Happened upon Moka Cafe on our drive to Myrtle Beach. Nice find! Really Good BBQ! I have the platter with 1/4 rack ribs and pulled pork. Ribs were fall of da bone yummy! Good clean, moist and perfectly cooked pulled pork. Baked beans were tastey too! My wife got the pulled pork sandwich. She said it was great too. Got a couple of peanut butter and chocolate cookies for the road. We were very Happy! I would stop in again when in the area. Y'all should try too! read more

Great BBQ! I had BBQ several times and it's really good, the sauce is perfect and huge portion. Good flavor and nice folks working there. Had the onion rings which were homemade string type. The red slaw is perfect for the pork bbq. Give this local place a try! read more

I'm glad I finally got around to trying this place. I will be back. The french fries homemade were perfect, the fried okra the best I've had in years it's better than when I cook it, the ribs and the barbecue were wonderful. A must stop on your way to SC from NC right off Hwy 57 where the waving pig greats you! Been coming here for warm apple cider and hot chocolate for months but decided to stop and try the BBQ. Boy was it a great choice! I ordered the BBQ plate with beans and potato salad. You can dine in or get it to go. The atmosphere is so quaint and they make you feel like you are at home. I saw a lot of post on FB about this place. I starved myself all day so I can DIVE into my meal lol WORST mistake ever. I spent $16 for 1/2 rack of ribs and two sides. The size of "sides" that came with my meal are a JOKE! It's maybe 3-4 bites if that! The ribs are the WORST I have ever ate in my life and I MEAN THAT! This place has a smoker outside to draw you in to stopping. The ribs have no smoke flavor, no salt or any seasons on the actual meat, the ribs are so fatty and the few bites I took I had to DIG in with my fork to get the fat pulled apart. This is NC where BBQ is something to brag about DEFINITELY not this place. The baked beans are from Bushes Baked beans in can, NO AUTHENTIC taste you can tell it's from the can. The potato salad is in insult to all potatoes ever. No salt, pepper, celery seed? Mustard? Relish? Peppers? I mean it has NOTHING just potato, eggs and light mayo. I will NEVER send anyone here or better yet ever try again and to think I was almost tempted to get the banana pudding, I am glad I did not. Worst place ever for BBQ DO NOT GO! I honestly tossed the whole bag in the trash. I am a big foodie and I love to try lots of different place especially during this time where it's important to support local, never again! Hole in the wall country place. Best ribs and pulled pork that have ever passed these lips. I'm not a fan of bbq swimming in sauce until now. Their bbq sauce is amazing and highlights the flavor of the meat. We tried it once and now it's our go to spot for bbq and ribs. It's best to call your order in by phone before you come. The ribs are made to order so you will wait a bit if you don't call ahead. If you are a happy soul and love good Southern style bbq, you will love this place. Only downside is the restrooms are outside and on a rainy day you will get wet. Great place for old school NC BBQ. read more

While in North Myrtle Beach for a softball tournament found this little gem out in the middle of nowhere. The hotel lacked in quality coffee and extras, and didnt want to do any chain coffee place. Found this place " 6 miles away" with great reviews. Well we didnt know we had to drive into a different state, it was suprising when we saw the North Carolina Border sign. Well, this place didnt disappoint. Other than some crazy person who yelled at me for parking, which I parked next to her, it was a perfect coffee drip trip. I had the Carmel Macchiato, and this was the smoothest coffee I has ever ever had!!! They have fresh baked goods, and had to have some of course. Got a slice of zucchini bread for my wife, and if it wasn't so far to go, I think she would've had me go back and buy every slice they had, to consume at a later time of course I had the tripel berry and apple pies, oh my, I am so glad i don't live near by, i would have their pies for dessert every day. I only wish I would've gotten some of their other baked good, they were so tempting. Any way if you get a chance stop in, and hopefully you'll have more time then I did. oh yeah, they serve a limited breakfast menu, but man, I'm sure it's good. read more

An excellent hidden gem just inside of North Carolina. Great coffees and excellent baked goods. I cannot day enough good things about Rene, Courtney, and Kalayna. Daily specials on fresh baked goods and a daily lunch special, meatloaf, fried chicken, and chicken and dumplings to make a few. I stopped in on Monday morning and then stopped back by everyday this week as I've been here for work. Highly recommend this cafe. Farmers produce market on Saturdays as well. read more

We have passed by many times and finally stopped in to Moka the other day. Very pleasant experience in a warm and cozy settin Update is called for now that establishment became more of a restaurant. Fine meal choices available like ribs, bbq, burgers, etc. Have made a number of visits during these days of only curbside takeout. Very good option and recommend them. read more

What a great find! Definitely the place to stop for breakfast or lunch. Cute decor. Friendly staff. We had a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and French toast with fresh fruits...delicious! And the best coffee I've had in ages. And we couldn't leave without taking some of the homemade scones with us. Highly recommended! Their pulled pork is lush and juicy...the 'Q tender and crusty...cornbread muffins bigger'n a baseball. This is a great little coffee shop. The coffee was amazing. I think this is a fairly new business because they don't seem like they've found their rhythm yet when things get backed up so it may take a bit to be served. Definitely worth the trip and you can get fresh vegetables while you're there at the attached market. read more

Tried the BBQ for the first time as a take out order. I would say that it was a very pleasant surprise. Not only was it fresh but very good. Had the potato salad and baked beans as our two sides along with buns, sauces and a container of bread pudding. All were great. I will be sure to spread the word and will be back again to order some pies for the Holidays. Nice to have a small owners restaurant close so the community can support our own. read more

Wonderful and unique cafe. Delicious breakfast in a farmhouse atmosphere. The coffee is delicious and comes piping hot in a huge mug. The berry scones were to die for and everything was so fresh. This is the 3rd time I have bought coffee from Moka and it is my last. 7.25 for a weak as dish water cafe mocha and a cold blueberry biscuit. Maybe their other foods are good. I see good ratings but a coffee shop should have excellent coffee. The biscuit might have been good but it was put of a refrigerator cold. read more

I am so happy that the Moka Cafe is here, it's tucked away on Highway 57. The coffee is excellent and the food is delicious you feel like you're eating at someone's country table. The people that work here make you feel really welcome and all their baked goods are foods are homemade! Plus they open up super early in the morning. There's nothing better than cake and coffee for an Italian New Yorker living down south, LOL. Definitely check this place out you won't be disappointed. read more

This is the best kept lil secret on the north end of the beach. Nestled on a back country road just over the SC state line. The Indigo Farms market has been a family owned business for generations. Well now this beautiful lil cafe / bakery has opened to share this location. It has added that country touch that has always been there. The coffee is superb and the baked goods what can one say but delicious and yes its healthy baked goods. read more
