed to be blended and not like what I was Expecting, which was pieces of the vegetable. It was good, but I probably would not order this again. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. Mostly, because our server was so unwelcoming and unprofessional. I am on a whole food plant-based (vegan) diet and typically order sides at Mexican restaurants to make a meal, such as rice, beans, pico de gallo, corn tortillas, guacamole. I have never had a problem before and have done this dozens of times at Mexican restaurants. But this waiter (strangely) resisted and strongly suggested I order the only the vegetarian entree, an unappealing succotash. I said I preferred the sides, and he ended up bringing beans/rice and guacamole covered in cheese (!) and the tiniest container of pico de gallo (holding no more than a tablespoon). It seemed passive aggressive. My friend's fish tacos were also poorly prepared. They were covered in so many wet ingredients that she had to eat them with a knife and fork. The restaurant was supposed to be upscale and priced accordingly, but the waiter showed no knowledge of table etiquette. For example, instead of coming to my friend's side to clear her plates, he reached all the way across the table to clear them. Then he stacked all the plates up in front of us. It was very low rent. Go elsewhere. My meal at Adobe Grill at La Quinta was MUCH better, all the way around. read more
