I have been going here for 20+ years! I started going in high school and I continue to go because the food is GREAT. I am super picky with Mexican food and this place has always been a winner for me. The place also has fast and friendly service. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. My recommendations are the rolled tacos (with guacamole and cheese), the bean and cheese burrito and the cheese enchiladas. The red hot sauce (salsa) is also really good. I have been coming to this place for a long time. What happened? I was disappointed with my order and it wasn't the first time. Taquitos were soggy because the guacamole was different. I've written at least 2 reviews for this place and it keeps getting deleted or lost. Maybe this one will stick. My wife and I have been coming here for over 12 years (actually she's been a lot longer since she's lived in the area as a kid). It was our go to late night spot after a night of clubbing or partying and we needed a bite or snack around 3 am. And it was our morning after, I-don't-want-menudo-but-I'll- take-a-breakfast-burrito-instead-to-help-with-this-hangover, spot. Then, it morphed into our regular night time after dinner, binge watching Dexter on Showtime, super nachos spot. After 3 kids, it became our "I'm too lazy to cook, what do you want for lunch/dinner?" place. In a word, it's one of our regular staple rotations. The kids like the taquitos and nacho fries and my wife and I love the breakfast burritos and SHRIMP super nachos (it's off menu, so you have to know about it to order it). The food is pretty consistent and the location is really easy to get to (on the corner of Imperial and Harbor) and there are two drive thru lanes and ample parking. In the over 12 years we've been coming here, I don't ever remember it being closed. For some reason, it tastes better than their other location on Whittier, but maybe it's just because we have been coming here so long that we BELIEVE it' better. But, whatever the case, we like it here more. I'm a shrimp fan and we've had the chicken and carne asada super nachos for years. So one night I asked if they could put shrimp on the nachos. To my surprise, they said sure. So, for the past 6 years, the ONLY way we get the super nachos is with shrimp. Their shrimp burrito is good, too, and was just too much for me to finish when I ordered it for lunch. It's sauteed with onions and bell peppers, like a fajita, and rolled with rice and beans and tomatoes and sour cream and cheese in a large flour tortilla. Definitely enough to share. Which is how we get most of our food from here. We share it: with our kids, our friends, our families. I remember how, as a kid, my dad would take me to Pioneer chicken or Shakeys and I got excited knowing that I would get to eat something really flavorful and filling. That's how I believe my kids (at least I know my wife and I) will feel about this place as long as they stay open. In fact, my kids and brother-in-law often ask, "when are you going to Moke again?" As close as you can get for authentic Mexican food. Portions are generous, and priced reasonably. $10-12 for a meat + rice + bean plate of food. I always get their carne asada quesadilla and Orange Bang drink. They offer several different salsas made freshly. Location opens 24/7 so get your late night grub on. Outdoor seating available and plenty of parking. There is two sides for drive thru which is what I use when I go... everything is packaged in styrofoam containers and bagged. Staff has always been friendly and quick with the order. The one star lower is for the price, I think it's a bit on the high side for what you get at a quick stop place and not exactly a restaurant location. Tasty yes. Portions good yes. For those who remember the late great Alerto's before changing owners to Sabrasoda. Molca Salsa in Fullerton, CA, somewhat reminds me of them. The Good 4/5 Friendly and nice cashiers. I asked for extra hot sauce, and they were nice enough to not charge me extra for it like some other places. (Caution, it's hot, and I do not recommend you slurping it like me.) A little bit cheaper and more reasonably priced than most places. I didn't get charged an arm and a leg for guacamole and cheese like at Sabrasoda. Their rolled tacos are so good and remind me of the old Alerto's. good, crunchy chicken tacos. Lots of parking. The Bad 3/5 Their agua fresca tamarindo drink was too sweet. Portions were kind of lacking. The carne asada burrito wasn't on par with other places. Limited seatings. Lots of homeless, shady M%$£ around. If you want some really good rolled tacos, you've come to the right place, and they also open late at night. The only reason this place gets some extra brownie points is because it is open for 24 hours which is always a plus. However I got this at 3 in the afternoon which means my expectations are normal especially considering how many Mexican restaurants are in the area. However if this was the turnout at like 3 in the morning then I would have more grace but this food was overall just not good. Beef Taco: The beef taco had shredded beef which didn't have much flavor. I had to use a lot of salsa to get any flavor from the taco. The tortilla tasted stale and the only good thing was that they put a good amount of beef in the taco. Carne Asada Fries: The carne asada fries were not that good. The fries were not crispy, in fact, they tasted soggy and were not seasoned at all. The texture was just sad and their guac tasted lemon-y which is the worst. It's consistency was just poor. Chicken Fajitas: I'm sorry but these were the worst fajitas I have had. The chicken was diced small and for some reason they had potatoes in the fajitas?? I never had fajitas with potatoes and it was a bad fix. It had a lot of sauce and no matter the amount of salsa we put on, nothing could save these. THE BEST CARNE ASADA FRIES EVER, PERIOD. I was so apprehensive about coming here, mainly because previous customers have found WORMS(???) in their fries/ food. But after examining my to go order for 10 minutes, I was able to surmount and devour the delicious fries. We paid ~$9 for the Super Fries, which is the norm price for carne asada fries-- but so much more worth it here at Molca Salsa! We arrived around midnight after a night at Hopscotch. Please triple check your order and your receipt. 2 out of 8 times we were missing things or over charged. If you go back and try to get it corrected they are not likely to correct it. This is unfortunate because their food is usually pretty good for late night. Is it the best Mexican food? No, but it is damn good and hits the spot! I've been coming here since 2003 and I prefer this location to the Whittier one. I moved to Hawaii about three years ago and to be honest, the Mexican food out there is not great (only one place I like out in Haleiwa).
